How about the role next season of Lowry, King, Devine and your pick of the B team players or other academy players next season?

Louch

Can’t agree on kent staying after the arguments for Morelos to go, 5 years of kent and nothing to show he’s improving at goalscoring which costs us. It’s time to stop being mid 90s Celtic and clinging to players who Don’t give the numbers that win leagues and trophies consistently. He’s been good but we need to have better

Stuart McWilliams

The section on Morelos is a tough listen, my heart says keep him but my head agrees that it's time to say goodbye. If he hadn't been injured last season, and had continued the good form, I think he would have moved on in the summer.

Mark Rennie

Kamara sell, lundstram keep. But for this alone I'd let jack leave, Since Jack joined rangers, he's missed 625 days injured, missed 114 games, and with his calf injury, he's missed 259 days and 44 games and currently out injured again with a calf Injury.

Tommy

Couldn’t agree with a point you made on Morelos, Adam. I’ve got quite a few mates who, if Alfie banged a hat trick in at the weekend, still would struggle to compliment Morelos. I’d say a sizeable amount of the support are like this. And you know what, neither extreme camp is helpful for a sensible conversation

John leitch

Keep Kent and Jack Offload Kamara and Alfie Quite a few coming off the wage bill this summer so budget should allow some regeneration

Mark

Adam said that the highs with Alfredo are becoming less frequent - you wouldn't agree with that statement Tommy?

Mark

Of those mentioned on the show, I would only be for retaining Kent. Kamara needs to be sold in order to maintain the much-vaunted player-trading model, RJ is injured again, right ahead of a game we need to win against the filth and as for alfredo, I love him, I wish it was different - but it isn't. I'm going into big games now hoping that he will score and being pleasantly surprised when he puts a performance in like he did against Hearts recently. But these days are too few and far between, sadly.

Adam

It feels a bit like we are at the stage in our 'reestablishment process' (I know I'm a wank), that we need to ditch the 'training wheels' and start rebuilding the side. By that I mean, begin to move on players that were here throughout the process of the first rebuild and resurgence under Gerrard. Guys like Alfie, Kamara, Jack and Arfield, should probably go with their heads held high. I think a section of the support wanted them out a few seasons earlier, but the Covid effected market/impact on our balance sheet and the fact the turmoil we've had in terms of backroom staff has led to some staying longer than perhaps was warranted or appreciated. The same applies to Davis and McGregor, both key figures in re-establishing ourselves, but I don't think their presence is needed, especially on the pitch. Obviously you cant get rid of everyone and I think at least one or two will stay alongside Ryan Kent (hopefully). There's enough senior players within the dressing room imo, we don't need a raft of experienced players anymore, we need hungry players with a point to prove. I don't think many of the above players have much left to show us, we know what they are, we know how good they are and we know what their weaknesses are. I think there's a section of the support where the resentment for those players is already too high, for a number of reasons. I think Jack is probably the only one out of that group that the fans would be able to see the merits in keeping. When you look at the number of players that are going just by virtue of their contracts running out, it's quite mad to think that there's still a few more within the squad that should perhaps be moving on too. Very strong case to be made that Roofe should be among that crop of players going. Borna, has divided opinion for a while, perhaps likely gets another year due to the simple fact we haven't seen enough of Yilmaz yet. Then there's guys like McLaughlin and Wright, who lets face it are probably not good enough. It's a massive summer we've got coming up, it's been a long time coming.

Tommy

I disagreed with one specific element of what he said, trying to highlight my perception that there’s as many digging their heels in against Alfie as there is for him. That’s all, plenty of other points discussed that were spot on

Robert Tringham

The anti-Morelos talk rubs me the wrong way. Harking back to performances in previous seasons, and look at the lack of quality he was surrounded by. Despite being out of contract at the end of the season, and previously discarded by Gio, he played for a month for Beale while injured… not a lot of other players would be willing to do that… especially when you look at the queue lining up for the treatment table I’d keep him, but make sure his contract is based on performance - he gets it, he hates them… I’d keep him

Spoon

100% agree, the rationale for the first two applies equally to Kent. It’s about value for money and output not sentimentality and like it or lump it he is as stale as the others who have been here for multiple contracts. The idea we can replace Morelos with a Morelos like player but can’t do the same with Kent just isn’t logical, there are players with pace who can score in the wage / fee bracket that Kent sits. I also don’t think effort is something you can’t get from another player, he’s gone stale and gets a pass for me. A good servant yes, irreplaceable not for me. More than anything the core group badly needs shaken up and having to change style due to personnel changes would interest me more than just watching the same guys doing the same stuff year in year out, for all he is billed as a game changer I’m not sure I see what others do in him. Far too often he runs into dead ends, across the field and can’t finish. I don’t think in a team that’s starved of goals we can carry a forward who doesn’t score.

Spoon

Time for all to go for me, all have had their best years and are on the slide. We desperately need to break this obsession with holding onto people past their sell by or based on a few games a season where they shine. For me our lack of willingness as a club to explore markets and refresh the squad is lazy and lacks imagination. We are almost grateful for flawed guys like Kent as we don’t believe he’s replaceable when the reality is there will be lots of dynamic forwards (some can even score) across the various leagues, guys like Ridvan and Raskin prove if you look and do your work you can get quality. As one podder said nothing wrong with thanking folk for their service and parting ways knowing it’s probably best for all.

Bob MacCallum

McGregor, Arfield, Davis, Helander, Jack, Sands, Morelos - all MUST go. Plus maybe the lesser-spotted Matondo. Think what we could do with their total wages.

David Speedie

Not even listened to the pod yet but the choice of song for the intro bodes well

Gregg

I’d keep Kent - torn on Morelos - would probably be okay with the rest leaving. We’ve been trying to get a player as good as kent for the right for 4 year - we have yet to find one. It’s not as easy as some people would have us believe.

Ryan Stewart

Kent is a definite keep for me. Kamara is a definite go, even though he’s been one of my favourite players over the last few years. Morelos and Jack are tough ones, I’m probably at a similar stage you to guys in that I’d currently let Alfie go and probably just about keep Jack. The injuries have to come into consideration for Jack though. Beale has said he wants to trim the squad and go in with 21 outfield players. 2 for each position and 3 number 9s. Could we afford to have a 21 man squad if the 3 of those 21 are Souttar, Jack and Roofe? You could probably supplement that with academy players but I still feel like that would leave us a bit short in some areas
