Dear Patrons,
It's been a busy summer so far, with three new videos released since our last update. But production work continues at pace! Here's a quick update on what we're working on, plus a Cool History Thing from the battlefields of Belgium...
Production Updates
The Spread of Islam
Our video covering the history of Islam - a companion piece to the 'Spread of Christianity' we brought you earlier this year - is receiving final touches and will be out on Patreon next week!
This will be a birds-eye view of the evolution of Islam and its journey across the globe via conquest, conversion and migration. As an under-explored part of global history, we hope you'll learn as much watching it as we have making it. Some sneak peaks...
The Rise of China Part 4
Animation work is underway on the fourth instalment of our Rise of China series. With Mao Zedong now holding a position of absolute power, this episode delves into life within the new 'People's Republic', as well as China's assertive foreign policy in the tense early years of the Cold War.
ULTRA Part 2
After getting to grips with the complexities of the Enigma machine in Part 1, as well as the ingenuity of those who cracked it, Part 2 will explore the urgent efforts at Bletchley Park to scale up their codebreaking operation. With German U-boats hitting British supply lines in the Atlantic, breaking Germany's Naval Enigma becomes a crucial race against time.
World War 2
Slowly but steadily, work continues on our epic history of World War Two. The first three episodes focus on the global crisis of the 1930s, the policy of appeasement, and the steady build up to war in Europe, Africa and Asia. In all honesty, we probably announced this series about 6 months too early! With so many other projects on the go, it's been a struggle to make time for this big beast. But we are getting there...
Work also continues on The American Revolution Part 4, and Battle of Verdun 3D, which will both be released later this year.
One Cool History Thing
PMF Productions are touring Europe! This week, in much finer weather than Napoleon got, they've visited the battlefield of Waterloo in Belgium. As one of the more tourist-friendly battlefields, there are plenty of attractions at this one, including a dedicated museum and the 110 metre-long panoramic painting of the battle by Louis Dumoulin. Of course, none of these could distract Patrick and his brother, Chris, from watching the Bunker Hill premiere atop the Lion's Mound! Look out for news about our Waterloo remake, coming soon...
That's all for this update, but we'll be back next week with The Spread of Islam premiere!
Thank you as always for your amazing support of the channel.
