What dish was being made during this? Mute the mic geezo.

Phil Morrison

Was someone sawing a table in half ?

John Smith

Just in case people don’t know, I pure love Lawrence Shankland by the way

Billy McCormack

Hey David you told us that when you 3 get together we go on a winning streak, what happened on Saturday then? Right that's it I'm gonna write to the SFA cause I'm disgusted you got these decisions wrong 🤪

Phileas Fogg 55

Why not break open the glass box and bring big McGowan out after a defeat ?😜

Stuart McWilliams

I always think Goldson struggles when he has to be our best pure defender. When he has a Helander, Bassey or Balogun beside him, who is happy doing the basics, he performs much better. Souttar is too similar to Goldson, and I still think we bought him because we thought Goldson was leaving. In the summer we need to decide which of them is going to play RCB and bring in a pure defender rather than someone who can break the lines (I don't think we can afford someone who can do both)

Greig Massie

Had to turn it off. Sorry guys. The moving/inadvertent nudging of the mic left it difficult to listen to

8luenose1872

Experienced podders making that much noise on a mic? Cmon guys that's a rookie mistake 😂🤣😂🤣

Scott Henry

Agree that we brought Souttar in with the intention of him replacing Goldson, which would also make the Davies signing make sense (it seemed strange at the time). Goldson should have been allowed to leave in 2022, and we should be encouraging him to leave this summer, he is on the decline and Souttar is the better player.

Heart and Hand

Unfortunately this didn’t show up during the recording (ie we couldn’t hear it). Apologies.

Scotty Dog

Software randomly picking an on board mic for no reason, happens all the fucking time in my line of work, so much so I didnt even notice it after 30 secs 🤣

Gregg

Souttar isn’t good enough to be first choice for us - decent no 3 or 4 choice. Too error/ injury prone.

Jim McCutcheon

Is one of you guys building flat pack furniture 🤔 🤣

Tamus

Souttar has too many mistakes in him and Goldson is an easy beat when targeted

That UFO Podcast

It’s really frustrating, regardless of it picking up whoever was doing it shouldn’t have been fannying about with their mic mid-recording without going on mute

That UFO Podcast

Also had to turn this off. That’s horrendous noise. Such an easy fix aswell, happy to have the three files sent to me and I’ll fix for free and you can re-upload.

Paul Kerr

How's that spice rack you guys are building coming along?😂

William Alston

Guys, I often find myself asking this question for numerous issues time by time. Where is the Rangers chairman? All great points raised by Steve about the referee performances recently. This dignified silence doesn't work. He's got a lot of great qualities that merits his position but I'm sorry his silence since getting the role is a massive concern

Greg

Benfica are in a really really bad place, smashed to bits by porto and a derby defeat to sporting in the cup, fans are baying for blood. That being said the timing for us couldn't be worse, they couldn't handle pace out wide and looked vulnerable every time a ball came in the box, sadly we have no wingers left to make things interesting. I have no idea how we are going to line up.

Alastair McGeoch

It was a disappointing result and one factor was that our performances since turn of the year were good enough that the appalling standard of referring wasn’t a factor in our results. Saturday our performance levels dropped to the level where appalling officiating was able to have a direct influence in the game. I actually thought Hearts would beat them on Sunday and glad it can to fruition. I have no doubt, Rogers and Celtic thought they “were back” after scudding Dundee and were preparing to stick the boot in on us “being on top a week”, “told ya we’d right our own story” which I think has contributed to Rogers talking absolute pish after the game. Fact is, they bottled it on Sunday. Let them do their usual “Scotland is a hateful anti catholic country” routine because their January signing missed a dubious penalty. We just need to regroup, refocus and keep applying pressure. Old firm at Ibrox in April is the key for me. Win that and it will pile the pressure right on that mob and I am not sure they have the bottle for it.

Allan Osborne

The worrying thing for me is that's two games in a row we've been off it. We got away with it at Kilmarnock but it caught up with us on Saturday. You can't rely on Dessers when the chips are down (not that I blame him for the defeat), Silva isn't going to score many goals from the evidence I've seen, Goldson and Souttar looked so poor all game and now the injuries are piling up again. The perfect storm right enough. At least they slipped up too so we move on. But more displays like the last two and I fear the consequences. The sound on this one was terrible btw guys, but a good listen all the same.

Tommy

Raskin was the imbalance for me on top of Motherwell tactics and set up. We had our chances to win so we have to accept it like most of our fans do. Ref decisions aside, we just didn't do enough to win

Gary Brown

Thanks for the pod lads, really enjoyed the discussion. Good, considered assessment of the game. Got to credit M'well for coming right at us. Easy to say 'can't use that as an excuse'. They aren't. No one making any 'excuses'. Brenda's reaction, THAT is making excuses. Stevie is spot on re the first goal. Numerous points of failure. But on Souttar; team sleeping, he saw the danger, reacted quickest, still too late - close, no cigar! Shouldn't have needed to but did. Stays put, lad makes his run unopposed anyway, ball still coming in! Reckon every coach would want someone, anyone pressing the ball. Tav, saint & sinner. Far, far, too often play breaks down as he's making repeated unforced errors in simple 5-10yd passes. Just sayin! (never ever been in FFS Tav! Club) Getting ahead of himself in his own head. Run before walk, etc I'd disagree that we didn't push on after the equaliser. Too focused on pushing on. Thinking about the knockout, got sucker punched! SJB is human after all. If we hadn't conceded, pretty sure we would've won. Disappointed not disheartened or angry at the result. Always have to look at why it happened. Not an excuse! But a huge factor in the overall state of play, tempo & flow, (non) bookings & (non) fouls, the ref was abso-fkin-lutely abysmal in that game. I always factor in 'they're shite', they all are! But that looked like 12th man stuff. I'm not a moon howler, don't spend all game yelling at refs. But when 'poor' performance is SO bad it looks like corruption that is a serious problem for our game. If a player made that many mistakes I doubt they'd make many appearances at any club. Second time (at least) this season our player had shirt literally ripped off their back with no foul nevermind booking! Totally agree about outsourcing refs from another country, or at least VAR duties. Benfica are a wounded animal right now, therefore dangerous!

Martin Boyd

Didn’t bother me in the slightest , not something worth getting annoyed about. More concerned by Rangers inability to take the chances that come their way.

Graeme Smith

Can’t remember the last time Butland came for a cross/corner. Seems to have gone from taking almost everything to not coming for anything. Anyone else think that or is it just me?!?

Mark Sheen

I’m the type of person who gets annoyed at loud eaters so I really had to persevere with this pod with that “background noise” going on 😂😂😂

David

David, stop moving shit about during the podcast! So distracting

chris smith

1/ are Scottish referees terrible? Yes

chris smith

2/ are Rangers refereed to a different standard and are referees loathed to give any decision for Rangers? Yes.

chris smith

The two things are not incompatable

Russ

Benfica had more talent when we last played them tbf. Problem is so did we ha

Douglas Innes

Given its being highlighted the amount of chances that Silva and Dessers need to get to convert a chance, given corners and freekicks are so vitally important in both boxes the club really need to be addressing this more so the chances that Connor Goldson misses his ratio in regards chances to goals must be huge , being a central defender is no excuse it has always been an important part of the game. excellent point by CJ in regards refs and possibly it would take bot Rangers and them both going to the SFA and demand UEFA appointed officials for games after the split

Peter Anthony McKenzie

Love having Steve and CJ Novo on. Great listen. Only negative... is someone scratching their table constantly throughout?

Heart and Hand

It’s because, for reasons unknown, my laptop switched to its own mic rather than the external one. It happens about 1 in 500 shows. Sorry!

Revan1872

The last 2 games Lundstram has went back to the 2023 version of himself. Hopefully he just needs a break and after that he will pick back up but I am worried he's just dropping back to normal levels after a hot streak

Martin Sutherland

3-5-2 Thursday for me. Bring Jack in for Raskin. Silva and Dessers up top

John Palmer

Whoever kept playing with their Mic, really affected this Pod, made it hard to concentrate on what was getting said.

Iain McHolm

Have we had a downturn in form because we haven't had a new 3 amigos pod?
