I've said it to so many, if you can't appreciate his value when he's at his best, just look at him at his worst. The first half of this season he and the team weren't playing well at all. None the less, despite not being at his best, he was the one who got the goal to get us past Servette. He brought it back to 2-1 vs PSV (however briefly). After that painful game, when we needed a win at St Mirren to lift the spirits, he got the goal to start us up and a third to put the game to bed. One nil to Hearts in the 90th minute, and he's pivotal to making it 2-1 by the 98th. All that, plus the cup game yesterday... and that's him seemingly at his worst? That's what the big players do. That's what captains do. When times are tough, when it's not going their way... they still find the moments, they still make an impact. However they can. Problem is, no one player can do it alone. Too many seasons Tav's been pretty much the only one doing it. Certainly consistently at any rate. If Clement can get others firing and taking on the big moments, that'll be when we'll really start to find success.

I doubt if everyone is fit he even gets on the bench. He's only ever going to be an impact sub IMO, and there isn't anything wrong with that.

I love everything about Jack Butland. Class player for sure and he feels right for us. The expression is "fits like a glove" and even though it's a horrible pun, in this case it's bang on. He and Danilo both give me a boost in confidence, you can see they have a lot of ability, Sima being another who's shown up consistently for a while now. Hopefully our fitness woes are behind us, there's a league winning team somewhere among our squad. With the age old caveat of keeping them fit long enough to find it

I’ll let you in on an alcoholic secret - you never need time off. You get so used to being ill all the time you don’t even notice when you genuinely are sick. I remember the first cold I got after I got sober - I thought I was dying 😂

The main difference is that this guy is tried and tested in football, and has a strong track record from his previous jobs. Most importantly for me is that part of that record is improving players who have lost confidence and have been written off. Also, he has a habit of turning out players who go on to bring in revenue, so I’m fascinated to see how he might work with someone like Alex Lowry in the future. I don’t want to judge him too soon, because we’ve seen too many false dawns in recent times, but he does run a very different ship from the previous managers. From me it’s the experience and a much vaster skill set that he has over Beale. Gio had a decent record in Holland, but it wasn’t seen as all that successful by people around Feyenoord. My feeling is that we’re better to stand off and let this guy work through the issues that haven’t;t totally went away and to allow him to keep improving the team and have an overview after the next Old Firm game. However, we all know there will be shows all over the place dissecting things during the international break.

Hope your back is a bit better now...yes the feeling around Ibrox is carrying in to the fans..enjoying my games more not so nervous..love the 2nd halves so I think we have more patience with the players so getting to a good place at last...thanks David for doing the pod in your pain killer mist .a sore back is a nightmare so well done.
