I love Steven Davis . My abiding memories are too vast to overlook his quality and achievements . I take a more philosophical approach to the injury, his age and physical influence was always going to be on the wane. So if this is the end of his contribution to the club as a player . It could be no bad thing for all concerned. Repeated injuries is a byproduct of ageing players in top level competitive football .I say this with total respect for the player. Rangers need dynamic energy that only youth can bring.

This is the time for Charlie McCann to force himself into the team if he can’t then he either isn’t good enough or doesn’t have the desire. This is not a dig at him it’s just that he was regarded by some as the natural successor. It’s difficult to say what position we should be looking to strengthen as the manager has said that by the next international break he expects everyone fit, the players we have at the club should be enough but unless someone exceptional becomes available ahead of schedule it may be more prudent to hold .

Youd think Rangers would step in with a new contract for Steven Davis , rip up existing contract and give him a new one on 50% of his current deal but for 18 months....... would be a great thing to do , Steven Davis is not a charity case but sometimes you have to do the right thing by 1 of our own
