Balogun signing is uninspiring. Cover or not, we've already got a walking Souttar who has a terrible record with injuries - any centre back we have for cover can realistically be expected to play at some point, and Balogun can't be relied upon in terms of injury issues either.

Robert White

It's a risk but Balogun is risk free other than injury. A great defender and loves the club. I like it.

John Smith

I truly don’t understand why Big Leon gets so much stick. I’m raging we even let him go in the first place. He’s a brilliant defender and I think he’ll prove vital this season. Welcome home soon hopefully Mr Balogun

John Smith

And incidentally get well soon Leon King. You keep your head up wee man

Gregg

Would like to see Davies go and another one in - if balogun is in addition to that seems a no brainer

Doug Young

No issue at all if Balogun comes back in as cover. Always ran his heart out, seemed like a very positive influence around the club and loved the place. He had fewer dodgy performances than many of our first picks and that right-back performance against Cellik was absolutely phenomenal.

Stewart Robertson

He knows what it means to play for us, and he WANTS to be here.

Luke

Balogun coming in on a free, on what will likely be reduced wages is decent business. The injury concerns are valid but as far as 4th choice centre back options, could we get anybody better? Understood the club quickly and always played his heart out. He’s also an experienced player that can shepherd some of the new faces. If we are wanting Dessers to succeed, it won’t hurt having an international team mate kicking about for him to talk to.

Fraser Hutcheson

A bit concerned about resigning Balogun and our recruitment at CB in general. We knew coming into this summer Goldson would miss start of the season, leaving us with Souttar (who remains a concern injury wise) and Davies (majority seem to think he won’t be here long term), yet we have focused mostly on signing forward players. I like Balogun but he didn’t have a squeaky clean injury record either.. hope I’m proven wrong.

Graeme Glennie

And we are absolutely sure that with our previous injury record we won't be leaning on balogun come February onwards? Business end of the season is balogun the one you want waiting in the ranks? Haven't we had these conversations before and we all pretty much agreed as a support forward was the direction. No more sentimentality was what I would hear from fellow supporters. I hope I'm wrong but not for me sorry.

Adam

Gutted for young Leon, he was heading into this season after having been called up to train with the senior national team this summer too. I felt he was poised to build upon and grow after his harsh lessons last season. Happy for Elder Leon, cheap option to come in and play as a 5th choice. He lifts the pressure on the likes of Panzo should they come in. He was also excellent against Red Star Belgrade two seasons. He played his part in 55 and the road to Seville. A good guy to have around the dressing room. I felt it was daft to let him go in the first place. Understand the injury worries though.

John Smith

The amount of goals we lost that I think he wouldn’t have allowed is frightening

Adam

Not to completely pish on your proverbial chips here but. Leon Balogun during his previous spell at the club was available at the 'business end' of the season. Featured heavily towards the end of the 55 season and was on the bench in Seville, started the cup final against Hearts.

Piggott

A wouldn't have signed him back, I did like him but I would have liked someone younger and with less of a injury history

Graeme Glennie

Fair point but we are 2 to 3 years apart from those achievements though. Featured heavily in a season we had won the league by February. Had constant injury issues through season after I'm sure. This season is going to be intense and require a massive push through the whole squad, right down to the 5th choice CB. I feel there has got to be more effective players out there for back up. We have a history of going back in for players due to our relationship with them previously and I think it has to stop. We're not cut throat enough and our trophy room shows that I'm afraid.

Ryan Lynch

Poirot was never an Inspector 😉

Spoon

No issue with Balogoun, sensible cover, knows the club, fits in the other squad and as back up or to off load in the early cup games or throw on as a sub I can see the appeal. Good to help Dessers settle in too.

Tom

Get well soon young Leon, best of luck to big Leon, a journalist asking a footballer a question about football? It'll never catch on! Happy 12th brothers and sisters, enjoy your day.❤️🤚🏻🗡️🛡️

Graham Jones

I have n issue with the Balogun signing, because it’s a one year deal as a stop gap. Gutted for Leon King, though. Just as he was about s=to start a big season for him, where he would be expected to make a push after what was a big learning curve last season. Balogun will be more of a help than a hinderance in the dressing room.

Martin Sutherland

Moved to Liverpool 2 years ago and haven’t had many nights out in the city centre of Glasgow since, gutted to hear Drop shut. The ultimate coupon day boozer

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David & Adam. Balogun is a good signing for cover and as a senior pro, a winner playing key parts in our biggest successes since coming back to the top flight; 55, cup winner, europa league final. Also 'cover' for the senior heads, who left, Greegs & Arfield who know the club and its standards. The self serve beer thing is fun but not as much fun as you'd imagine! Effectively a beer pump vending machine. Use contactless, pull your own pint, it vends 1 pint, done.

Tamus

That song totally rips off Kid Rock

Graeme Burns

Happy 12th David Edgar wrong again, I have no opinion of Balogun rejoining, just quiet acceptance. There you go.

Colin Wieland

I have really tried to put this negative thought out of my head, but I just can't. I'll be amazed if King is the only player we lose before the start of the season to a long term injury.

gordon naughton

leon balogun transfer says alot about the youth system or lack of it, no emergency cover ?

Rose Mcloughlin

Get wel soon young Leon age is on your side so just stay calm...and as for the "older" Leon I think that was a smart move by the manager as he will play his heart out for us if asked to stand in...I remember 1 old firm gave he came on for tav who was ill and he ran celtic ragged I love him..wee end note I told my brother in Canada a life long Rangers fan to tune into H@H but especially David Edger...he then commented he is full of himself..This I 100%agree with David is full of knowledge...a wicked sense of humour and always shows respect to most people..but more comes on after a game and never hides his emotion and its always exactly how we are feeling...so my big bro has a lot to learn...keep up the good work you are a great bunch.

Jamie Kirk

David, Your michale Beale and your 4th choice defender gets a bad injury. He hasn’t planned for it. He could panic buy a player he doesn’t know very well. Spend money. And have a guy who takes minutes away from Leon king when Leon king comes back and needs to regain his fitness and position in the team. Or you could spend little money on a guy he knows and trusts and who can be a great addition to the dressing room who offers leadership and has been and won the league before. It’s a great move for us. When Leon king is back, Balogun moves aside with no issues. No financial outlay. Don’t get everyone’s negativity. He’s passed medical. He will manage his body. Trust Beale and the people who have more info and more knowledge than anyone here.

Mr J K Murray

will the antlion [they are ruthless} bring equipartion, hic, have bought some new hike' boots so who is are next person[s] of interest sirs,do i need cover to travel, lol, yis,i,the influence of habit on the faculty of thinking, hence hence echo your thoughts within these positions in the undulatorty continues of injuries, still in a slight' confused with the peices bought in, can these players do football professionalism or are more michelin star cooking with der ball, in only turn up at certain games, consistency is required, a system

Jonny Wilson

“A happy twelfth bank holiday” 🤔

Colin Mathie

We didn't buy Sterling to stick him on the bench every week, if he's fit, he plays.

Great pod - you lovely pair!💙 Bloody hell - Balogun signing is a complete no brainer! He is a fantastic option as cover! He’ll make a max of 10 games but what a 10 games it will be! Love him to bits. As you say David he is a great teammate, (perhaps leader in the dressing room), loves our wonderful club, gets it, fits in seamlessly, and is a massive goal threat in the opposition box! Economically superb! However the Leon King news is pretty scandalous! He should never be getting that sort of impact injury in training - can you please prob this a bit more! Genuinely love the young lad - but how the bloody hell does that happen in training? 😱😱🤬🤬 Not been this excited about a league season since Advocaat joined! But then we had a proper medical team! 😜💙💙👍👍 Keep up the excellent work - WATP!

Billy Forrester

We focused on signing forward players as that’s the area why we lost the league last season, we couldn’t score goals when required and our forwards were abysmal. The vast majority of money needed spent on the forward line this season. We will add another centre back I’m sure but for me the forwards were the huge issue and that’s been addressed thank god

Robert White

Sorry sobered up. Happy 12th yesterday!
