Early the day boys. Kinda ruined my 6pm plans to listen now 😂😂

Phileas Fogg 55

Haul Big Andy oot to cheer up the bears 🐻. 😂👍.

Paul Holst

7-10 days McGowan! That’s yer lot!

KMS

I took my little girl away to the Harry Potter studio tour over the weekend for her birthday, I was gutted to be missing a game and successfully seat-subbed my ticket. I would like to take this opportunity to categorically apologise to the supporter who bought my ticket and paid good money to suffer that shite in my absence.

Euan Dover

I admit I booed at the end. It was a boo-worthy performance. It’s just a way to communicate the fans sentiment which is important - if we didn’t, would the club become more complacent and under less pressure to meet demands? I think so.

Heart and Hand

Zero issue with it. Performance was so far below acceptable. Fans were frustrated and demonstrated that. Perfectly fair IMO.

AmoRangers

Ignoring everything else (for my own sanity) suppose Scouse John continued to work his arse off yesterday and its noteworthy! He might be shite more than he's right but at least he's not chucked it yet. When he does, we'll know that Beale is cooked. Beale is definitely at the flinging suite at the wall stage; in equal parts due to injuries and piss poor recruitment. Looks like he doesn't trust the players.

Graham Ross

Every Bear I know and every media platform I've visited is about 99% want Beale out. Are the board aware of this?

Craig

Every time I try to talk myself into believing we can turn this around I realise that I was saying the exact same things to myself a year ago. This season is looking like a near carbon copy of last

Louch

Problem Beale has is he can win every game we gave, but if Celtic don’t drop any points it won’t feel like Progress as gap will remain. I can’t see both happening to lighten the load and we can only control one of them and I can’t see it lasting no matter our results

Andrew Hillis

Excellent pod lads! I like Andy’s idea of Lammers up top to bring midfielders in. In the very short term and To provide more in midfield could we try Ridvan on the left ahead of Borna and Tav ahead of Sterling. Bailey Rice has to be better than the lad from Equador who really looks a dud I’m afraid to say. We cannot continue to allow Goldson to have so many touches - side to side ponderous garbage as we saw all too often yesterday. If you play Wright play him wide right. Fingers crossed for some changes on Wed

Martin Boyd

Love your confidence that if we had scored a 2nd earlier game was done I expect all that would have happened was Motherwell would have gone for it earlier and we would have shat the bed , it would have been just as nervous, unfortunately.

Stuart McWilliams

I'm in the minority but I think Wright could be useful domestically. He's never going to tear teams apart but if we use him in the way Gio did then it can allow Tav to play further forward and give us some width.

Andy McGowan

When you say "domestically", do you mean like cleaning up the dressing room, collecting balls etc?

Kev Roberts

Some absolute sense as usual We all want Beale to be successful I also would send him a bottle of bubbly if he proves me wrong. Keep up the good work H&H WATP No surrender 🇬🇧🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧

Buff Richardson

Gave my grandson (age5) my ticket on Saturday his dad said he was singing and cheering from start to finish , that’s the kind of performance that could have scarred him for life lol 🔴⚪️💙

james whyte

Mwell came to Ibrox and were better coached and more comfortable on the ball than us. Its a mess regardless of who plays. Simply, nowhere near good enough.

Alan Bradley

Are Podders allowed to post abuse at other Podders? Big Andy - always annoys me, so bloody smooth and everyone loves him.

Andy McGowan

My spies tell me you stayed for 90 on Sunday, but the only reason was so you could boo and throw a tin foil pie holder you'd kept especially. Rest assured Rangers security have been informed.

Ross

I’m also open to trying Lammers as the 9. He won’t be our main goal threat but like Liverpool when they had Firmino in that role with Salah and Mane getting the goals you could have Danilo and Roofe buzzing about off him hopefully hitting 20+. Lammers does work hard off the ball to be fair to him and he looks like he’s got the ability to take it into feet and hold it up. Still…overall I’m still sadly doubtful he’ll prove to be a good signing….but anything to not have to watch Dessers again.

Ross

Re Tav I think he tends to play better when there’s someone ahead of him that has a natural tendency to move inside off the ball to give him space to drive into…Roofe and Aribo for example under Gerrard. Whereas Borna on the other side is quite happy I think to have a winger ahead of him to feed without getting as high up as Tav regularly does and still deliver effective crosses from deeper areas.

Steven Tait

We badly need a midfield general ,an experienced player who can control the pace of a game and someone experienced who can break up play and play the simple ball and keep possession . We have lost Kamara, Davis, Arfield in one swoop and Jack is done - that's around 250 international caps and replaced it with younger inexperienced players like Cantwell, Raskin,Dowell and Cifuentes.

Roy McKendrick

It's just absolutely depressing. Everyone knows it's just a matter of time. Be there on wednesday more through duty than anything else.

Gregg

Our centre halves having too many touches isn’t a new thing - for at least a season the movement ahead of them has been poor. We are so static.

Billy Forrester

If u believed the shite Beale has fed us Cifuentes is the next De Bruyne. He has fed us all a big plateful of dogshite and we have eaten large spoonfuls, a con man is what Mick Beale is

Alan Bradley

Fake news. Sausage rolls come with a wee cardboard box in East Enclosure, clearly you have lost touch with working class Gers fans. Your old man and myself as old posties are ashamed.

Graeme Heaney

I just can’t justify the spend we’ve had and we have become worse, let’s face it that’s what’s happened.

Stephen Miller

For me it’s the lack of leadership from the dugout and touch line that triggered my volley of abuse towards the management yesterday. There is nothing there in the form of instructions, inspiration or motivation and I sit a few rows behind the dugout in the East Enclosure. I’m always a positive and supportive force even in a toxic environment but the on pitch performance and lack of accountability from the sidelines really got me. I’m not proud as I know my voice can travel but with Beale as head of the shed everything filters down from him, the sooner he is gone the better for everyone.

Spoon

Andy correct to highlight the lack of goals as a major issue, however we have known for several seasons that we didn’t have the structure and / or personnel to create and take enough chances. The issue for me is Beale not only knew the brief (could be argued he actually set the tone first spell) but he has had the investment in the frontline but still can’t get the output required. If it’s the players then they are his, if it’s the coaching then it’s his coaches, if it’s tactics then these are his tactics. My issue remains that he was a lazy signing and the wrong guy. The criticism of the end of the SG regime, the Gio reign now the Beale era remains the same, pedestrian football, lack of cutting edge and over complication of systems. You don’t need to be on the tactics pod to see it, anyone one who has seen even a decade of football knows when a teams clicking or not. No fan wants to be negative about their team, even the glass half empty guys secretly want to be proved wrong as ultimately it’s a win for everyone if the trophies roll in but there is a problem at the core of this team. I don’t know if it’s a few individuals, the way the group are allowed to input into how they train, set up or play but it’s been there under different managers and the fragility remains the same. Anyone trying to work out how this team will perform, react or cope in any given game is speculating wildly or going on blind faith (+ or -) as there is no rhyme or reason to the performance levels. David is correct though, for what seems to be a significant percentage of the fan base Beale is on borrowed time, no amount of rallying cries can cover up what you can see watching the games. The players look bereft of ideas and increasingly so does the manager, both of which are equally worrying. It would be very much in our locker to lose to Livvi in the cup but win all our euro ties as we are a football basket case. New ideas and attitudes needed asap or this malaise won’t be shaken off.

Spoon

Oh for the days we bought a guy who was decent and coached him into something better. I can’t get my head around the amount of guys we have brought to the club and either not improved or worse regressed. Wright is an honest Scottish Player who should have been brought on by playing with better players in a better set up, instead like far too many in recent years we brought him here, knocked the good parts out of his game and destroyed his confidence, we aren’t a club who develops anymore sadly.

Callum Dinnen

Going to go against the grain with Cifuentes, I think he's starting to come good. Any good move we put together he's involved at the heart of.

Ross

I thought he played two great passes on Sunday, one in each half to release Dessers…so green shoots, a bit like Danilo he’s offered scraps to cling onto…but overall I’ve been very disappointed with him. I’m also not a fan of Raskin so there’s every possibility I’m just a grumpy bastard.

Gordon Price

Assault on the eyes 🤣🤣

Tamus

I cant listen to a guy like Andy who doesn't even go to the games 😁😉

Tom

I like Andy #GBNewsLoyal🇬🇧

James Anderson

Its players that get managers the sack. Some of these players could be seeing at least two managers given their P45, could the common denominator lie with them?

Heart and Hand

Well, put it this way, if I was a new manager starting in there I’d be looking at that and thinking ‘hmm’.

Colin Ferguson

I think the problem may lie with Beale's coaching staff. I don't think they are good enough for a club like Rangers. The players maybe don't respect them enough, hence this passing or lack of it a should say, that we are witnessing.. On Tav, could we maybe push Tav up on that right flank and have Sterling play at right back. We did see a wee bit of it at the end of the game in midweek and it might give us a bit more defensive stability and still have our playmaker on the field to create chances and goals that we so desperately need..

Rose Mcloughlin

Get well soon Andy...we know you are stronger than David.....think the players heading down to the prw is a good idea but maybe not right now...at one point on Sunday everybody around me was heading for toilet breaks..pies..drinks..and a wee blether..anything to break the monoity. ..but Hated the booing at the end...I've done that to refs before but never players who I think are as down as us....Roll on wednesday..the most crazy thing about this is teams are coming to Ibrox thinking we can take this lot which then makes them play better and makes it harder for our boys to break them down and get a win..they are making their lives harder for themselves...I remember when Ibrox was a fortress and teams dreaded coming there...one day we hope that will comeback.

LAURENCE MACRAE

Thanks for the show Gents , my main concern , amongst many, is that despite having 7 defenders / defensive midfielders on the pitch Motherwell still created several chances they should have scored , we were incapable of holding onto the ball , which I think comes to the point Andy was making about adversity, I don’t think the players react well to it, we’ve had several seasons from a lot of them showing this and the new players (Butland apart) seem to be needing a lot longer to settle in , than what really is required for players worth millions playing in Scotland.

Ross T

Great pod. The midfield concerns me most these days. The regression in it, compared to recent seasons, is scary. Not convinced we have someone that can even fill Davis/Kamara roles properly. Raskin has had an easy ride. I would like Bailey Rice to start Wednesday. Confident quick passer, through lines, into the likes of Lammers earlier would be a help. I think Rice on teamsheet would actually give the crowd a lift.

Marcus Black

Agree, midfield is big concern & has been for years. With Arfield, Davis, Jack & Kamara all more or less gone on the last season there is not much left.

Stuart McWilliams

Sunday reminded me of a game against St Mirren at the end of the PLG era. Then Le Guen spent the entire second half screaming at the midfield, and particularly Barry, to push up but the players ignored him and Barry spent the 2nd half playing long balls to Boyd and we'd lose the second ball when it dropped into the area our midfield were supposed to be. On Sunday I think the 3 at the back was supposed to lead to Tav and Barasic pushing into midfield and the central midfielders pushing up but that didn't happen. The question is whether the players didn't understand that's what they were supposed to do or just didn't listen (neither is good for Beale).

Allan Osborne

Isn't it sad that we now go into a game expecting it to be rank rotten? But that's where we are under this manager. Every game feels like a chore, something to endure to the bitter end. So much for that handbrake coming off. We shouldn't be feeling like this before the end of September!

David MacT

I'm with Alex Staff on this, our home fans booing our own players is not on. It was a really poor performance after a good showing on Thursday but that still shouldnt mean our players are booed off the park after a win. In fairness this is maybe the norm for the Ibrox home support nowadays. Even Dessers was booed in his first home game this season. Really, really poor stuff from our 'support'.

Ross Thomson

I agree. Has done well in flashes. I said that on the bus on the way home and one of the guys thought I was watching a different game.

James Cameron

This is just not on the manager, coaching staff and players This is also on the board. The changes at boardroom level were just moving the deckchairs on the Titanic We are now just best of the rest in an one team league and that sickens Far too many at the club are accepting this from boardroom to the pitch. I for one will never accept second best I don't see anything changing under the current board. I have absolutely zero faith in the current board in changing things around. When Beale will get sacked we have seen this boards record on recruitment and it is absolutely pathetic. Where these signings in the summer properly scouted or just going on what they have done in the past. That is just not acceptable. For the board to sanction these signings they are just as much at fault as the manager. The board can forget us accepting another season like last year and just limping on for an EL place

Callum Dinnen

It's also interesting seeing how the narrative has shifted on injuries within 12 months. This time last season Gio was getting blamed for the squad's injury woes. That narrative has been strangely absent this year.

Gary Shaw

We had a full squad more or less from pre season through to the PSV and Celtic game and it was still garbage…yes, the injuries have ramped up the last couple of games but not been able to lay a glove on a depleted Celtic at home when we were basically at full strength has done him in..

Spoon

Callum, for me the last guy was done a group of petulant players who under delivered but didn’t want to take ownership of their performances or attitude. The new guy came in talking about them as if they were better than they were showing, played the mates card with them and let them all off the hook. I get btw he couldn’t slate them out of hand but he actively made out they were all capable of better. This season he has had all the coaching time he needs, the signings he wanted and until very recently as Gary says he has had a full squad and it’s still been gash. The core of this group seems to be rotten and pretty unprofessional, the coaching staff are not up to it but the managers big issue is he’s just a football nerd not a leader, he could put out a cracking tactics pod but he clearly can’t inspire professional players. The worst is lots of people could see these issues, nobody would have thought it would be this bad to be fair but a lot of the early hype just wasn’t backed up by results or performance.

KMS

Lammers is like that guy you had in your team at 5's who was on another level, you'd wonder why he never made it as a professional footballer, then you'd see him at 11 a-side and they'd be rank rotten.

Simon Botterill

Coaching staff = crossed arms. Horrendous. Beale is out of his depth but not as much as his coaching staff

Lewis Wardrope

David, you’ve literally said bear enough word for word something I tweeted the other day. I’ve been patient with this team, and I really want to back it and get behind it. But my patience is now very very thin with it

Alastair McGeoch

Another great pod, spoke with measured balance. Unfortunately it’s essentially the same pod since we last won the league. The players need to be braver, they need to use the pressure of playing for rangers, they need to give the fans hope. Fact is we have a core group of players who are happy being second best, just happy saying they are a Rangers player and will most likely look back fondly on their 1 title and 1 Scottish cup instead of regret at the other trophies the should have won. Our successful teams had a core group of mentally strong winners who set the tone and levels any new additions to the squad needed to hit. That is clearly lacking. I don’t think Beale is the answer but if he is to be given time by the board he has to be brave and clear out the Tavs, Goldsons, Barisics etc if he is going to change the mindset. Do I think Beale is brave enough to do that? Nope. The next manager must be or they will fail too.

Paul Dunnachie

The point about the manager saying that he can’t understand how that players go from Thursday night’s confidence to Sunday’s nervousness.. There’s an argument why it is his job to instill the confidence. There’s a counter argument that the players are grown ups who have been playing this sport seriously since they were teenagers and should be more than capable of maintaining a positive attitude from match to match. Over the summer there were a few introduction videos of the new players talking about the fantastic crowd backing the team and all lovely stuff. I do wonder whether there is anyone in the environment who puts it to those players that a Rangers team that toils at home will face a very different reception to the After Leipzig footage? Dealing with the pressure is an enormous part of a successful Rangers career.
