David is joined again by Adam and Stevie to review the managers thoughts on todays depressing 1-1 draw with Livingston

General consensus is he has to go but given that some of the back room staff are recent additions are we somewhat linked in with the City Group , I liked a lot of what Bowley said with Adam and Ally which then made me think that that was the road we were going down . Or would the whole lot get binned ?

I am now fully on the Gerrard train. Time for old gripes to be put to the side. He resurrected us and gave us an invincible season, plus he had/has a natural bond with the support. It’s an easy decision for me

While I believe Gio has been dealt a poor hand and has had even worse luck with injury to players today will be the start of his slow death. What cannot be allowed to happen is a caretaker / months of ‘finding the right guy’ nonsense we have had with the most recent changes in regime. Will be very interesting to see who is going to come in and what the rhetoric is around a new appointment in terms of squad revamp. Matter of time now so let’s just get on with it. Adam is spot on regarding the players, for me they have at least as much blame as he shoulders.

Right now for me the manager chat is a side issue, the players should be fucking ashamed of that. When they all of a sudden show the drive and urgency to win the game in the 7 minutes stoppage time that they lacked in the 90 minutes prior you know as a collective that they are fucking at it. Kent suddenly came to life on 89 minutes after another lifeless performance. He's the most extreme example but with the exception of Ben Davies nobody of the outfield players can honestly look at themselves and tell themselves they did everything possible to win that game.

Callum Dinnen

Gerrard isn't the answer. We were served up plenty of dross like today by him as well.

For me Gio has to go but the thing that annoys me more than the manager and others in senior positions at the club is the majority of the players. I get we look devoid of ideas and its evident we are not as coached as we were or have been in previous campaigns but in previous campaigns apart from 55 season a large group of these players in our squad have went out and took to the field wearing our strip and lacked effort. Think back to ex-managers 1st season came back after break went on a stupid run dropped points lost the title , 2nd season if covid never stoped the game it was only getting worse domestically. Then last season after break again domestically inept performances which our Europa run overshadowed. Then this season away in belgium we were rotten , every game in group stage the same. Game against that lot at there ground the same , away at fir park , home against dundee utd , dundee and today all the same. And the 1 thing that is lacking which should be a non question for any player when putting our jersey on is 100% effort and commitment but take all these instances i have mentiond and think back what was the biggest thing missing 100% effort and commitment. Yes as i said the manager has a lot to answer for with how poor we are looking and that is on him but the players shouldnt need a manger to tell them when to move the ball quicker when to move positions if things are not working out they should kno to do that themselves. Only player you see constantly shouting to up tempo is McGregor and the rest just continue to play lackluster football. If they dont have faith and trust in the instructions they are being asked to carry out from gio then they can still go out and give 100% for the fans instead of phoning it in and making us suffer.

The signs were there last January after the break, glossed over by europa run. This manager should have been chased long ago along with Wilson.

He also served us a lot of dross that we have been watching this season. Yes 55 was excellent but even that season his team still served up many bad performances the 2 cups spring to mind. Season before that hearts in the cup when a large majority were wanting him gawn, killie the first game back in his 1st season. Yes he gave us 55 but we watched a lot of uninspiring games under him. For me i would if we get rid ov gio try and tempt the bodo/glimt manager to take over us.

Spoon

How quick we forget his games where we aimlessly crossed …..

Team of bedwetters. The mainstay of this side over the last 5 or so seasons revert back to their comfort shells and do what they do. So called leaders in this side (experienced) dont lead at all. Pathetic.

Thomas

So if the board are gonna refuse to sack gio until it’s to late do we as fans just have to write off the league in October . Because that’s basically what the board are doing if this continues till day March. It’s gonna be very similar to that lot in our 55 season. Toxic every week. Saying finally this might be it only for it to drag on

Thomas

Wilson , Robertson must go also . Arguably the board as well but that’s harder since you realistically need a buyer

Martin Davies

Gio can't turn this around. For a start, there is not a single in-form player in that squad. Players are regressing at an alarming rate. They don't look fit and some appear to be carrying injuries. Confidence is rock bottom. We've been awful since the start of the season. We don't create enough clear cut chances, and Colak's clinical finishing from minimal chances has actually papered over the cracks and kept us in the title race. I mentioned before that Gio's objectives for the season would be CL qualification and winning the title. You could make a case to keep him in position, but he's definitely lost the fans and in my eyes also the players. Hopefully Robertson acts quickly while we can still salvage the season. And I want both Gio and Wilson gone.

Fed up of it. You see Davis, Tav(injured), Arfield(4th game in a week or so), Kent (dont get me started) and so on and its just awful. Something big needs to happen. And quickly. The cup final draw happened and I seen the sheep and thought, aw fuck. Thats how bad it is. And its not just Gio. Its been this way for a while. But he has to go.

Steven Robertson

I get called a dinosaur because I like an "old school" captain. Too many of our leaders are the "lead by example" type, but what do you do when they're shit out of form & look like they've chucked it? Unfortunately I think it's now been proven that tav is not a leader for hard times but is there anyone better to take over the captaincy? Not that I can see. Players get managers sacked but Gio definitely hasn't done himself any favours.

Callum Gordon

Didn’t think we were but with Gio and Bowley having links it does seem there in the background

Douglas Hannah

Gio knows his time is up, we are just watching a game where he keeps coming away with the same bollocks until someone at board level makes the call and pays him Roy Makaay off, utter shambles, Ross Wilson has to go too, the thought of him being responsible for picking our next manager and any new players fills me with fear.

Ross

Anyone idea ball park numbers to pay Gio and staff off ?

Scott

I'd say around £5-7m

Colin McConnell

Gio out with big K Thompson taking the rains till the World Cup while proper due diligence on getting new permanent manger in place. KT should be able to put a bit of steel at least in there would hold the ship domestically at least till we find the right man. Never know he might prove he could be right man

Pedro

Results not good enough and performances poor is spot on David :/ Sorry Adam but you don't get to say results are OK except the Livi and Parkhead as they unfortunately do count.
