John Smith

It’s about time we had a CEO again

Graeme Wilson

I knew there was a reason the DU was early!

Tamus

Bisgrove is Slime

Robert

The wavers of the sellik-shark-thrower-style banners have now had both of their demands granted. Can't wait to see who they throw under the bus next if we don't win on Sunday.

Alan Stewart

I hope Bisgrove does better than the last commercial MD that made the step up to CEO? There is no doubts that Bisgrove has done a very good job. It’s a massive step to to CEO though. Good luck to him

Shevy Kapoor

Well I hope Bisgrove stops being so aloof. He needs to start on the right footing with the fans and stop the corporate chat. I'm not convinced he's the guy. We really should have had a robust interview process or have we....?!

Tamus

I didnt personally know Fred West but I don't like him either

Brian Rae

Unsurprising. I'm sure Bisgrove will become a massive upgrade. The 3 people who were in the top roles became stale and were holding the club back. Hopefully these changes quickly improve the club.

DAVID PARK

ha ha, was just about to post the same thing. Next time it is that early alarm bells will be ringing :)

Stuart McCall

This is what happens when you do an early daily update! Keep it up 😀

James Paterson

Announcement made and heart and hand had a podcast recorded and out before most other outlets had even reported it 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣

David

For the man who arranged the old firm fat Ange homecoming shit show... He has some impressing to do to win the fans over.

Neil Wilson

Yeah. Also the club updates chat has been mentioned again and this appears in the official announcement: James will be hosting a new quarterly CEO fans’ forum at Edmiston House alongside other members of the club's senior management, with the first such event taking place in June. Details on how to attend will be shared with season ticket holders, MyGers members and our valued Rangers Supporters Clubs in the coming days, with a report of these events to be shared with all supporters following their conclusion.

Jock Wallace

Bye bye Comical Stu, you won't be missed

Scotty

Massive! 🔴⚪️🔵

stefan strzelecki

I have confidence that with his previous UEFA experience , work ethic, and PR skills, he will enhance our club . Particularly during SPFL meetings on future sponsorship strategy, I think our board and corporate leaders today look innovative, proficient , and complimentary to the historic standards of our club. Well done Rangers🇬🇧

Tamus

Maybe youre happy with the inhouse promotion of Mr Sydney Cup, I'm not

Gregg

Change is for the best - Robertson and others have done a remarkable job in turning the club into a sustainable and viable business. Big step up for Bisgrove - thought he comes across well in interviews. Think he will be more communicative - folk will be saying he talks too much in a couple of months.

Gregg

Out of interest - what does make you happy? Are you generally a happy person?

Russell McGhee

I think Robertson gets a raw deal. Ross Wilson had to go given our failures in recruitment, but I think Robertson has done a more than decent job.

Gregg McKee

Both should have been gone after the Sydney debacle. At least Bisgrove fronted up about it

Gregg

Just concerned mate - you seem angry a lot of the time. Sending you a big 🫂

Graeme McGregor

Pleased to see Robertson gone but unsure if Bisgrove is the right appointment. Time will tell, and hopefully he makes a positive difference.

Rona Bluebell

Interesting timing. Fair play not to hold this back to next week as ammunition if Sunday goes south.

Paul Kerr

Could be huge, it certainly seems like the new Chairman asked a few people to consider their futures. I see Bisgrove as being fairly ruthless. He went after his targets quite aggressively. Something that could come in handy. We'll see.

Douglas Innes

For those who wanted and " championed " this i hope they are happy with the news .......personally I think along the lines of " be careful what you wish for "

andy rose

Get rid of 1 wanker then give another a promotion

William Jolly

What’s the bigger picture here and where does David King fit in?

Andy Forgrieve

This is a very forward thinking move imo. I also wonder how much is going on behind the scenes regarding ESL 2.0 type discussions, as putting Bisgrove in as the CEO would make a lot of sense for that with his past experiences at UEFA.

Paul Kerr

Success will always be the barometer as you said, but we're more than ready for a change of tact. I have always got the impression he believes the club has to engage with supporters and that would definitely be welcome as too often we let others fill the vacuum.

Allan

I think this might help us grow. Bisgrove is a modern executive, has proven success in the commercial sphere, and comes across as a ruthless operator driven to meet and exceed his remit. Made mistakes? Sure, but can learn and drive us forward. I'm upbeat about it.

Kenny Morrison

I sense a hint of sarcasm ? The guy is a wet wipe letting Morelos and Kent run their contracts down is nothing short of criminal negligence .

Kenny Morrison

Park and Robertson and the midget gem have only left because of the banners with their faces on them not the club being proactive for the coming seasons .

Douglas Innes

Nope no sarcasm , imagine if how all 3 viewed the last 12 months in how its went from their own personal point of view coupled with Michael Beale saying only weeks ago that going forward we'll have a leaner squad ( I'm reading that as less investment ) maybe they are deciding if the last 4-5 years have been tough the next 2-3 will probably be harder .

Douglas Innes

In regards players running down contracts there's not much the club can do , Morelos probably wasn't on just Wilson and did we ever receive a bid for Kent ?

Heart and Hand

I don’t think that’s true - if anything, protests would more likely make Park stick around - but anyway: Does it matter? The fact is they’ve left. Do we always have to frame absolutey everything as a negative?

Kenny Morrison

Probably does matter ! they knew they were not wanted and have now left and none of it was planned that’s all .

Heart and Hand

That's fair, it probably wasn't planned but I'm just glad the realisation has come that it needed to be done. We couldn't go on like that.

Adam

A few easy wins for Bisgrove early doors. Appoint footballing people to oversee footballing departments. If Michael Beale wants a bigger overarching role in first team matters, then appoint someone to work that beat alongside him and to cover the rest. Be that a director of football, sporting director or technical director. Safe Standing. It's a tap in for the fans. Do it. Get it done. I don't see the downside at all. It's not going away, more and more clubs are doing it. That's two very easy wins that would reassure the fanbase moving forward.
