Borna, shambles. Tav really only offers pens these days. Davies just being Davies, weak and lethargic. We play very narrow for me and allow teams to attack our full backs who arent great at defending! Get Sterling up to speed and get him playing. Lammers and Dowell the ones who standout so far. Oh, Lundstrum needs to go aswell. Came on and just gave it away twice in a row with 10 yard passes. Anyway, onto Saturday!

New faces but same tactics either being directed by manager or adopted in spite of him by players, the pattern or play remains the same tippy tappy about the middle but no cutting edge. There’s no excuses for the manager, he has his own players (but seems obsessed with some of the old guard) and he has had time to implement a system. We need to be quicker to spot when guys just aren’t good enough and stop giving chance after chance to guys who don’t deliver, Lundstrum was useless ditto Matondo and Sakala. It’s early to jump to doom or gloom but the season isn’t far away and we know from the last few campaigns you can’t drop many points if you want to win this league.

Mr J K Murray

good game, lol, celebrating getting beat, we have seen these players agianst good sides for so long, Mikes' had a year of it,

Old players playing in old ways, who knew!

Ryan Stewart

Usual suspects stinking the place out to the surprise of no one really. Confident enough that the attacking side of it will come with time, defensively is the real worry. Barisic and Davies just won’t do. If I have to watch Barisic sprint to the halfway line to then cut back and pass it to the CB once more I’m gonna scream. Lundstram an embarrassment when he came on summed up by that tackle

I fully agree - it continues to be tippy tappy, very pedestrian and with very little creativity. There’s not that much buzz about us despite this being a fresh team / new start. It feels a bit deja vu where we have a manager saying all the things you want to hear in his interviews but we don’t see it on the park. However I do like the look of the summer signings and believe we have the makings of a really good team….. and if we can just get things clicking early doors then hopefully it will be a great season

Martin Davies

Barisic is so slow, negative and one dimensional, his lack of bravery on the ball spreads and sets a tone throughout the team. Davies doesn't help matters either. They put each other into troublesome situations by passing the buck. I'd happily drive both down south if we cam find buyers. Lundstram had a howler and is nowhere near it. 3 or 4 good months we've had across 2 seasons. There's space in the back of my car for him as well. McLaughlin is a bombscare and if we need to play this guy in a competitive game, we're in trouble. I was never convinced that he was good enough to be our no1 last season and his confidence is so shot that I'm not even sure he is a competent no3. I think we are still playing within ourselves and I won't even start to judge the new guys until we've seen 8-10 competitive games. On a positive note, we have Butland, Goldson, Cifuentes and Danilo to step into the starting 11 and others like Sterling, Lawrence, Jack, Roofe to come back, so we're far from tbe finished article at this moment.

Martin Davies

I think the issue with pre season is that you still need to prepare the old guard for action - whilst they remain Rangers players, we need them to be fit and ready to play, and that means they get game time in these friendlies. We'll get a much better feel for Beale's real plans vs Hoffenheim - I suspect this will be close to the team that will face Kilmarnock.

I get where your coming from but the shape and intent wasn’t there regardless of who was playing. Absolutely not going OTT in terms of doom and gloom, there are some good new players my main concern is how quickly we have resorted to the ineffective possession game, my concern is Beales set up more than personnel, we seem to be set up to be toothless.

Adam cotter

Seriously David you are an absolute shite bag after negative results. I adore you but come on tae fuck. It’s a pre season friendly 🤣

Graham Jones

We looked sluggish throughout the game. I’m holding fire on them until the pre-season is over, because they are doing double sessions as well right now, so they were probably going to play the way they did. We do need to show some patience and not lose our shit over pre-season games. We’ve watched the team win in these games before and then go on to have a poor season. It’s about fitness right now, but I suspect we’ll see them tighten the squad a bit now, as we draw close the the start of competitive games. We do need to bring in another defender on that left side, though.

David Campbell

It's gonna take patience and time. We've got what we've all asked for now it's time to trust the management and back this squad. Once everyone has gelled am sure we will have a very good winning team.

Andrew Hillis

Our manager’s summary of the game was baffling! I know it’s pre season and he is confident things will gel in time for Killie game. However the two key problem statements from last year were horrendously apparent last night - we do seem to concede very easily through multiple basic defending errors and we don’t take our chances! 😱😱🤣🤣🇬🇧🇬🇧 Get the new signings in pronto next week and shift the dead wood! Including Lundstram and Matondo I’m sorry to say. Also short out a new left back - both Borna and Ridvan are no where near good enough. The support is split 50/50 on both which confirms it! WATP! 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Doug Young

What did we learn- Tav and Borna can't defend, Lundstram is far far far off it, Sakala can't shoot... wait, is that not stuff we already know? It was disjointed, they looked tired but I am not bothered by the result. What bothered me is that Sima hasn't looked great, Cantwell has been a little off-colour and a bit too madcap and we're still not set up properly with width. Plus sides- Lammers looks very tidy, Raskin is dominant, Dowell has real drive and Hagi looks like a new signing. Proof very much in the pudding.
