Emme you’ve really become a Jedi Master, when it comes to sensing the beats of a Doctor Who plot: I love how you had the Meep figured out right away haha. You should either be the next Doctor, or their companion: I reckon you’d get to the bottom of all these wibbly wobbly timey wimey issues in about 5 minutes…though that may make the episodes a little on the short side, so you probably would have to slightly rein in your detective skills haha. But anyway, I’m so glad that we’re finally here! I’ve been looking forward to this episode, since you watched the Doctor’s big surprise regeneration about 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t wait to see your joy, at Donna Noble being back, and you did not disappoint haha. I was a bit worried, that I may have inadvertently given away Donna’s return, in one of my comments on a previous video: it was where I had been talking about Dan being played by comedian, Bradley Walsh, and how comedians are often great at more serious roles, & used Catherine Tate as an example. I only realised what I had done, when I read a reply to my comment, and started to panic a bit: I hate people who give away spoilers, and ruin fun surprises & didn’t want to be one of those idiots haha. Then after a few minutes of mentally beating myself up about it, I realised I was being silly: that just mentioning Catherine Tate & Bradley Walsh, in relation to comedians being good at playing serious roles, couldn’t possibly have given anything away...at least I hoped it didn’t haha. I also then remembered that you film these in advance: so there’d be a good chance, that you’d already seen this Special, & Donna’s magnificent return, so either way, I had nothing to actually worry about haha. But enough of that: back to this Doctor Who Special. I thought you’d really enjoy this episode, & not just because of David & Catherine’s return: it’s just a whole lot of fun, with positive themes and a good message at the heart of the story. I loved it. I remember the BBC actually received some complaints, from a bunch of absolute fucking morons- excuse my fruity language: these idiots claimed it was “inappropriate”, to include a transgender character in Doctor Who…which is bullshit. Though, I doubt the vast majority of those knuckle dragging morons, are even fans of Doctor Who, or actually watched the episode: they’ll have just heard about it being a thing, from whichever horseshit-peddling “news” sources they get all their opinions from, and decided to stick their bigoted noses in where they didn’t belong. And if they were fans of DW, but thought this was the show being “too woke”, then they haven’t been paying attention to the show: the original series may have things about it, that haven’t aged all that well, but it was still a very progressive show, & we’ve seen that continued for last 20 years in the “New Who” era. And it was made all the more perfect, with David Tennant being back as the Doctor, due to his personal views on the subject: it was a nice “F-You” to all the bigoted transphobes haha. Also, when people claim something is “too woke”: unless they’re using the term in a knowingly unserious/sarcastic manner, as a way to ridicule people who use it pejoratively; you know you’re talking to a grade A cretin haha. But enough of me getting on my soapbox haha. This Special was the perfect follow up, to the previous one: with the insane volume of returning Doctors and Companions, ‘The Power of the Doctor could be described as pretty much pure, concentrated Doctor Who fan service; and ‘The Star Beast’ is kind of the cherry on top, with the return of one of the most popular, beloved companions of the modern era of Doctor Who. I also love that the Meep was voiced by the wonderful national treasure, Miriam Margolyes: in case you have trouble putting the name to a face, she played Professor Sprout, in the Harry Potter films; but these days, she’s probably best, known for her incredibly funny appearances on chat shows, like ‘The Graham Norton Show’. She did a great job, of switching between sweet & scary: though the Meep’s charade didn’t fool the wise Jedi Master, Emme Holmes- mixing a bit of Star Wars & Sherlock together haha. I can’t wait for you to release the other Specials: they’re a lot of fun, too, and serve as a good bridge, between the previous Specials, and the following full series. Fantastic video always, Emme: I hope things are good with you. xx

Good catch on the music. Murry Gold, who scored series 1-10, came back for the Disney series. His motifs definitely have a different vibe from Segun Akinola's.
