Content

Alan continues his travels back in time to cover three fantastic Gers games, one European and two domestic cup final victories from days of yore.  As usual, news, movies and music from those times are included within the mix.

Loved the 84 content. Bit of Nik Kershaw and my first Old Firm win after numerous attempts. If we hadn’t won after being 2-0 up I’d have declared myself as a Jonah.

Steve Clark

Are you trying to get h&h shut down!!! last week you mentioned Michael Stone, this week it’s Gerry Adams being shot😎😂😂

Steve Clark

first win i seen against them as well and we got an added bonus of beating them at ibrox in the league as well,a few weeks later.

Bob MacCallum

Another great show. I was at that Bilbao game. Great night. Re Colin Stein's 6 WEEK suspension, chairman of the Disciplinary Committee was Celtic's chairman, Sir Robert Kelly. Of course, Stein was badly missed in the closing weeks if that season as we lost the league narrowly and Celtic beat us in the Cup Final.

Alan Bradley

I’m convinced if it wasn’t for his suspension would have definitely won another shiny thing (or two).

Angus Mackay

Great show Alan . Look forward to next week already ,

Angus Mackay

Not at all , another few weeks until may2 , back to 1987 that week 🤣 pittodrie , what a day that was . Laters mate

Billy Gibb

Brilliant Show Alan!

Stephen Millar

Thanks for the shout out for the Rangers Archives Alan, website due to launch next week.

Alan Bradley

You’re welcome pal. Looking forward to viewing and using the new website. Also on The Forum tomorrow, so I’ll give that a listen too.

Dingus

Absolutely loved that Alan. Bit worrying I remember the 1984 stuff better than 2005. As soon as you played the cup final commentary I could visualise Bob Valentine pointing to the spot for Ally’s first. Magic Music. Guess the year is great for the grey matter. Roll on the next show - great work 👏🏻👏🏻

Alan Bradley

Thanks Dingus, I know what you mean re the grey matter. I go upstairs to record the show each week and at times wonder why I’m up there. 😂 Glad you’re enjoying the series.

David Bill

Best yet Alan Loved the music choices Funny you mentioned Montrose and Sammy Hager I went to see status quo about 73 at the Apollo. Montrose opened for them Everyone was given a flexible little record that had a few tracks on it Love the format

Alan Bradley

Thanks David. Funny you mentioning Quo too, although they weren’t as highly rated as many of the other rock bands (three or four chords), loved seeing them live at the Apollo, especially when the circles started to shake. Excellent live boogie band.

John Walker

Great show again Alan. Also like news input at the time .1984 a monumental year in the structure of Britain with the miners strike which in my opinion has seen the demise in the social fabric of the country . Anyway enough about the 'witch' , there were no spaces in our end as jock famously said afterwards. Great day and that's when Ally 's rangers career took off. Liked the thin Lizzy one Al even though I'm an old punk I can appreciate Gary Moore and lynett.

Alan Bradley

Thanks Johnnie, yeah Miners strike was really significant at that time snd impacted big time going forward. At the time Ravenscraig was part of my Royal Mail delivery/collection and remember driving there in my Post van. Unions were ok with us clearing the plant, but hunners of Police and pickets as the Yuill & Dodds lorries speeded through was a horrible sight to see.

John Walker

Yes mate it was a horrible time for those communities. Gary Moore 'Parisienne walkways ' great song.

Martin Davies

Keep up the good work Alan Great show
