Helloooooo my friends! I'm posting this from LAX, about to board a flight to Boston. The wonderful Steven Ray Morris just landed last night from London and he was editing on a plane crossing an ocean so this is a very airborne* episode of Ologies. Fitting, given that we talk about inhaling, snorting, and snoring with Dr. John Craig of the Henry Ford Medical Center in Detroit.

You'll learn so much about the inner workings of your face -- and also: find out which word I had to bleep. Hint: it's not the f-word.

Enjoy and thank you so much for making the show possible. And of course, if you have suggestions for future episodes, leave 'em in the comments.

Hearts and sneezes,

Rhinology (NOSES) with John Craig

Allergies. Nose jobs. Smell nostalgia. Street drugs. Septum piercings. Snoring. Hang on to your faces because Dr. John Craig goes deep and shares why he's so passionate about rhinology. You'll have a whole new relationship with your whiffer, appreciating what happens behind your nas-holes and coming away with some strategies to combat hay fever, Afrin addiction plus: a very legal substitute for illegal party drugs.

Just when you started talking about spinal fluid leaking out the nose parts, I fainted on my crowded bus. Good times - cheers! x

So I just listened to this episode in 2022 and am very late to the party, but wanted to share because it’s funny. When I was five years old I stuck a plastic bracelet bead up my nose to see if I could “breathe through it” cuz there was a hole in it. It got stuck. My mom took me to the hospital and they literally used an unbent paper clip to go up my nose and fish it out. The story of the paper clips in this episode brought back so many memories I had forgotten about!
