Great show as always mate (in site of Genesis). 2/3 …. Good but thought you were a bit mean with clues for year 1. Will let you off as funnily enough in a good mood after the weekend……

LD

Looking for a Christmas song, "Santa's a Scotsman"

Mark Brown

Really enjoyed this one Alan 👍

10-2 would be nice going forward. The 3-2 games build your character as a fan. The Dec 1978 semi will live with me forever. Thanks for yarning about this one as I was there. My first old firm game 7yrs old. Superb podcast Alan.

Steve Clark

Anybody who didn’t change the words of day dream believer on hearing it this morning is telling fibs😂😂

Alan Bradley

Thanks Stevan, yeah pity there were no highlights from the semi-final, one of the most enjoyable Old Firm victories.

That league cup semi was wild Awful weather I think which always make it sweeter when you win and are under the roof Aye going for 15 league cup finals in a row Ok they won them all in the 60’s but anyone could be them in the final in the 70’s I seem to recall a diving header by Casey As you say Alan ran out of steam in 78/79, 17 games , two to extra time, two old firm games between 7th April and 31st May Exhausting and financial hardship ! So close to that quadruple but it took everything out of that great 70’s team

Allan Waltham

Nobody should ever apologise for Supper's Ready.

Johnnie Mitchell

Great listen as always Alan and another schoolday re the first 2 matches. Cheers

Craig McCrimmon

Starting the show with Arcade Fire Alan, well played sir 👍🏻

Alan Bradley

Meant to play them weeks ago mate, remember you introducing me to them. Smashing band.

Derek Murray

Smashed it this week Alan with great music choices - even the Genesis song had a festive celebratory feeling to it 😜 Alternative Xmas choice got to be SLF and white Christmas 🎄 I fkd the 1st year and even the Monkees didn’t help me … must have been the unusual version you played ?? In 78 I remember speaking to Alex Miller after the red .. he felt it was a tad rash as it’s a man’s game🤬

Dougie McAllister

Great show as always Alan. the 10-0 game could cause you a few problems if you were to pick that year....😁

John Walker

Great show again love a bit of arcade fire. I'm sure i remember beating Raith 8-0 or 8-1 in the league cup early 80's. Yes nothing better. Than a comeback 3-2 victory over them. As we ventured into 1979 how's about smashing pumpkins (1979) next week.

Steffen McAndrew

Excellent show. Random question...the song on the opening credits: is it Led Zeppelin?

Andy Sladen

Great pod again Alan 2 out of 3 for me. Thanks for playing the dickies. Your pod as well so play whatever music you like as well! Alternative Christmas songs SLF mentioned earlier The Dickies - White Christmas The Damned - There ain’t no sanity clause Ramones - Merry Christmas (I don’t want to fight tonight)

Alan Bradley

Nice one Andy, I’ll mention on next week’s show, plan for the one after, rather than drop show on Xmas day, will then go Boxing Day instead. I’ll try and sprinkle some alternative/rock songs outside of typical well known Xmas hits.
