Complete exposure to vacuum is incredibly dangerous and can kill you in like a minute. On top of that Cyn breathed vacuum which is basically a death sentence

This episode drives home the depth of Drummer’s feelings for Naomi. Drummer’s in love with her. Her anguish and rage after hearing about Naomi are unprecedented. She didn’t react like that for Fred nor Ashford. “I drink when I’m angry, not when I’m sad.” Drummer’s unrequited love for Naomi is a great story told subtly throughout the show. Their early bonding on Tycho. Drummer’s repeated digs at Holden. Her disappointment when Naomi left the Behemoth. And after her injury, Drummer’s disappointment that Naomi’s bedside visit was more business than personal. Drummer’s words to Holden in the elevator shaft when she thought she was about to die to save him and Naomi. And then Naomi saves her. It’s been a while since I read the books and can’t recall if any of the Drummer analogues feel similarly to show Drummer, but I love this personal story woven throughout the show.

I’m so happy we’re in season five. I love this season because it’s simply fantastic—but personally, I love it even more because I truly enjoy watching you finally, Really connect with Naomi. I’ve always felt like there was a bit of distance after the conflict with the boys in the earlier seasons. Even though I know you forgave her and understood her reason just like the boys did, it never quite felt like you full connected with her the same way you did the other crew members or even characters like Drummer, Ashford, or Chrissy lol.. So seeing you recognize the impact Naomi has had on so many of the main characters, and on the Belt in general, has been such a joy to watch. Your reactions have been truly enjoyable ❤️

Book Samantha is the closest to that aspect of Show Drummer. I pictured Book Samantha more like Show Sakai in terms of looks and personality (pre betrayal reveal), but the relationship between Naomi and Drummer in the show is still definitely based on the Book Naomi/ Sam relationship. Especially during Season 3.
