Thank you all for the many great suggestions! It's always tough to create a shortlist, but here it is:

Option 1: 'The Greatest Speech in History? Part 2'. This will be a dramatisation of a great speech from classical history, in the same style as the Alexander speech at Opis. Could be Caesar, could be Pericles, lots of options! (probably another poll to decide).

Option 2: 'History of Venice Part 2'. The long-awaited sequel, concluding the story of the Serene Republic, including wars against the Ottoman Empire and  eventual extinction at the hands of one General Napoleon Bonaparte..

Option 3: '1848: Year of Revolutions'. An overview of this tumultuous and hugely influential year in European history.

Option 4: 'Battle of Tsushima'. Japan's Trafalgar, a surprise, decisive naval victory that marked the emergence of a new Pacific power.

There were lots of other good suggestions, particular mention to the Siege of Malta, Shackleton's expedition, Isandlwana and the career of Suvorov. All might appear in future polls. The poll for the next short series will be posted tomorrow.

Poll closes in 1 week!

Lord John 🇵🇱💚

The Story of Suvorov would be awesome! & The Battle of Tsushima would also be dope! The fantastic lords & ladies helping to create Nelsons Story could be a valuable asset in the creation of this possible popular future topic 💚

Vikram Chochinov

Year of revolutions by a wide margin. We'd get to see our old pal Metternich again

Lewis C

All such awesome choices. Would probably have to go with greatest speech in history part 2 personally. I think Caesar would be a great choice for that too!! Part 1 was so great. Loved the speaker

EpicHistoryTV

Yes, Paddy did a great job. If anyone saw Queen's Gambit, he played the nasty and bitter step-father!

Moulay Cherkaoui

Everyone vote for the Great Speech! It would be great to see Caesar addressing his mutinous legions after his return from the East.

Rafael Consentino

Such great choices! I wish "all of the above" were an option

Lewis C

Oh wow didn't realise he was an actor! I may just have to watch it now haha

Crispin Julius

The staying power of Venice has always been fascinating. For such a tiny community with no great armies to have endured for a thousand years is really something.

Walter C

Honestly, I wont be disappointed with any of them. I know Epic History is going to do an awesome job no matter the topic 👌

James Elwes

The greatest speech in history, please.

Jonathan Chitambar

I listen to the Alexander speech at least once a week. Hands down one of the best and most motivating videos ever made. Would love to see who tops that!

Line_of_Blood

Personally, I want to see the battle of Tsushima, experiencing the epic battle between ironclads. Would fit nicely with the series of naval videos with HMS Victory and the battle of salamis. Would be awesome if epic history tv would also known more the just the Napoleon series. Ultimate collab : Epichistorytv x drachinfel x historymarche x world of warships collaboration. (Wows mainly if wargaming would allow Toby to use their CGI clips with battleship mikasa fighting the Russian ships). But I’ll be happy with whatever the video will be!

Bluewarrior514

So much for that concert of Europe he was championing over 30 years prior.

David Hennessy

It's got to be Venice solely to get that 100% completion. Can't be leaving a series unfinished!

Andrew Robson

1848 for me, but if we do a speech, why not Mark Anthony at Caesar's funeral.

Ioannis Kouriotis

1848 for me also. I would like to learn more about that period of Europe from the best history channel.

Stuart Carver

Venice it’s been too long…it is time

Jabels

Revolutions! Always a banger.

JDusk

I do really want to have more of the history of Venice but the revolutions in 1848 is just so interesting! There was even a revolutionary movement in Switzerland of all places.

CJ Tabunda III

If "1848 Revolutions" is chosen, it will be another epic episode.

Astra Solace

Looks like Toby thought well of my 1848 suggestion (see his previous post, where I proposed 1848 and outlined the rationale behind my choice) haha. So obviously, I have to vote for my own 1848 suggestion :D (Although I initially proposed 1848 for the short series, and this poll is for a one-off video)

CJ Tabunda III

How would Toby tackle the 1848 series? Only one episode or multiple episodes tackling each involved countries?

László Máté

I would love to see the 1848 one. Especially the hungarian indipendence fight against austria

mees

'History of Venice part 2' Me: there is a part 1?

Blagovest Tsvetkov

Battle of Tsushima would be awesome, but 1848 with all its details and interconnections between countries has a much wider historical significance.

Jason Chalifour

Tushima, but the voyage of the Russian 2nd Pacific Squadron deserves its own video.

Simon

Come on guys, Venice needs the part two more than revolutions. And WW2 is more important to start so the first episode can be out by 1st of September.

Berkan Degismez

History of Venice should not be on the poll, I think. To be continued said, in the end of the first part:)

EpicHistoryTV

And I don't like to leave anything unfinished. I may have to make an executive decision in the near future.
