The third home game in a week gives Rangers the chance to continue our good start to the season with the visit of St Johnstone.

This game is every bit as important as the two Euro ties either side of it and with Steven in Disneyland its down to Alex and Kev to provide the preview.

Strange to say Zander Clark not much of a loss when he was statistically one of the best keepers in the league last year

Do you think Yilmaz would of been a bit more proactive with his passing against USG? He does seem to be more of a playmaker than barisic is. Hopefully we kick into gear against St Johnstone, the stat pack makes me think it'll be 4 or 5.

Hopefully see Tillman central, really don't want to see him wide right again

Always thought we could play at a slightly higher level than St Johnstone but the fact he still hasn’t found another club probably suggests otherwise

Definitely agree that Rangers fans generally value the perception of a players attitude very highly - It’s something many of our cult heroes of the last 20 years have in common - Nacho Novo, Dado Prso, Kevin Thomson and Marvin Andrews all spring to mind whilst others who achieved similar things in their time with us aren’t held in the same regard e.g. Thomas Buffell, Brahim Hemdani, Kirk Broadfoot, Kyle Lafferty etc

Thank you gentlemen, excellent discussion as always and superb dedication from Steven Really interesting points about players we take to and don't Hagi is a really interesting case. During 55 I saw someone post "Despite the number of assists he's got, I don't think he's very good" What can you really say back to that? If you ignore all of Super Ally's goals, his contribution over 581 games was really very poor Contrast that to someone like Katic. He was never able to hold down a regular starting place, even when the competition was Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley and the squad has clearly moved on significantly since then but this summer there were (and may still be) people calling for him to get a chance this season Really interested to see how van Bronckhorst approaches today's game. St. Johnstone at Ibrox is probably the least threatening league fixture we will have this season given how few goals they score. How attacking we look to be here is probably going to be something of a yardstick of our upper limit Although I do expect them to be trying to stifle the absolute life out of the game, I think lots of players will be flying from midweek and will be a little bit more free to try the more attacking option and I think we'll get a comfortable 4-0 win

Well done on a great preview. Today’s game is every bit as important as the games either side of it.

With reference to St Johnstone’s achievement of 2 seasons ago - nothing patronizing about that. The last time a team outwith the Old Firm won a cup double was Aberdeen in 1989/90, when the Sheep were our strongest challengers and there was not the polarization between the big two and everyone else. You mention Dundee United’s disaster. Contrast that with them reaching the European Cup semis and UEFA Cup Final in the 80s. Another sign of how football has changed. Jim McLean’s tactical nous was the key, but I don’t imagine his man-management style would really fit the modern era.
