The 1980s. The time when the power in Scottish football shifted back to its rightful place. A time of glory and splendour. Easy then for Martyn, David, Rob and Ross Adair to select four completely different XIs? Not quite. Hear how the boys got on and tomorrow you will get your chance to vote for the strongest lineup and for who gets to take their place in the Champion of Champions all-time draft at Christmas.

Whoever goes first and picks Ally wins. If whoever goes first doesn't pick Ally they should banned permanently.

Tom McDavid

Brilliant show from my decade.

Rob Shorthouse

I'm still terribly upset about my John McLelland arse up.

Douglas Innes

Didn't Sandy Clark partner McCoist in 1984 league cup final not Tom McAdam as he flicked it on from McCloys clearance ..... cant believe no one picked Sandy Jardine who played all across the back line

Martyn Ramsay

I should have at RB but I just couldn’t be sure how good he was in those latter years of his career.

Steve Clark

Maybe missed it but did anybody pick Jimmy nic as right back

Tommy

Enjoyable episode lads thanks. Specially enjoyed David's strategy of just fucking it for everyone else regardless of the win haha well played

Martin Boyd

Meanwhile I’m shouting Sandy Jardine as rightback, he left in 82.

Simon

Ross for me. Highlight is Martyn’s desperation to win and shit on everyone else’s team.

Alan Weir

Great show and eases some of Sunday’s pain. Colin McAdam: equally bad as striker and defender.

Alan Weir

Craig Paterson was not “good” in any shape or form, but said with confidence, David😁

Bluelacoste

Love this concept of a show. Just old enough to be able think of some of the good early decades. Everyone thinks Cooper was the main reason for Motherwells cup win, but the influence that Russell had on that team is underrated. My first favourite player. I would have loved to have seen Russell and Fergie in the middle with Durrant just in front of them as a 10.

Ross Guild

Love this format, so much fun. So much so, I’ve setup a game of this with mates

Ross Adair

Couple of regrets, ultimately though, I fancy my team very strongly today. Experienced with youthful energy in the key midfield positions. Solid spine with a bit of a weak spot up front, but there’s goals in there from all over the park. Corner and set piece threat from Butcher and DJ. Edge of the box digs from young Fergie and Bartram. Andy Gray, still a 1 in 3 striker, linking with The Tin Man and pouncing on second balls. Jimmy Nic, veteran of 2 World Cups letting Gary Stevens maraud up the park whilst he tucks in. Big McAdam knocking on flicks from Gas Meter punts into orbit for wee Durranty's runs into the box. All Together Now ... 🎶

Doug Young

Bobby Russell, absolute Rolls Royce of a player. So many of these picks would stroll into a modern Gers lineup. John McLelland, what a shout.

Andrew Meldrum

Great format. One player missed (who I would have picked over Ian McCall for width) was Willie Johnston. My first game on 81, he was on left wing. Found the highlights online during lockdown, couldn't believe how good he was.

Alan Ferguson

A great listen, first I’ve smiled since Sunday listening to this! Well done fellas 👏
