Be good if a poder with connections inside Ibrox could let the board what fans think of this absurd deal. Even Tom English is tweeting about it !!! Are Rangers going to accept it ?

Cheers wee sacks 😀

On the seatsub topic, and probably covered by Colin re overhaul of the ticketing system, but seatsub only working for league games is another area that needs looking at.... cup / euro games where CCCS auto purchases the ticket, but unable to return to club for resale if unable to attend, requires a visit to ticket office to get a reprint to make sure the seat isnt empty - not always possible for fans who live a long way from the stadium

Wonder if anyone is due a hefty fee for brokering the TV deal

Agree with you on the TV deal issues Colin with the exception of the comparison with turkey. That's a country of over 80million people so their TV deal/subscription capacity is always going to be more than Scotland. My biggest gripe with our tv deal is with the BBC. They pay roughly £220m for epl highlights for 3 years, roughly £70m per season. As a nationwide publicly funded broadcaster, they should have to provide equal population share to other nations for parity (as per BBC charter), that would be about £7m a season, currently I think the Scottish been deal is worth about £2m a season. We've been short-changed by TV for years, really we should be lobbying our elected MPs (no laughing) to make sky do something similar - want to spend billions on epl? Well you need to give population share to Scottish, Welsh and NI football, as we're all paying the same subscription.

Scottish football is not a good product without viewing figures you can't really say how good a deal is even with the old firm the standard is poor it's just attack v defence there isn't alot of Scottish football fans just fans of their individual clubs

Great point re BBC deal for Match of the Day and I hadn't actually thought of it that way before but you're right the investment should be proportional. It would be worth writing to the beeb on this issue as they are duty bound to take such complaints seriously. I'm not sure that Sky could be strong-armed into doing the same because unlike the BBC, of course, they are not a chartered public broadcaster. Still, £15 million over three years shared between clubs would be a great deal better than £6 million, and it is something that is a realistic prospect with the right political acumen at the top of the game.

Amazon paid £30m for the rights to the US Open tennis tournament. To put it into perspective it is the equivalent of every man, woman and child in Scotland paying a fiver for an *entire* season of televised football in Scotland. We might as well send Trigger to the negotiations.

Doncaster and his team trying to tie up there bonuses

Fantastic research and commentary on the football deal Colin. Do you have the data on number of games covered in those other leagues so that you can get to a cost/ value for game in each league? I’m thinking that if you had, and presented that as a league table it would get a lot more attention/ be more easily recognised as the bad deal it is.

William Black

Just listened back, 100% agree. The Sky deal is a joke. Being pushed through to keep the current crop of shit in place for several more years.

William Black

Do you think Norwegian football is better? The Old Firm alone are worth more than their entire league.

Anyone know where this seat sub money goes. I subbed a few last season which were then purchased and I got a email near end of the season saying I had 0. Emailed rangers directly but they are absolutely useless tbh and it is something I think we need to improve on. Is there a place you can go online and check the balance. Unless of course I’ve made a rip roaring cunt of it somehow. Cheers

Colin Munro

previous years the seatsub credits were held in your name, never really knew how much the running total was tho, then got email for ST renewal with accrued credit taken off the price, but on the RFC site now the seatsub shows up as £0 credit, but in the 'on account balance' section it shows credits received and my current total value.... find it 'my account' section

Our fans wearing all blue will intimidate the PSV players you say?! Scary stuff 😂🤔

Doncaster and his pals have proved time and time again they are utterly incompetent. The Commercial / Contracts folks within the organisation are unlikely to ever win a stepped increase as we're already on such a low baseline. They need to set their own minimum pricing level then goto the comoetitive market with a tender. Sky seem to dominate them every time. Current situation is not a win/ win.

Magnificent musical selection Colin
