Get rid of the term Bealeball please leave that cringe for the great unwashed.

Fair is a place where you trade pigs. Outstanding 😃

Gary Shaw

I think long term it’s going to work but the question is : Is he going to get 18 months???

John Davidson

Welcome back chaps. Whilst we're on the subject of illness and injuries, have the three of you ever been fully fit at the same time? You're the podders Rangers deserve! 🤣

Greg

David Gilfillan

Great pod guys. There's absolutely an opportunity to close in on them over the season. My main concern is the tough run of fixtures coming up and i don't see many injured players back from the training pics. His main requirement is to demonstrate that the players are on board an show good energy from the start. The January window is massive, we need a couple of positive signings to help the squad out. I would 100% punt Buff, Kamara and Kent in Jan if we get any sort of offers in for them.

Spoon

Great pod gents. Don’t want to sound confrontational as I take a lot of what Stevie and Kev say on board but can’t help feel there’s a lot of working back from Gio being someone some fans didn’t like and just can’t be objective about. Despite Alex best efforts to give context (not excuses) and balance even things that are grudgingly accepted as not really Gios fault somehow are ultimately still used as sticks to beat him with. He is however gone and it leads to the question Alex posed about what is success for Beale. If you were being flippant you could say he has to win the league as clearly for some regardless of circumstance that’s the Beale all and end all. Any factor like having a shattered squad and a points gap is just excuses and who said it was fayre ? That’s a place you sell pigs etc if Gio got 12 months and then chopped logic says Beale gets the same ? All kidding aside I understand Beale saying the squad isn’t as bad as people think but. I don’t buy it and I’m not sure he really believes that either. With this squad success this season would be developing a style and rotating some of the less committed and under performing out and getting some of the new signings, younger talent bedded in to try and form a core for next season. I understand that regardless of how the players have performed there simply isn’t a way to shed 20 bodies out the squad but I am currently struggling to get back onboard with some of the more obvious big names who have not only let us down this season but seasons past. My enthusiasm for cheering on a group who to my mind are the largest factor in where we are has gone and it’s going to take something more than them switching back on to get me back onside. I disagree totally with Kev on Morelos, much like others with Gio I just don’t see him as the hero others do and now would much prefer Colak as our main striker going forward as any sympathy I had for him has been killed this season with his fitness neglect. There’s a weird feeling around the team, for those that didn’t like the Gio reign it seems that a lot of the issues have been solved, slates have been cleaned and we need to all get onboard with positivity. For those who aren’t as convinced it was really Gios fault or that he wasn’t at the very best severely hamstrung and let down by others in club I’m not sure there’s a lot about Beale that changes things or gives optimism. As I mentioned I’m not as enamoured by some of the wayward stars who are now all ripped for rebirth and rehabilitation, not only do I disagree about their overall contributions and quality I don’t really see why we have to keep giving them another chance when history tells you they will let you down again. The job has been polarised in recent years to much more of an all or nothing that it was before. I’m not sure any previous manager gets the sack with the circumstances Gio had and the position the team is in regardless and if we are committed to a player trading model or a youth development model some realism in terms of ability to continuously win the league when the main rival has a larger war chest and stability perhaps needs considered. We win some trophies, we get a team infield that’s energetic and scoring goals and we bring through the guys like Ridvan, Tillman, settle in Davies and Lawerence and get the press back and as long as he gets some kind of results in Europe I think that’s about as much as he can do. If winning a cup, CL qualification and Euro Finals exit on penalties wasn’t enough though anything can happen! Good to hear you all back on the show 👍🏻

League title by end of 23/24 and a couple of cups but progress and visible improvement is also key.

David_Davy_Dave

Already bored hearing about Lowry This next 6 months is make or break for him. Simple as that. Fun fact… Alex Lowry is 6 days older than Jude Bellingham… he shouldn’t be a prospect he should be a first pick if the hype is in anyway justified

Scott

Two of the domestic cups this season would be a success in my book. For me, the league is done.

Jim Bennett

Good listen but have to disagree with Kev's point about Aaron Ramsay, he was clearly an ego trip deal for Ross Wilson. It was obvious that Juve wanted rid of him as they could barely get 2 games in a row from him, and what did we get?

Jim Bennett

And by the way I believe Ross Wilson's prime responsibility is to have good quality in the 1st team, rather than making some money from dubious signings or is that now the model?

Craig Armstrong

Great pod again boys, with some salient points made. For me Beale must be winning the league by the end of next season and at least 2 domestic trophies one of them this season, to be considered a success domestically. As for Europe another UCL group stage appearance is a must and some positive results in that field are just as important. We'll need to see what happens, but I am looking forward to Thursday a little more now than I was after the St Mirren game

Kev Roberts

In 18 months he has too and will win the league WATP
