Dessers vitriol is disgusting. The big guy runs his arse off and has a very good goal contribution rate (should have had an assist and a goal, the latter if Lammers plays a simple square pass instead of beating Hart). The system he's working with & how he is deployed is utterly diabolical mind. David when will you the questions, ask the questions, ask the questions?

John Smith

Is there, if not a specific name, a managerial style you would like to see brought to the club ? Is there a certain country you feel we should be looking at ? Perhaps a name that isn’t necessarily household but on the rise ? Or a more established coach who’s been there done it ? I know who I want but I’d love to know some names all you guys would have on your list.

KAD87

But we can’t collect trophies on ifs and buts. He didn’t score and he didn’t get an assist.

AmoRangers

My point is that he is far from the problem. If anything, he's one of the shining beacons of hope in this turgid, regressive, boring, hapless system that Beale's hubris and arrogance along with his pub league support staff is giving us.

John Johnston

Big sexy Andy McGowan is the man.

Russ

Fuck it, go get Gattuso. Could do with a laugh if we are just perma shite.

Colin Gardner

Get me fit and ill run my arse off like a headless chicken, doesn't make me a quality player. I've tried to be patient with him but he is just aweful. Danilo's movement, pace and touch are miles ahead of Dessers. Even a blind man can see that. Id bet if Danilo got the run of games Dessers has been given he would have more goals and assists.

AmoRangers

Danilo has the touch of Sakala Jr. Dessers graft is yielding results too. He's entirely hindered by this nonsense, lop-sided, ponderous, insipid footballing system.

David P

Have to strongly disagree about him being a shining light tbh and I'm not really sure what questions you want the guys to ask. These press conferences aren't a chance for Rangers fans with a media pass just to air their complaints at the manager. H&H Aren't going to go into one of these and say "Right Michael that was utter shite, pack yer bags and on yer bike"

David P

Buzzing for this, I don't know what it is about times like these but in these moments I need the comfort of knowing I'm not alone feeling how I'm feeling.

David P

I seen the name Rafa Benitez as a suggestion yesterday. I don't for one moment think its a possibility but I think he would be an incredible success and exactly what we need.

Andrew Meldrum

Dessers is getting the stick, imo, because the perception is he is playing instead of Danilo. I don't think that's correct. Our first pre-season games we started with 2 forwards, with Lammers behind them. I believe the plan was to play Dessers and Danilo (not a bad pairing in theory, muscle and pace side by side), with Lammers behind them and Cantwell pushing from midfield. Only the plan has changed, we need more width, etc, and so Dessers gets the stick he doesn't deserve (or at least, he deserves no more stick than any other player yesterday).

Graeme Glennie

There is a financial aspect to this Andy. We are on the way to passing another mountain of cash to our rivals again by letting them stroll into the cl group stages next season. The board have to use logic with there decision and all logic points to Beale being told to go

Simon Botterill

Andy has given me clarity. Beale has stepped up from being a coach of some standard/talent but he clearly neither has the experience or more informatly the support team and is drowning in too much wider responsibility whilst learning. So either back him and guide him. 1. Director of football. He has spent too much energy on that area. 2. New Captain. It has to happen full stop. No reflection on the player or the person. Tav would be a fine Captain in 95% of clubs and leagues but we need different for now. 3. Mentoring. Big shame no WS to just help. 4. More suitable backroom team If we don't want to help him, he goes tomorrow.

Scott Binnie

It's done and he has to go now. It's terrifying that yet again, we all know where this ends but we also know a decision won't be made for weeks and months. First week in September and we know the season is done because the board won't make the decision that needs made.

AmoRangers

£20m swing in their favour that, though admittedly I don't see how any Rangers side since about 2001 gets passed that PSV side (that doesn't excuse the dire performance in Eindhoven ofc). The low net spend this summer tells me we probably can't afford to bin Beale off (which ignores many other factors anyway), no least without hindering the next big opportunity to rectify any mistakes made this summer.

Iain

You know things are bad when Andy can’t offer up a defence of the manager😀

Steffen McAndrew

An excellent pod that captures succinctly what the vast majority of fans are feeling. How did he sell Rangers to Lammers & Danilo..."you're both going to be on the bench every game we play"? Has something happened behind the scenes? It is hard to understand the complete absence of a style of play and not knowing his first XI. Changing the captain has been done before (Ferguson replacing Amo/Weir replacing Ferguson), albeit it usually ends in the deposed captain leaving. Brave decisions to be taken. We all know what needs done; does the board?

Stuart MacKenzie

I’ve heard the podders say a few times now that the post match presser was the worst they’ve seen Beale look. That may be true but Take a look at the pre match presser now and tell me that’s someone exhibiting the “battle fever” set to carry his team to victory. Hint- it ain’t. Regrettably, he’s not a rangers manager and it’s for the best for all concerned that this reality is recognised now by the board.

Stephen

Are we wanting a new manager to work with these players or are people expecting to bring in another 9 or 10 players next season? Can’t keep doing that every year.

William George Bell

There is a losers culture amongst certain players, I’ve said before on this forum that players like Tavernier, Goldson, Barisic and Lundstram will get you the sack. Both Gio and Beale have failed to recognise this. I’m afraid we lack the character to deliver on big occasions. Until there is route and branch change of these players then we will be seeing the same pathetic performances. That is not to say Beale is not to blame also. From the off he’s talked better than he manages. Not a clue on playing style or formation.

Marshall 955

Apathy among the support is a real danger. How many of us look forward to what’s ahead?

Jock Paterson

I think Beale will lose the dressing room soon if he hasn’t already. It’s been noted for long enough he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut and I’ve no doubt he’s the same in the dressing room. Really disappointing.

Ryan Lynch

Ross mentioned (and I agree) that Celtic weren't battering the doors down. But they did miss sitters, missed crosses, Butland made a good save. It could have been 3 or 4. (Im not long into pod, you may mention this later on in it).

Allan

We started with only 2 outfield players (and one of those was a forced change) of the new signings and instead went for guys who have proven time and again they can't get across the finish line.

mark wyper

C'mon guys out with the decision on the roofe goal do yous really feel confident with the football we are playing because I'm not fooled my eyes know what I'm seeing and it isn't good

Graeme Guthrie

Should have called it "Fucking Beal-ing"

CRAIG CASSELLS

I'd go as far to say there is a losers culture from the very top to the very bottom of the club, we are steeped in it and there seems no one able to change direction. The fans are at their wits end with the thought of another aimless season, a season that could see Celtic take our mantle as the most successful club. Not saying it is what's required but that Rangers squad does not have enough Rangers men in it, men who know what's expected from them each time that shirt is pulled on. I can't see Beale turning this around but the thought of yet another new manager through that revolving door fills me with dread because it will in all likelihood we will appoint a cheap yes man with a Rangers connection when what we really need is a clean break from that crap.

mark wyper

Just listened to your summation David , I'm in my 50's and I'd like to think I've seen it all before and your right if we leave it to long the league is gone and that's all that matters .

mark wyper

Much bigger managers than Beale have come under pressure for the sack at rangers what's the difference for Beale .

William George Bell

Hopefully the club will have some form of succession planning in place and have a list of possible replacements lined up. If they haven’t then your feeling that the losers culture starts at the top could well be true.

stephen

Very hard subject matter but a very good pod and a bit of redemption for H&H for yesterdays car pod.

Allan

We must be one of the worst teams for conceding goals on the fewest chances given up (Europe aside). I'm sick of watching games where we dominate possession but lose by a goal or at best draw where the other team has created, but usually has been handed only one or two chances but scores to take points off us.

Chris Macfarlane

Maeda barges Catwell in the box. Arm clearly up. Impedes Cantwell's path to the ball. Is it a penalty? No. Is it the same thing as with Dessers? Yes.

Heart and Hand

Bit disappointed that 13 years of shows were undone by one yesterday but glad we’re on the road to redemption 😀

Ralph Wiggum

Footballing equivalent of being in the departure lounge when you're flight is indefinitely delayed. We had banners in the stands for Wilson/Robertson, I expect it will get to that soon.

mark wyper

Andy when you talk about the fear running through the team that's why we need a new manager.

Allan

When Beale came in last year we saw a new manager bounce. We also saw a manager who reverted to type with tactics the squad knew and understood. It worked. He won a lot of games. This season, he's got his players (but chose not to play them) and has had the time to (as he's said) "implement some new ideas". The evidence suggests it's not working.

John Hood

Disagree there was no connection with Gio. The run to Seville was down to his management and drive and we all bought into it. Unfortunately was not to be. These EL games will live with me forever and in my view brought him total connection during that period. Didn't buy into Beale and never will. He 2nd hand car salesman at best.

Craig Hart

Great point about Amoruso changing the guard with Gough. I'm not sure players like Ryan Jack have ever stepped up to that level. Tav and Goldson for a 25% period of their Rangers careers. You could go through the rest of similar ilk. Point is, not as many as we need to, have. Too early for these new players. This is on the manager. He's no addressed issues that have been there for YEARS. And he's no playing his best impact players in the right system or position. He has to go. Let's get ahead of this while the season is still there.

David MacT

McLeish 7 points behind after a draw at home against Dundee United, lost the first Old Firm at Celtic Park and out the UCL to CSKA is only the season I can think is similar to this.

Simon Botterill

How did we react? Nothing from a single player. In fact we left Cantwell on the ground injured on his own. That's not ability, that is lack of leadership and culture. Sums us up

David MacT

He'd also lost 7 in a row against them. Can't see Beale turning it around as he did but it's the only circumstance I can think of that was kinda similar.

Jamie Kirk

I think we need a manager and backroom staff who know the scottish game. First and foremost we must dominate domestically. The scottish league gets a bad rep and it’s totally unjust. It’s a challenging league full of players with chips on their shoulders trying to either make up for lost ground with their careers or trying to get moves to England for the money. It’s physical and fast and you have to be strong mentally as much as physically to cope with the intensity. We used to sign scottish players who could graft and do the simple things well. 7 out of 10s every game. Examples Cleland McLaren Davie Robertson Weir McCann Thompson (Kevin) Dodds Whittaker Boyd Naismith Then you include a few game changers, your laudrups, gazzas, albertzs etc etc. When did we lose the foundations. We are not feared domestically. We need personal who understand how to be effective in Scotland who won’t show a snobbery to think we are too good for the spfl. Mcinnes Steven Robinson Kevin Thompson Neil McCann Johansson Lee mculloch Billy Dodds Peter Lovenkrands I’m not saying all of the above as managers. But get these guys involved in the backroom. We should have been signing max Johnston, Doig, porteous, hickey, Lewis Ferguson, Lawrence shankland We buy these journeymen from abroad and they just don’t get it. They can’t cope with the uniqueness of our league. Beale included. He doesn’t get it. He’s not a manager. He’s a classroom coach, a pdf power point presentation fa handbook speaker. He’s not a manager The team has no identity No way of playing We look lost We need to stop making the same mistakes and going down the same road of foreign players and managers that don’t get it. Walter smith and McLeish got it. Not the flashiest but built a solid team of hard workers who did the basics right. Nobody since has done this. Advocaat failed. Le guen failed. Warburton failed. Caixinha failed. I thought Gerrard had it but the board didn’t back him. We are going to be over taken by Celtic in terms of league titles. We are shipping more and more towards a hearts/ hibs and Aberdeen.

Graeme McLeod

The point about needing character is true, but successful Rangers teams have a backbone of Scots who know the club and what it means. Advocaat initially kept Ian Ferguson and Jukebox around because of that. (Scott Wilson was kicking about too.) Bazza was the only nailed on starter, sure, but there were players there who could make sure everyone knew what Rangers meant. A few years later that wasn't the case and we witnessed how fractured the dressing room became. As well as our coaching staff not understanding the club or Scottish football, they're bringing in some rather ordinary players from the second tier down south. We've seen this not work time and again - including under Gerrard - and I don't think it's a coincidence that there's nobody in that team who appears to be the guy to be the leader on the pitch. As much as some fans turn their nose up at Scottish players, we need a backbone of them in our side.

Graeme McLeod

The key difference is Eck had delivered success in the past. We were coming off a poor season, true, but he'd delivered five out of five trophies in the 18 months prior to that. Beale has nothing on his CV to suggest he deserves time to turn it around or can.

Paul Kerr

I honestly thought there was a plan and expected a defensive change. We had supposedly budgeted for Sands and Tillman to come in. According to the manager we spent around £16m Inc January and brought in around £12m this summer if figures are to be believed. £4m net spend seems low if we had budgeted for those two. Either way, We ended last season wanting our team built around Cantwell. We were sorted in that position. Yet have seen fit to spend almost all of that meager net budget on the same position and either drop him, unfathomable, or shove him wide. It's that same determination to fuck things up you were talking about. It's endemic.

Graham McCallum

We are now going to be playing catch up anyway because we will be playing on Sundays up until Christmas at least. And now we’re already 4 behind before they play each week, it puts much more pressure on us to just keep it to 4

Heart and Hand

There will obviously be individuals who it’s different for but overall, he didn’t. That’s why when he was in trouble there wasn’t a groundswell of opinion to keep him as there was for Gerrard, or even Walter in 94.

Rona Bluebell

With a business mind on, would I sack Beale? No. Probably not. I’d look at the finance and reckon we’d still sell enough europa tickets, might even have a run, might win the league cup, and already have season tickets banked. If I didn’t ‘care’ about silverware as the indicator of success then I wouldn’t sack Beale. Unfortunately I think that’s where we’re at. What will force it is fan protest and that’s what will be interesting.

stephen

Don't you get over sensitive on me David, taking the piss 😂😂😂

Richy Ballantyne

He’s a dead man walking. Once you lose the fans you just don’t get them back.

Ross Mcfarlane

Agree with every word. Beale is a dead man walking.

stephen

All joking aside if Fan Media could just resolve this entire situation and bring back entertaining winning football I'm sure we'd all be very grateful 👍

John Hood

Fair enough. Injuries and lack of investment in the squad by the board did for Gio in the end. Thought the way he was treated by the club towards his stay was pretty poor. Got what 'fans' wanted in the end. Overall this Board does truly make some fucking horrendous decisions though eh?

David MacT

True but he had lost a lot of the support by the end of that second season, lost even more when we went 7 points behind after the Dundee United game as we had already lost to Celtic and were out the UCL Everything changed though after we beat them twice in a week en route to the league cup final. Beale needs a decent few wins in Europe, a league cup win and to beat them in December to get the support back.

Spoon

Gents, excellent listening. I argued against the tide for Gio to stay as I genuinely believed he had been given a terrible hand in terms of injuries, signings and spend. I didn’t want Beale as to my mind it seemed madness to bin an international level player and a relatively experienced coach with trophies who hadn’t been given the right tools and expect a rookie to make it better with the same spanners. I firmly believe the initial ‘Beale Bounce’ was more down to injuries easing and some of the squad coming out the huff or putting in some effort again more than any great coaching ability but that’s by the by. I didn’t like the sleekit way he was up, probably tapping up the senior players group, and being obvious that he was hoping for regime change and his appointment. I didn’t like the way he did that to Gio then, I don’t like it any better now. The idea he is a good guy just doesn’t jibe for me. Add in Beales return to immediately picking his old academy chums and his disregard of guys who were actually performing and the alarm bells began to ring louder. The idea that a half decent coach couldn’t find a way to incorporate Colak into the team to me speaks volumes about Beales adaptability and coaching chops. How can the excuse be he inherited a poor squad stand up when it was the squad he left, Gio got very little in terms of signings and we all know we hardly turned over players. Beale also told us that he thought the squad wasn’t as bad as folk were saying and he would get it ticking again. He picked Kamara and Kent despite both phoning it in for months last season, that’s not good management. I tend to think the signings, although perhaps forward heavy, are actually decent. I do think that we could get more from this group especially if as Ross says we are willing to be ruthless and drop the sentiment. Most of the guys who came in are a decent profile and im sure in the right shape and set up could do a decent job. Tav, Borna, Goldson, Jack etc have all been good, even great servants over the years. The problem is that it has indeed been over years, and years during which we seem to have been unwilling to consider upgrading them. Goldson is seen as an un-droppable colossus and while I wouldn’t ever say he was rubbish he isn’t (for me) as good a player as some would have you believe, he is just the best, and most available, of the recent CB’s we have had. He has as David and Martyn might say a habit of producing a nonsense at some point in the game, which he usually looks around and blames others for, yes he and Tav are vocal but it's usually bawling at someone else for a man they lost or didn’t pick up. I accept he is possibly our best defender, but isn’t part of the problem that we should have upgraded him as part of that continuous striving for better ? Goldson was the guy who took us to the next level when we bought him, as was Tav and Borna but we should have moved past that point long ago and have identified the next iteration of our defence using the existing as a baseline and the new signing being an improvement. They have just hung around for years with very few alternative options even explored. I used to work for a gaffer who let me start late on a backshift to get to the games. Believe it or not I always tend to look for positives in a game, a guy who showed something, a flash of what might be, effort from a guy who was struggling, a youth player looking like he might have a chance. I was pretty positive and could always find something good even in a defeat. On this occasion the game was turgid and despite huffing and puffing I think we had drawn or maybe it was a loss, he asked me about the game and I gave him my list of positives one of which was that Broadfoot had played quite well and had put in loads of effort in my opinion, which while I knew he was limited was a positive to me. My gaffer immediately shot me down, he said ‘If you got a chance to play for us would you put in the effort?’. I of course answered ‘absolutely, 100%’ to which he said ‘yeah, but you would still be shite, it's not about effort it's about having some quality.’ We have too many players like that, they try (sometimes) you get flashes from them but ultimately they just don’t have the quality. Those who do come in with a bit of dynamism we quickly coach it out of them, it's not just Cantwell regressing, Raskin can't pass a ball 10 yards to one of his own players now. I don’t want to hear about players or indeed the manger being good guys or putting in the effort anymore, nice guys don’t win trophies as often as those with laser focus and who are ruthless. I don’t care if Beale wanted this job and it was his dream, it would be anyone in this forums dream job I’m sure. I don’t care if a guy has been a great servant in the past but is waning, cut him loose and get someone who’s better. Beale it would now seem wasn’t the tactical mastermind it seemed or at the very least his skill might have been communicating what Gerrard wanted to the players in a language they understood. Btw the complaints about H&H or any fan media not asking the hard questions is redundant. Beales answers are always about what he wants to talk about not what he’s asked and even then it's always a long rambling reply that suggests your eyes and the league table aren’t telling the truth, he’s the cockney Caixinha. Lets hope Ross is right in his assessment and the board act, maybe this new exec might just have the teeth the last lot lacked. If not we have some hard months ahead.

Graham McCallum

We’ve still got the same old leadership team in the dressing room as we remember from 4 years ago. Beale hasn’t brought in any new leaders bar maybe Butland. We need new big leaders in there without that same old bunch that just say we will get better and learn because the ones we’ve got are not cutting the mustard

Doug Young

I blame Pep. Got everyone thinking you need seventeen apps, an interactive whiteboard and a throw-in coach. When what this team needs is heart and fire. Agree with poster above. Root and branch restart. Tav and Goldson are the leaders? Their leadership seems to be to blame the nearest team-mate for every fuckup. And looks like we're draining Cantwell and Raskin's fire too now. Sigh.

Chris Macfarlane

Exactly. I know its lazy to expect your captain to scream and shout. But I've never really seen Tav man-manage a teammate. I don't like GK's as captains... but Butland is the obvious candidate for me.

Douglas Innes

think something that may save Beale in the short term is that we have Motherwell Aberdeen Hibs and Hearts at home before playing any of them away from home and its all before the end of October , where as celtic have Livingston Motherwell Hearts and Hibs all away from home ......... its a run of fixtures that should favour us

Colin

Well said boys 😜😜

Ross

I’m sorry but Dessers is getting stick because he’s been absolutely brutal. And I’m trying very hard every game to look for any green shoots in his general play and it’s just not there so far….’that pass’ doesn’t balance out the catalogue of mediocrity he’s offered us.

Simon H&H

We’ve likely handed Celtic their boost. They’ll win majority of games from here on

Douglas Innes

possibly that could happen as well , more so if we cant get a style to stick and players performing

Jude W

I agree that that a Scottish core as well as a British core can be good for dressing room cohesion but the transfers which have made us worse are the following: Danilo from Feyenoord, Dessers from Cremonese, Cifuentes from the MLS. Dessers and Cifuentes look absolutely awful footballers based on what I've seen so far, and I haven't seen enough of Danilo or Lammers. The point though is that the transfers from the championship haven't really been the problem.

Simon Botterill

Cantwell or Butland. Tav is great player, who is starting to age, who has delivered with goals and assists but the environment we are in needs a controlled show. Hart controlling that disallowed goal was an utter embarrassment.

Gary Christie

Excellent pod guys, didn’t help to alleviate my anger but helps to rationalise it. I’m not fully on the Beale out bus, yet, but he’s making it more difficult to retain any form of faith in. The biggest source of frustration is that every time there is an opportunity to transfer pressure across the city, we fail. The defence that we’re only 4 games in doesn’t wash as the stars couldn’t have been more aligned for us on Sunday and had we won it could have turbo charged our season whilst simultaneously derailing theirs. You can’t escape the conclusion that the players did not get the enormity of the missed opportunity given their bewilderment at the crowd reaction at the end. Rodgers in one of his interviews praised his team for doing the ugly stuff well, which struck me that we as a team or a club are hopeless at the dark arts, whether it’s not stopping a breakaway with a foul, pressurising a referee etc. Hopefully the club can have some cajones and be vocal about that refereeing decision which might at least serve to help create a siege mentality and understanding among the players of what they face in Scotland. Last point is around our preparation for the season, surely when trying to bed in an entirely new strike force we shouldn’t have played pre season games against the level of opposition we did, where our strikers would hardly see the ball, cant help but think there should have been more games against diddies to allow the strikers to touch the ball, understand the system (whatever that is) and get a few goals and rhythm going.

Graeme Robb

I agree David about us not playing the victims card. It is losers who look for incidents that might have changed the course of events. I think we see the victim mentality in this generation of Celtic fans because when they were growing up they were routinely pumped by us and had to find incidents. We mustn’t do that. Win the game despite the referee.

Graham Jones

I just think some of the talk is off the mark after four league games. I think we all suspected it was way too early for this group to reach the Champions League, and we were all totally mortified by the scoreline on Wednesday, so only a win yesterday was going to help sooth that, but some of the vitriol going around is not right. I get that it’s the day after, but we need to ask serious questions about how we would’ve been acting had our goal stood, because I think we would’ve won the game. There was absolutely no foul on our part, so this was tangible evidence that referees are being affected when it comes to judging against that lot. That goal stands, we are having a different conversation today. Sure, we don’t do that is always brought up, well, maybe we do a bit of it when it merits it, because otherwise this will only get worse and we will see good men getting a sacked because a referee is afraid of getting attacked by the green brigade. This is down to the club, but also us as fans to raise the volume about it as well.

Greg

We do ourselves absolutely no favour with the "aye but we were shite, it doesn't matter what the ref did"

Alastair McGeoch

The fear starts with Beale insisting on respecting every opposition team we play be it Morton or PSV and setting up to counter their strengths rather than setting up to play to ours. Dropping Cantwell against Kilmarnock showed it, crazy decision but he set us up to combat a physical challenge by dropping out best player rather then build around our best player and rise above the physical challenge. Although that argument falls apart with his tactics against Celtic where he let McGregor run the show for 45 mins…ack he’s just shite!

Stephen Miller

Beale is a solid coach but just not a Rangers manager. I sit behind the dugout in the East Enclosure and his body language on the touch line is one of a defeated man. I’ll always support the team on the park but like muscle memory or putting on an old suit I know exactly how this one ends. Nothing would make me happier for MB to go on a run of games domestically and in Europe lifting a LC in December but when it really matters he simply isn’t ruthless or clinical in his decisions. Having a look at available managers my outside shot would be Oliver Glasner who managed Frankfurt.

Scott Barnett

Honestly just burst out laughing there that when you think about how this was meant to be biggest rebuild and we signed Leon balogun 😂 we are fucked

Shaun McNaughton

Something I’ve not seen mentioned is Beales man management. What goes on behind closed doors, he’s failed to convince Morelos Kent and Kamara to want to play for him and this season I think it’s well documented that Hagi didn’t want to be here under him. How many more of our players really want to play for the club under Beale?

Douglas Innes

The pre season games especially at Ibrox just didn't make sense no opposition for a game that we would dominate possession for 70% like every game in Scotland bar celtc

Bruce Burns

Another huge issue for us is our failure to replace Ross Wilson. Beale has clearly had too much freedom with the signings (overloading recruitment in forward areas and neglecting the defence) And in the last few to years we've been repeatedly told how the DoF is always succession planning for every position including the manager, so what's happening with all that now.

CRAIG CASSELLS

Someone please remind Beale that 5 of our summer signings were Bosmans or a loan. Fees were only paid for Danilo, Dessers, Lammers and Cifuentes. Also only a few weeks Beale was praising the full backing he has received from the Board in this summer rebuild.

Tamus

I thought his handling of Alex Lowry was abysmal. Giving the lad 2 mins at the end of a pre Season friendly, whist giving Scott Wright who he was trying to sell 30mins - just weird

Scott Christian

Beale was a lazy option to bring in. He had a good start at QPR but his side fell right off the edge of a cliff well before he left to come to us. I’ve listened to plenty of interviews throughout his time with us starting as coach and he clearly knows and understands football. Being able to lead, motivate, give clear instructions, change in-game for a positive outcome, etc are different skill sets however and it’s clear to me and most other people that he struggles to get his message across. Rather than over-thinking it’s more likely he’s over-complicating things for players. The set up on Sunday was clearly to let them have the ball and only press when they got over the halfway line. After the “goal” surely anyone worth their salt would have seen that weakness in their defence confirmed and pushed the press line even to just past the centre circle in their half? It’s all too respectful, too fearful and too negative and sends a clear message to the defence that they aren’t trusted (though to be fair they’ve not exactly given much evidence that they can be). Beale has come in and been given way too much power. I can understand the board being enthral to his vision, I really can, but that’s where Andy’s point about cool decision making comes in. It seems we have once again left ourselves in a position of having to scrap everything and start again without that stability running through any leadership changes that have to be made. And as for the League Cup as a booster, yes course that’s a fantastic opportunity, but when Lennon said post match that we are heavy favourites I just rolled my eyes. 1 cup since 2011 tells its own story there.

Spoon

I think it’s more telling he wanted to keep two duds while emptying Colak.

While Goldson and Tav remain, nothing will change. Been saying it since Gio. I believed Beale when he said he knew what had to be done, I was wrong.

Blair McGunnigle

Found the summation that Beale is done hard to take, but on reflection history tends to show us. There is a chance, but a serious run of wins, no Europa hidings and league cup win are all essential ahead of going to the piggery. Tav, Goldson and Barisic in the back 4 gives me the fear. Time and time again we have come up short with that foundation. I think there can still be a place in the team for Tav, but not necessarily at RB. We need a solid foundation. Not bringing in another Centre half will be our downfall I believe.

David are the rumours regards Muscat true? I hope so. He's had his chance. Nice guy, loves the club but he is simply not a manager. Knew Celtic were going to keep it simple. MB way over complicates. He’s a lovely man but he has to go.

David Mackie

Got to be honest MB has run his very short race. Change required now, sadly the board did not just make the mistake of giving him the job in the first place, they compounded that by giving him almost totally control of our summer spending where he has signed players who look worse than the ones they repaced, whilst at the same time neglecting the glaringly deficiency that was our defence !! Who we get next I honestly don't know, BUT this can't go on a change has to be made now and as soon as possible that defence needs to be changed also . Yes that includes the seemingly. untouchable systematic loosers that are Tav and Goldston.

Agree with you guys. Wasn’t convinced he was the right guy last season but he got the job so had to get behind him and support him but as time goes by I find it harder to do that. Dont see any direction in what he is trying to do and can’t see how he turns it around from here. I’m afraid there is only one outcome here as far as I’m concerned now

Bob MacCallum

If he's one of our " shining beacons" we'll be in total darkness for the length of his contract. Guys like him and Danilo will get Beale sacked.

Jonny Burnside

Never, ever heard Andy sound as depressed and despondent.

Craig Lamont

I think the bond with Gerrard and the fans actually came from the disdain he treated that Mhob, which has never been replicated by Gio or Beale. We've never looked up for these games as much since Gerrard left.

Paul Holst

Spot on as usual. Need that sun out in Saltcoats….
