Ha, I can't be the only person who looked at that description and thought "bloody hell, was Rod Wallace still playing?!" Got there in the end...

Craig Wilson

After reading your comment i looked it up and felt really old when I realised he retired 18 years ago 😱

Ryan Stewart

Nothing from the club on Wallace is extremely poor, although certainly not unexpected from this board and comms team. A former captain who gave us 8 years service bringing us back through the divisions. He was the first of the senior players to put his head above the parapet and say he was staying. I will always feel indebted to him for that. All of this to the detriment of his own club and international career. And we can’t even put out a tweet saying thanks and all the best for his retirement? Very poor imo

Stephen Grant

Any finances that are received for anyone in January must be reinvested

Craig

Wallace's final season with us is a real mystery, it seemed that he had been black balled, but then Gerrard did have him in a few squads, including that random half hour he got against St Johnstone even though Flanagan was also on the bench that day. I'm sure Gerrard made a comment at the start of the season of being happy to have Wallace in hia team when he was physically and mentally ready, I wonder if he had checked out after all the carry on.

KennyY

Agree with you on Glen Kamara however my worry would be our ability to identify suitable targets that would be first team ready. We don’t have very much recent success on the recruitment front

Stillsaw

Tbh I wouldn’t stand in any player leaving in jan. Sick of the constant loosing mentality.

Scott McKenzie

As former pod Bundesliga correspondent I seen him as he came on the seen with Leipzig then Bremen. Started well but seem to fade away fairly quickly particularly at Bremen

William Ross

Not convinced stevie g will still be at villa come the transfer window

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Always like Lee Wallace. Didn’t like how the club treated him.

chris smith

Kind words for LW, thx David

Kamara will come back from international duty showing form, I guarantee it. He always returns with a spring in his step. The thing I never understand about footballers is how they think they’re helping themselves by turning off because they want a move. Managers don’t want huffy wee bastards on their hands. Our real problem is recruitment, which has felt run down for four windows now. There is a need to improve that area. I’m still waiting to see what Wilson brings to the party, to be honest. He comes across as a yes man, which we don’t need any more of. Wallace had probably overstepped the mark that day in the dressing room. Murty undoubtedly lacked the experience to deal with that situation, but there are lines you don’t cross. He was a good pro for us otherwise, and I hope he goes on to have a good coaching career. I wish him well.

Ian McMorrin

Wallace was treated disgustingly by the club and , along with Lee McCulloch , should

Ian McMorrin

.....always be held in high esteem for staying when others couldn't wait to jump ship....we know who they are!!!

Piggott

If Gerrard wanted glen kamara he would have been there a long time ago, file under BS

Leslie White

Totally agree with David re Lee Wallace, what disgusted me was when King at the AGM thanked that incompetent Murty for his endeavours. Back then you got a quiet polite applause, lot of people on the road out also were not happy about Kings comments. Considering what Lee gave to Rangers at a time of Chaos, King should have been thanking him instead.

Tom McDavid

My music choices weren’t that bad David………….were they? 😇🤔

Rona Bluebell

Lee Wallace, lovely man. Ally McCoist, lovely lovely man ❤️

Dougie

Sorry but a random one! Anyone know when the general sale of tickets is for St Mirren on the 8th Oct! Website saying It’s still only for MyGers now! Thanks in advance 😊

David

Not a chance. It will be loans and pre contracts for the summer

David

Kamara is very low on the list of players that need recycled. I think he is one of them players, when gone, we will miss him. Granted he hasn't played well this season but he is being played out of position a lot of the time and probably, like most of us, can't understand how gio wants to play.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David 👍🙂 Thank you Lee Wallace and good luck in your future career. Every inch a Ranger, every inch a Rangers Captain. A modern day Greig or Jardine. A gentleman, calm & dignified but with the heart of a Lion and hard as nails. Put Rangers first when so many others chose not to, that is integrity & commitment.

Douglas Hannah

We can get a decent fee come the window for Kamara I’d happily see him go, played well In Europa league games, but has been posted missing when needed in domestic games, and I have thought this has been the case for him for some time now. Wish Lee Wallace every success as a coach he deserves it, and I’ll never forget he stayed for the fight.

Alex Hood

Kamara’s two pals left in the summer and he’s not been the same since
