Heather-San, Dōzo: Jason & Heather… what we witnessed in Episodes 1075–1076 wasn’t just the defeat of Kaido. It wasn’t just the end of Wano. It felt like the ending of an era of storytelling that Oda has been building for over a decade. This moment started all the way back in Punk Hazard, when we first met Momonosuke and Kin’emon. Back then, none of us could truly understand the weight they were carrying. But now, after Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou, Whole Cake Island, and finally Wano… we finally see the full picture. This wasn’t one arc. This was one giant, interconnected tragedy and liberation story spanning literally hundreds upon hundreds of episodes. Half of modern One Piece has been leading to THIS punch. And that final punch wasn’t just Luffy hitting Kaido. It was 20 years of suffering. 20 years of starvation. 20 years of stolen smiles. 20 years of slavery, fear, executions, broken families, and crushed hope. Every lantern rising into the sky carrying the wishes of the people… Every tear Momonosuke held back… Every sacrifice from Oden… Every dream of the samurai… All of it was inside that punch. That’s why it hit so hard emotionally. What makes Wano so incredible is that Oda didn’t just give us a fight. He gave us history. The story of Oden, his logbook, the mystery of Joy Boy, the importance of opening Wano’s borders, and the inherited will stretching back centuries. Oden understood something after reaching Laugh Tale: the world was waiting for someone. Waiting for Joy Boy. And for 20 years, Wano suffered while waiting for that dawn to finally arrive. And then Luffy came. Not as a chosen king. Not as a prophecy machine. But as the same goofy, freedom-loving pirate who simply cannot tolerate people crying from oppression. That’s why this victory feels different from every other victory in One Piece. Kaido wasn’t just another villain. Kaido was the wall standing in front of the dawn itself. And when Luffy sent him crashing into the earth, it genuinely felt like the world of One Piece changed forever. Watching your reactions made the moment even more special because you could FEEL the weight of everything that led here. The music, the flashbacks, the lanterns, Momonosuke finally carrying his father’s will, the citizens unknowingly praying for freedom while the battle for their future was happening above them… Oda somehow tied together over a decade of storytelling into one emotional finale. People always talk about “peak fiction,” but honestly… this is why One Piece deserves that title. Because very few stories can make a single punch carry the emotional weight of 20 years.

These episodes make me SO. EMOTIONAL.

Lulu-chan

I cannot think of Kaido as erotic 🤣🤣🤣

Lulu-chan

Sending lots and lots of love and light to your dad, Jason

LoneCourier21

And with that Kaido is officially down!!! Now we have to celebrate and catch up with the rest of the world. We still have WG and Navy interests close by and a lot to rebuild. Ill save the gear 5 stuff for later on, but welcome to the new level of One Piece ahead of you. After Wano you are officially with us in the Final Saga!!!!

Lulu-chan

The first episode is a perfect example of why OP is a masterpiece even with all the fillers. In the manga, those recap scenes are much shorter, but the way the anime handles them is so on point imo. They remind us all exactly why Orochi is so despicable and get you insanely pumped and hyped for Luffy’s imminent victory. Those moments wouldn’t hit nearly as hard emotionally without the flashbacks building everything back up again.

_Kiing

Kaido really got locked up just to get a bite to eat then dine and dash.

Lulu-chan

Ok, so, now that we watched the appetiser, the real story can start 🤯

Lulu-chan

We are approaching the main story though

I waited for this for so long love y’all. This amazing

Cristian

I LOVE YALL MAN.. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING UR REACTIONS FOR WHAT'S STILL AHEAD OF YALL. I THINK YOU GUYS R GONNA LOVE THE REMAINDER OF WANO & THE NEXT ARC AS WELL ❤️

Cristian

GENUINE QUESTION GUYS, AFTER SEEING THIS EPISODE DO YOU GUYS THINK LUFFY IS FAR AHEAD OF KAIDO IN TERMS OF POWER? AFTER THIS ARC U GUYS WILL PROBABLY COME ACROSS PEOPLE CALLING KAIDO A BUM OR SAYING THAT LUFFY CAN NOW LOW-DIFF OR MID-DIFF HIM, WHICH BASICALLY MEANS HE'S NO LONGER A THREAT TO LUFFY AT ALL. IDK, I FEEL LIKE PEOPLE REALLY UNDERVALUE KAIDOS STRENGTH THESE DAYS. SOME PEOPLE R SO DELUSIONAL THAT THEY SAY SANJI AND ZORO TOGETHER WOULD OBLITERATE KAIDO TO PIECES, WHICH IS FUNNY BCZ AFTER G5 LUFFY DEFEATED KAIDO NOW HE'S JUST SEEN AS A MEME OR A "BUM", AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I'VE SEEN FROM MANY ONE PIECE FANS ONLINE.

Cristian

I agree, but sometimes Toei really pisses me off when they show us the same flashback 1000 times LOL 😂

Dylan Drozeski

Our little boy is all grown up. I have so much to say regarding these two episodes. First, and I think I've said this before, fuck Orochi. He deserved worse. Second, what can you say about this fight? It had everything you can ask for. That ending felt more satisfying than anything I've ever watched. And that end shot of the lanterns floating around Luffy is my favorite shot in all of One Piece. I said last drop it seemed like they were praying to Luffy. And here he is fulfilling so many of those prayers that were sent up. Welcome to the big leagues guys, now we can start getting to the heart of this story

Dave

The Power of Love but I made it about One Piece The power of dreams is a curious thing Makes a rubber pirate wanna be the king More than treasure, more than gold It’s the friends we meet and the stories told Don’t need riches, don’t need fame Just a Sunny ship and a wanted name Stronger than a Buster Call from above That’s the power of One Piece love

PegasusDragon

YT Short. Okay Jason 55:29 but you may want to do some edits to keep Luffy's words, the punch but also to get Luffy with the Lanterns at the end of the episode and have the short end there! With him in the sky and the Lanterns floating around him! I know it may be a hard ask to do. and to have the short go for 1min! Not sure if we can have Kaido's words in it as well?

PegasusDragon

PEAK! This THIS IS WHY I LOVE WANO! the fulfilment that this arc give me at then end right here! The pay off, the crescendo! Just *chefs kiss* to Oda and his writing and work! And to think not us but other OP fans die hard fans hated this arc when it aired, during and after! Now OP fans say they like this arc, but the amount of hate I saw was crazy. ( Not saying all OP fans just some that I saw in the community not Devan Clan or other reactors) Jason and Heather who better to Kill Orochi for good then Danjuro, who went through so much pain and anguish grieving for his friend, mentor and Lord, and his Lord's family! To have so much pain and anger that it changed his hair and face, to then plot the most ultimate revenge of taking Orochi and Kaido down from within to spend 20yrs by his enemies side plotting, to then have Hiyori stumble into his life again and then protect her, train her, but also have her wanting to be involved and plotting as well! Just the poetic justice to a man not just through his own family, resentment, and the old crone hag and the old guy who where his family that plotted this, Oden and his retainers were kind to him from the start! As I said so many episodes ago now that he can't take responsibility for any of his actions but the ego he has! without Kaido their coo probably wouldn't have amounted to much at all! Why do you think the old crone went to a famous Pirate to help them!

PegasusDragon

Oh yes agree! That flashback also had scenes we never saw and conversations that happened between the old crone hag and Kaido, but also seeing Kaido next to Orochi as that town was given smiles and you can see for a few seconds on Kaido's face that he didn't like or was disgusted by Orochi's actions towards the town! I could be wrong though.

PegasusDragon

These episodes will always make me cry as the emotions from the people of Wano, the Nine the crew and the friends we made! Just think of that kind of liberation for Wano! <3 <3

PegasusDragon

Also what did you think of Kaido's backstory that shaped him into who he turned into being as a Villain?

PegasusDragon

Now we can fully understand Kin'emon's rage, his absolute rage when kicking that green dragon's body in the facility on Punk Hazard, you can go back and watch that scene or watch that episode. It will 1000% hit different to when you first watched it as it all makes sense.

Jake Belcastro

There will be some phenomenal episodes ahead, but mark your calendars for episode 1136... Never in my life have I cried reading, until I read that chapter!

theshittycook

Your comment is poetic while still accurately capturing the emotional weight built up through over 20 years of storytelling. It’s incredibly well written.

theshittycook

I’m currently in Asia for a few months before heading back, so I haven’t been commenting much lately. Next week I’ll be going to Japan for a family vacation — this time to Kyushu. I really want to visit Kumamoto, Oda’s birthplace, which is in Kyushu, and see all the Straw Hat statues across the prefecture. But since this time I’m traveling with my sibling’s family as well, I don’t want to drag everyone too deeply into my own One Piece agenda, LOL. Maybe in the near future I’ll make a dedicated trip for it. Anyway, this episode was absolutely epic. I was completely on the same wavelength as both of you while watching it, and it made me so happy to experience it again through your reactions.

Cristian

yes but it think there's lot of surprises for them not just 1136.. many episodes ahead are SICKK.

Lulu-chan

Yeah, it's not every episode that uses flashbacks ofc, but when it comes to pivotal points in the story, I usually appreciate recalling all the facts leading to them

devanclan

😂😂❤️❤️ us too!!! Let’s all set sail

Malash

Amazing reaction and analyzing I really liked those two episodes and how Oda is telling his story is phenomenal, Luffy gear 5 was absolute a shocking scense on Onigashima for everyone, I felt Heather so much there i was catching up to one piece on episode 1008 and waited full week so... to see Kaido finally sent away from the Island got me on my feelings, We cannot explain the goosebumps this episodes of one piece bring to someone who didnt watched the show , btw hold on sit tight cuz next week is just getting better like u have seen last episodes ^_^ .

Jan

Love Yourself

Denjiro deserved that kill! Dammm..I’m sure he’s waited everyday for 20 years to kill that ugly, evil, snake. Finally! Wano is free!!! There goes Luffy again “pirating” a country…it’s time to eat!!

Straw Hat Hec

The end of a long awaited battle…LUFFY WON!!! WANO IS FREE!!!! 🆓🥹🙌🤍🙏✨🎉🎉🎉 After 20 years of oppression, suffering, and death, one Bajrang Gun finished it. At first when the episodes came out I was annoyed that it took three episodes for Luffy to throw that punch. But after rewatching with you both, i realized that every single moment was important to show that Luffy really is the Warrior of Liberation.
