As many of you spotted - Epic History TV just passed a million subscribers on YouTube. It's a big milestone, and gives me the suspicion that I may now technically be a 'YouTuber'?!

There's a lot of people I owe this good fortune to, including Charles Nove, who had no idea what he was getting involved with back in 2015!

Also very high on the list is every single Patreon supporter - the financial support is crucial, but so too is the enthusiasm with which you support the channel and welcome each new video. It means a great deal to me, and it's always a pleasure to interact with you here on Patreon.

So, massive thanks again for all your support, and here's to the next million!

Cheers,

Toby

Love the channel Toby! You deserve every bit of success

amanko13

The only surprise is that it's taken this long. See you at 10 mil!

Congratulations 🎈🎈🎈you deserve £1,000,000 per video though unfortunately I’m not that rich

Congratulations Toby and Charles! You two put a large amount of work into each video, making sure each one is truly enjoyable to watch, and highly informative. You are doing a great service to those who enjoy history, and those who want to learn more about the events you describe. Whereas HistoryMarche, and Kings and Generals are great content creators in their own rights, and same with Armchair Historian, I find that your videos stand out to be more enjoyable than theirs, for two crucial reasons, one, the narrators voice, and two, the way its presented, as an exciting story, which surely keeps most if not all viewers truly interested until the very end, in conjunction with the expert balance of highly interesting and informative information, that can give each viewer a clear picture of what the situation was, as well as many crucial background details, and little details concerning the situation in question. I have re-watached many of your videos many times, because I want more content, but, I must patiently wait for the next video, which makes the reward of seeing a new video that much sweeter. Really, of all the YouTubers I watch, I can only say that about a few, maybe just one other. I'm happy to be a Patreon, and continue to be, as long as the same level of work and quality is continued, which, I believe it will be. :) Wish you and Charles the best Toby, keep up the outstanding work! Anthony

Thank you Anthony! You've clearly given it a lot of thought, very interesting to hear your views.

Jonathan Chitambar

nice!! Congrats Toby - How do you plan on celebrating the million subs?

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you Jonathan! I think I might even take a day off work and head over to the local pub, which has just reopened..

I think the way it’s written is the best as well even things like the word choice and the way it’s written as a narrative. I want to see more impetuous commanders and routing of enemies soon

Rebellican

You honestly deserve way more than just a million.

CONGRATS Toby!!! Delighted to see this! Echoing some of the others here, it's thoroughly deserved & I think many of us here would love to contribute more than we currently do if we could afford it. And I found your comment that you may be a Youtuber now very amusing... I think that happened some 900,000 subscribers ago ^_^

And after having heard & enjoying Charles Nove's narration, I honestly find it hard to enjoy others' narration - without meaning to, I end up comparing Nove's narration to these others' narration, so, for me, he's become the benchmark of sorts for these sorts of documentaries/vids! Any of you Patreons here feel that way?

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Ronnie, for your very kind comments. I'm glad you enjoy the narration so much - I think Epic History TV is a little different from most Youtube channels, in that between Charles and myself, we have about 40 years experience in directing and performing voice-overs! A lot of preparation goes into each session, and we're rewriting lines of script right up to last moment.

This is some of the best, most concise information on these topics on YouTube. I absolutely love this channel.

I might be late to the party but congratulations Tony, you must feel proud for making this far in just 6 years of hard work and research for your videos, here's to another million hopefully in the next few years! I cannot wait for the next poll to go up to decide future topics!

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you Lysaniel, much appreciated. Poll news coming soon!

Congratulations Tony. Totally well deserved.
