About time something like this came out 👌🏼

Craig Mcwhinnie

It’s unfair for mygers and season ticket holders who apply for these away games, it shouldn’t be from the top Down it should be balloted to ensure a fair chance of a ticket. They claim it’s based on loyalty but in reality it isn’t

Robin Balfour

At last we’re getting to hear from the club. Thanks David

stuamaclean-rednblackscarf

His answers are the same as the last time for almost every topic. “We’re not happy with it, we’ll learn for it and try to change things”

Steve Stewart

Fair interview and good news about a new ticketing website next season

John Smith

Really good interview David 👍 just a shame we got more of the scripted answers from the club

Davie Balfour

Mygers is a place where rich people get tickets, poor people who can't afford the extra money after paying out for a season ticket don't get tickets 😢

Craig Mcwhinnie

It’s not, and I have an example of why it’s not. I’ve had my season ticket for over 15 years have been signed up to the old away scheme since then and cup tickets for hampden ect and the European travel club before my gers and joined mygers when it started. I’m in the silver tier when it comes to my “loyalty” never missed an away trip when I was pulled out the ballot for a ticket. My friend on the other hand who this will be his 4th season as a season ticket holder. Done all of the above and went to 2 games in Europe more than myself and is in the Gold tier, how it’s scored can’t be right and I know plent of people who are in the same boat with someone they know

Mark Boyd

Popcorn out for this

ally keith

Good interview David…he always seems to have the correct answers but we need to start and see things getting done. It’s no like they’ve just started in this job…but I’m sure we will give them a wee bit more time..

Colin McPherson

Feels a bit convenient in timing that the day negative press re our commercial operations is out we have Biscgrove out talking about everything whilst patching it...

Elaine Campbell

There’s been a fair old charm offensive from the board over the past couple of weeks. Must be an AGM coming up or something? Fair play to him I suppose for coming on and speaking, he’s certainly a very engaging speaker which is a good trait for a commercial manager to have. Thanks for asking for and doing the interview David, much appreciated 👍🏻

Tamus

Spivvy McSpiv from Spivingham

Elaine Campbell

I thought that too, but I think listening to some of his answers we may well have been mired in old contracts/deals that we either have to see out, or extricate ourselves from in a priority order maybe? I’m no financial guru, not by a long chalk, I think I’m in more debt than Britain is at the minute, but without a blank chequebook, each investment of funds would have to be allocated to the biggest fire I would say? Like I say, I don’t know, but my initial thoughts were similar to yours

littleboyblu

Totally agree Craig. I’ve been a season ticket for 42 years. I was in the old travel club since it began travelling on the official flights and buying tickets through the club for European games (mostly). Been in the CCCS since it started for every competition, friendlies, etc. I’ve applied for every away ticket for the last 40 years through the old ballot system and now MyGers. I’ve bought Rangers TV strips for the kids etc. So far this season I’ve had Livingston away and that’s it. A full stand at Hibs and still no ticket. No ticket for Aberdeen, Hearts or Liverpool. I’m getting pretty sick of it. Just ripping the fans off now. Bring back the old ballot system where at least you we’re guaranteed 3/4 away tickets a season. So much for it’s based on loyalty.

Dougie

No real answer as to why season ticket holders for 20 yrs, apply for every away game are stuck on silver. It's a self perpetuating for the affluent fan system. Someone in silver will never get to Gold unless they my buy RTV Edmiston House package and a Womens ST. No real answer.

Craig Mcwhinnie

I was the same in terms of an away ticket to Livingston, not against the loyalty programme itself, but it has to be run better, as David said in interview it feels like it’s the same guys all the time that get the tickets. And if this stays the same way then it always will be. I don’t understand why they have people who aren’t in the gold tier to apply for tickets such as Liverpool and Celtic when they will never even get a look in to get a ticket.

Christopher Doak

I'm in gold and have only had livingston. Only high profile game I've had since mygers started was hibs away midweek. Gold aren't rewarded either.

littleboyblu

Craig I’m in the Gold tier and still don’t get tickets. Your right it’s the same people getting the tickets all the time. The system doesn’t work. I honestly don’t know how they sort it because demand will always outstrip supply. That’s why I’d go back to the old ballot system and Travel Club. Guaranteed some away tickets. The old ballot system worked better with Friends & Family too. The boys I go with are all on Silver meaning we’ve really no chance of getting tickets together for games.

Graham Roy

Hmm the usual response of we know and trying to fix it! Actions speak louder than words!

Neil Wilson

Thanks for getting this update. I would really hope the Club do these updates on a 2 or 3 month basis across their media platforms with a published timeline of when projects will be finished. That would hopefully prevent and reduce vacuums being created. Working in a company where we're going through a digital transformation, the Club have my sympathies in getting those things built and operational.

William Black

Good questions David, could’ve scripted his answers, that’s by no means your fault but it’s the same old message coming out over and over from the Club. You know the old saying, if you’ve nothing good to say the. don’t say anything at all, I’ll hold myself to that on this occasion.

Michael Gray

Haven’t listened to it yet, but glad to see there is further communication by the club. Hopefully it’s regular moving forward. Any chance we’ll hear from the chairman at some point?

Graham Twycross

Great to get him on about the main points we've been worried about. As a long term listener and knowing your style, I'd guess you werent allowed follow up questions. This is where the important info needed to come from.

John Cox

David Milburn has been first class and has resolved a few issues i’ve had straight away and also regarding CTM

Leslie White

Usual platitudes, did he go to the Yes Minister school. You can buy anything online or Club shops, so long as it’s Castore, Castore, Castore.

Abbie McKenzie

Good questions David. Thanks for asking them.

Jonathan McLeish

Length of ST doesn't come into it, and to be quite honest neither it should as that is very much a closed shop for kids etc... Under current scheme rolling 5 years of ST, actual attendance (swiping) + CCCS, Home Friendlies = Gold. It rewards people who've guaranteed income to the club. B team, programme, women's games etc are a distraction, they boost up some accounts but worth very little without a good 5 year history backing them up.

Jonathan McLeish

The answer is already there though. You don't need to buy any extras to get into Gold. Total fallacy.

Samantha Paterson

Good questions, I was frustrated the price of CL wasn't answered before in Bennett interview. Can't believe have platform which can't take the amount in installments! MyGers isn't perfect but with fanbase size of hours no system will ever be.

Jonathan McLeish

The issue isn't MyGers generally speaking, it's demand v supply. I've had Hibs so slightly better but way folk obsess over the extras you'd think buying EH got you every game.

Alex McLean

Only bit noteworthy was the breakdown of commercial revenue which I don’t think we’ve had before. However, the rest (and this is certainly no fault of David) was just more of the same “we hold our hands up”, “we know we could do better”, “in hindsight that was a mistake”, all of this same crap. Stop saying you know you could do better and just actually, well, be better

Alex McLean

Also, after all that & a not very convincing defence of MyGers in the interview, at 4:30pm today an email just landed….20% off Molten Brown products for MyGers members. They are so tonally deaf it’s beyond belief. Literally not one single member joined MyGers to save a few quid on soap, body lotion & shower cream ffs

Kyle Duff

Delivered your questions very well David, liked the way you went about it, very well done mate

Bill McCairns

Good interview David. It seems to continue the trend of recent weeks of the board realising the need to improve communication with the fans. Hopefully that gets followed up by action.

George Mathieson

Snap David on away tickets. Seems like spend £40 on my gers to get semi or final tickets maybe better spent on something else. A lot of WIP and acknowledging and waffling get done but too no end result. AGM could be interesting

Alex McLean

Problem with it is there’s realisitcally next to no chance of moving up tiers. If the same Gold members keep getting away tickets then their points just keep going up. I get there should be a reward for loyalty but it shouldn’t be a closed shop otherwise how does everyone else get to show loyalty. Old random ballot & travel club system was far better. Everyone had the same chance.

Alex McLean

But, we’re stuck with it. Absolutely not a fan of the top down distribution model. I think every away allocation should be 50% Gold, 30% Silver, 20% Bronze and everyone within those tiers ballotted. Gives folk at least a semblance of a chance.

DAVIE N

I’d liked to have heard his view on the Aussie cup debacle

James McSween

Good interview. Hopefully see improvements across all aspects soon

Steven L

Decent interview David. Can’t say I’m overly happy with the response to away tickets. Yes there is people who possibly deserve tickets before me but it should be a fair ballot especially for the bigger away games, it sometimes feels that only the super staunch get tickets.

Bob MacCallum

Can't believe Bisgrove said Gers' website is one of the best. It's dreadful. Click on it and under "news" it's usually all WOMEN'S news! I, like most fans, don't give a damn about them. I shouldn't have to click on "Men" to read about MY team! The entire lay-out is pathetic, especially if you use the search facility. It doesn't even have up-to-date Hall of Fame info. A real change is needed but will Bisgrove make sure it does? PS we still don't have wi-fi that works inside Ibrox. As for the new kiosk menu......what a joke.

David Morton

Great interview David. But I can’t help but feel it was just a PR exercise. Particularly when he states that the club is trying to be transparent in regards to how many tickets go into each tier. Is it not just the amount of registrations that is communicated via email? Also on ticket pricing I’d be interested to know why it’s only been the champions league that has had tiered pricing (season ticket prices apart) Why are the premium priced seats the same price as everywhere else for the cup game against Dundee in a couple of weeks?

Doug

I'm genuinely surprised he thinks the website is in top condition. I think it's awful. He mentioned Man City in that section so in comparison: When I open their homepage on desktop I can see their navigation menu, a top feature, two other content/news options and their next fixture information (in addition to a banner ad). When I open our homepage I can see the navigation menu and half of our next fixtures box. The vast majority of the screen is a massive photo, which to make matters worse isn't even clickable into any content. Everything on the website is huge at 100% compared to other sites. I compared Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and even Celtic, whose website also has a large photo landing page but still manages to display five items of content. The site does admittedly, display very nicely on mobile and that may well be the focus given the amounts of click through I image comes via mobile platforms but even so, the desktop offer is woeful in my opinion and really needs looking at. Scrolling through content & things like Rangers TV is a real chore.

Doug

They should produce a monthly/quarterly digital newsletter where the different areas of the club can write a piece on how things have been going, address fan issues and cover anything else they'd like. You could have something from the Chairman, MD, DoF&FD, SD and DoC&M. You could also have a Captain's section to discuss how the team's been feeling and maybe other bits like Edminson House progress, photo's etc. They could dust off the old 'Rangers News' branding for it too.

Maca82

The Man City comparison is wild, I recently signed up as a sigh ‘Citzyen’ as my 9 year old wanted to go to see them. The customer journey in wanky speak was superb from googling their website, navigating, sign up, purchase and subsequent marketing. I would go as far as to say it was easier to look at games and select one (big Joe looking forward to seeing you again) than it was booking via mygers for West Ham pre season. Add to that free comps for kids etc, tailored content based on fav player selection etc and it’s light years from us. Not a go at oor Davie as I felt he grilled Bisgrove properly throughout just a wild take out website is basic and the bolts on’s are brutal. That’s before I start on kitbag can do a kids Tav/Alfie etc top and the link to Castore doesn’t allow personalisation.

Shevy Kapoor

Good on Bisgrove to come on again and well done David but.....I'm afraid the Board have lost the customer/ consumer / etc whatever the call us. No more Molton Broon please. A ticket system that is fair and works please.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

This helped a lot, thank you for doing this David. We got some answers and it wasn’t all perfect but at least it’s something. I am surprised you never mentioned the food being average to bad considering the price they charge for it David??

Paul Kerr

I think in fairness to Bisgrove he answered what was within his remit, but I'd have liked him to continue until you'd gotten thru all of your questions David. New ticketing partner seems like a positive step. MyGers revenue means it will continue whether we like it or not. I suppose the proof is in the pudding, he says things have to improve in certain areas and they are taking the steps that they will, so let's see if they do.

Jude W

Are supporters clubs integrated at all into the Mygers structure? Supporters clubs are an iconic part Rangers’ culture, it is something that other clubs around the UK look up to, and I hope that that part of ‘loyalty, engagement and experiences’ is integrated in some way into MyGers.

JM

He’s an excellent capitalist and he’s bringing in much needed revenue.

Brian Rae

You asked the questions within JB remit well, David. I would still like to know who was responsible for approving the 55 review renewal on RTV as we were getting trounced by Ajax? That left a very bad taste IMO. One thing I will say is I'll bet the contents of my bank account that if we are in the champions league next season, the prices will still be in the top bracket.

Gary Brown

Great interview David, all the major concerns raised susinctly & focused. And fair play to James Bisgrove for fronting up, engaging and giving answers. Not everyone will like every (or even any) answer given. But all the questions were responded to. Explaination and rationale of decisions were provided. How the club / board feel about how certain situations arose / developed / panned out was also provided. Can the man actually give much more than he did? Maybe! Some things haven't worked out as well as hoped. Some things are 'work in progress' to try and fix. Some errors were made but importantly acknowledged and with a reasonable alternative aired or acceptance the current 'solution' is still not enough. Changes take time and money to examine, find resolution and impliment. 'Can do better''Must do better' and 'Not quite there yet' ARE perfectly acceptable answers IF the problem has been acknowledged and steps are being taken. Is it any different to the manager / players reviewing performance? We get similar phrases - can do better, working on it. Its like waiting for the next transfer window (& available funds) to bring in a solution on the pitch - we have to accept not everything in the business can be 'fixed' at the same time.

Tommy

Good questions David, thanks for representing the support. Bisgrove has delivered and met his remit. He needs to be supported by brand + PR people to provide the necessary guardrails to avoid things like Sydney, to highlight risk of crypto and to reign in exploring the support too much, but ultimately his job is to bring in the revenue and he’s doing it. Communications and PR is the massive issue. Sorry to say but everything points in the direction of one man that I know is a friend of H+H. I would hope he’s aware that a lot of the current storm is in part his doing and improves on this with urgency. Although the lack of any sort of humble apology or acknowledgment of the price fixing debacle suggests that’s not the case. Head burying is still our preferred comms tactic. Until that is resolved, the general tension with the club won’t ever be repaired.

Derek Hamilton

That was an auto renewal.and effectively 1 year after you downloaded. You can cancel it if you want or it will continue each year

Billy Brotherston

For me, that’s the best feedback we’ve had from the club since they decided to stop ignoring the support. I thought the 2 interviews released last week were more gestures without much substance & didn’t provide us with much info but this one was far more open, something I think you’ll always get when it’s fan media & an actual supporter they’re talking to rather than somebody in house. James Bisgrove comes across as the one most switched on so hopefully they’ll continue to communicate like he says they will. Personally, after hearing that interview & the one where Kieran Maguire explained the finances with Tommy McIntyre on another site I feel a lot better informed about where we are placed going forward. Would’ve thought the club could’ve have relayed some of the stuff that came from Maguire rather than it coming from an outsider looking in but I don’t suppose that’s too big an issue.

Brian Rae

Yes, I know that but highlighting that particular week and everything that was happening at that time, the timing was everything. Most of the RTV subscribers I've spoken with had no idea that there was an auto-renew in place. Me personally, mine wasn't enabled anyway, for some reason. Let's also call it out for what it is, a blatant money grab that will put many off purchasing that type of media delivery in the future. Give me VHS/DVD any day. 😀

Euan Dover

Good tough questions!

Iain Henderson

Genuine transparency around away tickets would be an end of season report (or anytime) showing 'here's how many people got 8 tickets, here's how many people got 7', and so on... Until that underlying likelihood that a small number of people get a lot of the tickets, and that situation becomes self-perpetuating then's there is no real point is telling us how many went into each tier. I don't expect that transparency to happen any time soon.

Pedro

Hilarious that he is indicating MyGers was born out of his sense of justice over away ticketing that was raised at an agm 😅.
