John Smith

What if Brian Clough came to Rangers in 1972 ?

Gordon Smith

In all seriousness his forte was building disenfranchised players up at provincial clubs. Rangers would probably have been a Leeds situation. I rate him as the greatest manager ever but he specialised skills.

John Smith

With regards to 72 I think you’re absolutely right with regards to it being like Leeds. I do wonder if it was 74 with Cloughy looking to bounce back from Elland Road and ourselves very much in the doldrums if they’re would have been a better click between him and the squad

What if the Inter players in the late sixties hadn’t been on the take ?

Callum

What if Rangers turned their back on a Scottish football in 2012 and started at the bottom of the English pyramid?

Gary Brown

Really enjoyable show, thanks Martyn. Thanks to Pete & Peter. It was really interesting to hear them and a great concept to actually analyse, explore and produce this book.

We're probably in that top tier Championship/lower tier EPL bracket. A lot of the fanbase is utterly deluded when it comes to the English game; I doubt you'd get many Rangers fans who would be happy with Brighton's lot, but it's taken half a billion quid of investment from their owner to get them to the stage where they're a well run club that's qualified for Europe.
