And as we've done for JK, RM, Jimin, Jin & V (and plan to do for each member...Suga will be the only one left), we'd like to react to one of Hobi's songs for his BDAY!

I Vite Outro: Ego but I also highly recommend you check out CNS live performance from their 5th Munster (2021)!! All of BTS performs it with J-Hope & Jimin and RM took over Becky G’s part in Spanish, and they both did great! But RM did amazing especially with his pronunciation 🤯

Outro: Ego has a very complex storyline cuz it's part of their album Map of The Soul the series, and it's based on a psychological theme and books by Carl Jung. I don't think you're ready for it yet. Better save it for later when you actually get to MOTS in your journey. I suggest to keep track of reacting to their albums/title tracks in order from one era to another so you'll understand every concept better. While Dyadream is J-hope's own solo work that doesn't spoil anything from BTS's storyline. It's a good fun song with profound lyrics (as usual) and stunning MV as well. CNS is really good too. But it's a collab. For his Bday I think it's better to focus on his own song. So I suggest Daydream.

I'd suggest MAMA, or other song from his mixtape "Hope world". Songs like "Hangsang", "Piece of peace", "Airplane" or "Blue side" - just shows how much jhope has variety. Tbh, I don't recommend people listening to daydream and I think they will not like it based on their taste 😅😅

I'm surprised ego is winning out so far because I think you guys have already seen and listened to that one. I agree with a lot of people in this comment section That Airplane from his first album should have been added to the list. His entire first album was amazing to say the least. And my favorite! I listened to that and only that for an entire month from the first day of its release. I voted for CNS because it's amazing. Especially the thought and the history behind the song and why he chose to do it. The song actually almost never made its appearance due to delays originally. But he kept moving forward and never let it go. He finally released it and it was a hit. I also agree with some of the comments that say doing ego now would not be the best thing. You should wait until you get to their map of the soul album, because they do all connect. 🙌🏽💜

Personally, i think Ego should be reacted together with Persona & Shadow because they all fit a theme and are cohesive together. Daydream is my favorite out of the 3 but CNS is so good too, and there's a version of ot7 out there too its fantastic.

Also true! I do think there is a lot to unpack about Ego still, even if they've already listened to it, because it's the closing chapter of the whole Map of the Soul narrative. But it's exactly because it's the final chapter of a journey that I think they're gonna have a really hard time understanding what it all means without reading up on Jungian theory and listening to Persona and Shadow. Adding Blue Side, MAMA, and Airplane would be cool but as things stand I'm going with CNS 🐔

Yess. I personally am not a big fan of Daydream (only Jhope's song I might skip, sorry), but that's just me. I believe his b sides are so freaking cool that one shouldn't skip those! So Yeah , I hope they reconsider. Also would love them to react to Hope on the street videos, they haven't check out his dancing too.

You listened to Serendipity, Singularity, Epiphany and Euphoria for JK, Jimin, V, Jin so you should listen to Trivia:Just Dance for Hobi (They're from the same album so it's better to cover all the bases fairly) You should've listened to Trivia:Love as well by RM from the same album. I'm scared some members solos are getting left out or forgotten this way😓 You've already seen Stigma and Lie by V and Jimin from Wings album, but not JK's Begin or Jin's Awake. So it's unbalanced and we don't know when to slot them in

Ooh I love Daydream (I rly enjoy house music), but to each their own! And I also agree on reacting to a Hope on the street compilation, I don't think J&J have seen just how phenomenal hobi is when it comes to dancing, and specifically freestyle dancing. Which is crazy since it's dance leader j-hope we're talking about, but since they joined ARMY around JITB promotions, where he didn't really dance much, it's to be expected! 💜

Y’all seemed to LOVE Ego at Lolla, more so than CNS, so I say you gotta go there! I get what everyone is saying about needing it with Persona and Shadow, and that’s true, but it holds its own, too, and can stand alone. You can revisit once you get to the MOTS era (however I hate to think how long it will be before you get there!)

I see that Outro: Ego is winning and while I LOVE the song, I think it’s far more impactful when you first listen to it alongside Intro: Persona and Interlude: Shadow. They all stand independently, but the opportunity to really dig into how the three work together and contrast one another to analyze Jung’s theory of human consciousness is such an insane treat for a new ARMY to experience that I’d hate to have you guys miss out on it.

I would suggest those too if I could, those are some bangers in his mixtape. But since the option available here is the main track Daydream, that's why I choose it. It would be endlessly overwhelming for them if we always keep mentioning and suggesting every random songs that's not even in the option cuz it's just too much, and everything from BTS is good so they'll be confused who to listen to and what to watch, so I think it's important for us to just choose based on the options available. They can't get to everything from J-hope on his bday anyway. I wouldn't want to overwhelm them.

Thank you for the options. The list is a bit limited (which is ok ) but I highly recommend putting a pause on ego. As much as I love this song of course, it is an outro to an album you have not started yet (Map of the Soul 7, and the song is strategically paired with the intro of that album (persona) and the interlude. There is heavy analysis here about the human mind and whatnot that you should experience as a package. That being said, Chicken Noodle Soup is so fun and won't interrupt the order of the broader albums. If you need other jhope recommendations, airplane is a good option too!

I love these songs!! I just wish Just Dance was a choice cuz that one has a special place in my heart. I'm a huge fan of the Boy Meets Evil. The MV is amazing - short, but amazing - and you can slow it down and the dancing becomes even more amazing :-). Plus there's the beautiful live performance with J-Hope and Jimin as an extra bonus! Of course, Airplane and Airplane 2, and Daydream (which I voted for) is an amazing MV as well. Honestly, can't go wrong with any J-Hope.

I'd like to recommend this introduction video about jhope from the channel Bangtan Bootcamp - it's super comprehensive and probably one of the best ones (it was published Feb 6th 2022, so it's just over a year old). The channel has other great intro videos for RM, Jin and yoongi too. All amazing options! I voted for Chicken Noodle Soup. Daydream should be listened with the rest of hobi's mixtape - Hope World. There are actually a lot of parallels between Hope World & JITB. But Hope World masks those darker themes by making the songs upbeat (which hobi did talk about on his vlive after he released the mixtape). And then Outro: Ego (which I know J&J loved the breakdown in) ties in with the whole Map of the Soul album storyline, and is part of the rapline triology 'Intro: Persona' (RM), 'Interlude: Shadow'' (Suga), 'Outro: Ego' (hobi). It's a whole journey of their own to study. My hopeful/wishful thinking is for hobi's 'MAMA.' It was his solo song on the Wings album. You'll get to learn a little about hobi's past and see his other side as vocalist in BTS. The live performance from The Wings Tour: The Final (which were the final 3 dates of the Wings Tour and held in Seoul) is phenomenal!!! And his family (mom dad, and older sister) were in attendance. There are a few more compilations about Jhope leadership in Bangtan which i think makes me appreciate him so much more, do take a look if you have time too. You mentioned during the behind episode of Butter Performance for Grammy, that RM seems more vocal and trying to lead more during practice, thats is because Jhope is not there, normally its Jhope leading all performance practice.
