The logic behind the schedule is that most seasons we are the most likely to be playing in Europe during the week so would be at a disadvantage.

Gary Shaw

I don’t think professional athletes should be knackered playing 3x a week tbh…down in the championship it’s 3 game weeks most of the season and our own rivals have won multiple treble’s with the League Cup being played in December…Thu/Sun/Wed shouldn’t be an issue for top level players who have no excuses to not be fit.

Its easy to see why Aberdeen are doing so poorly in the SPL. Their team is set up only to play against ball-dominant/fannying about in midfield teams like Gio’s and Beales’ Rangers. No other team in the SPL plays that way and Aberdeen dont change … so they play a lot of dull, low-scoring games.

Jeb

Need to be firing on this one. Can make a real statement with a few goals and a strong performance.

Martin Boyd

I watched Mitov for two seasons at Cambridge his distribution is awful that’s why he kicks long. Good shot stopper though.

Iain Campbell

Shankland can have a big say in forcing Hearts hand in January

Russ

Mate, respectfully, that attitude needs kicked out of the game. The games eating itself up with the current schedule and modern football is more athletic than ever - if you think players should be pumping out 30 miles a week every week in December including away ties in Europe with no rest then jeez-o. I'm sorry if I sound harsh but this isn't Football Manager - when our players hamstrings snap they stay snapped.

Gary Shaw

Nah,I’m not having that…guys that are super fit should be able to play 3 games a week…as I said there’s 46 games in the English Championship and players down there aren’t doing their hamstrings every week…if tennis player can play 3/4/5 sets every couple of days in an isolated sport then footballers can make themselves fit to play 3 games a week were you have 10 other guys to help you.

David Innes

For Shankland I’d offer £2m rising to £3m if we win the league plus Wright and Lowry on permanent deals (buy back clause on Lowry)

Making Strides

Tennis is a bad example to use. The distances they cover, the intensity, the physicality, none of it comes close to the demands on footballers.

Bradley johnson

I’d take a 1-0 now. This is a natural flat spot game

John Smith

For what he’d give us and for what Hearts would be losing, I think £5 million is a fair price for Shanks. And I think by the time he’s in full flow it’ll look like a bargain

Gary Shaw

I would argue it’s more intense…in football there are lots of lulls were you can get a breather…yes you’re always moving but not as demanding as a tennis player,no way…..ask most professional footballers who look after themselves properly,if playing 3 games a week is very manageable and I guarantee you the answer would be yes….

Gary Shaw

If Eddie Izzard can run 40 consecutive marathons in his 50s then you’re not telling me 11 fit athletes can’t play 3 games of football over 7 days 🤣🤣

Gary Shaw

Wouldn’t go near Shankland tbh

Gary Shaw

He’s nearly as out of shape as Morelos and it would get flagged up straight away in a Rangers jersey.

Greg

Fully agree with Alex on shankland

Scott Cameron

Winning the game all that matters after a very tough few days, expect to see some fresh faces in starting 11

Douglas Innes

Was said after Aris or Aberdeen " as long as we're within 5pts after December 30th we would still be in it ....

Douglas Innes

Given our summer signings and our usual inability to move on players who clearly aren't contributing I'm going to go against what I said to mates 2-3 weeks ago before Danilo's Injury , id go after Alfie on a pay as you play deal with an incentive based 6 month contract ..... less of a risk than Shankland in my opinion ...... I await the flak

Granters

I think Ridvan will 100% move on in the coming window. Whether on loan or full transfer, i think he’ll go.

Douglas Innes

2-3 weeks ago I'm fully " no way " but given our circumstances which would really need to get money in before buying we may have limited options
