Also a wee note: when editing i remembered i did see animated Saw in clone wars! But he looks nothing like how he looks here. What do yall think of that?? I thought it was a bit odd.

My favourite aspect of the show is how we finally get to see the transformation from Republic to Empire. This is a time period that's never really been explored on screen with many changes happening off screen from the creation of Stormtroopers to Tie Fighters and many of the Imperial ships and vehicles. So many questions from what happened to the Clones to how did the galaxy react to the formation of the Galactic Empire. I remember Battlefront 2 (2005) having a really cool story mode where you followed the journey of the 501st Clone legion throughout the events of Revenge of the Sith and then throughout the Original Trilogy when they transferred from Republic to the Empire becoming the first Stormtroopers just a year after Older 66. Then you play through missions as Clone Stormtroopers under the Empire which was really cool but no longer canon. Battlefront 2005 is kind of the closet we've come to seeing the early Empire at least before Bad Batch came out. Novels like Star Wars: Thrawn which I highly recommend is set at the time of the early Empire. Love seeing Tarkin again which of course makes sense that we'd see him. Hes an important person within the Empire and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in Andor as well maybe Season 2.

Palpatines speech is the same speech from "Revenge of the Sith", and I believe they used the original monologue from the film.

i thought Saw looked like a good middleground between CW and later appearances. he's still clearly young, less jaded and worn out, less radical. it's 15 years before andor and 19 years before rogue1

You're right we met caleb in the tales of the jedi mini series in the episode practice makes perfect in the very beginning when ahsoka was training against the droids, and anakin said he wants to give her a real test. he was the boy going "oh wooow so cool" or something like that haha

and this is really young saw gerrara, rogue one was of course old Saw (and then dead saw XD)

Sinister Maul

So the Saw that you see is the younger version obviously. He's been seen before in earlier episodes of The Clone Wars. He's in a 4-part story arc, Season 5, episodes 2 through 5. You don't have to react to them if you don't want to. Just watch them on your own. You'll definitely get some back story on Saw for sure. Young Caleb is voice by Freddie Prinze Jr., who you will find out who he is in Star Wars Rebels as well by a different name.

Saw in Bad Batch is 19 years younger than he was in Rogue One.

Caleb is actually like 14 or 15 here, I believe. They just made him look like a 10 year old. And that's about the age the squeaking stops and the man voice comes through 😂
