This is the first in a three part mini-series looking at the managers experiences in Monaco, the next two will focus more on his tactical approach and what we can expect to see at Rangers..

Ex-Goal and current Transfersdotcom journalist, Robin Bairner joins Adam to give a quick insight into Philippe Clement's time at Monaco.

We chat about the situation Clement inherited at from fan favourite Niko Kovac and how things went during his time in the south of France.

Robin gives his view on Clement's tactical flexibility, his personality and how he thinks he might adapt to life in Glasgow.

After listening to the flagship this made me laugh

Alan Reid

Jeezo, this appointment is giving me the fear, not doing well in big games strikes a chord. Hopefully our league is more akin to the Belgian setup than in France

Ross

Good pod. A couple of things which worried me although I’m still buzzing to get back to Ibrox on Saturday to support the new manager.

Simon

Thanks Adam, the weans crying now.

Scott McIntosh

Wish I hadn't listened to that 👀😁

Andrew Whiteside

So how many are on the Muscat train after that? No comparison between us and Monaco. Expectation not as high and don’t have the same atmosphere at home. The Brugge comparison is more valid for me. I’m favoured Muscat but I did like what I learned about Clement.

Ross M

What just happened. No wonder they were calling him a clown in France 🤡😮😐

Stuart Campbell

Reason why I was concerned about his appointment. That plus you could say a foreign coach has never succeeded at Rangers. Advocaat given spend and tail off also falls into that camp. On the plus side (maybe) Monaco lost 5 of last 8 games that season. Even 2 more wins would've seen them in 4th so although they shat bed - they had been on course for CL places until April.

Stuart Campbell

At the minute we need to press and attack with more pace and energy. That's a motivational and man management challenge - not a technical one.

Mike Sim

Getting flashbacks (not good ones) to the interview with the Feyenoord fan prior to us appointing Gio.

George Joyce

Also wish I hadn't listened to that although the Belgian podcast boy on Clyde said his his interviews were pretty dull. Worse than gio was the impression I got

Allan Osborne

Well this has put my gas at a peep! I wish I hadn't listened now 🥴

Graeme Homer

Disappointing he didn’t mention the fact that Mitchell and Stewart had or were leaving and the board had made a mess at the club.
