Better Than Friday - 293 (Patreon)

Good evening friends -

May your weekend be free from chaos and plentiful in leisure.

Thanks very much for your kind support.

1. Poet to read: Algernon Charles Swinburne - "Poems and Ballads and Atalanta in Calydon" (Paid Link)

This guy is incredible. A pagan masochist with a titanic style. Cannot wait to read this.

Discovered him reading in Chapter 18 of Camille Paglia's "Sexual Personae" (next installment coming soon).

2. The Conclusion to Walter Pater's "Studies in the History of the Renaissance".

A beautiful piece.

In Sexual Personae, Camille Paglia said it "was the first thing I ever admired for style alone."

3. Interview with NYRB Publicist Nick During on "Life On Books"

Nick's an online acquaintance - nice guy. Good conversation.

4. Ai 2027

An impressive Ai prediction over the next 2 years with the option to Choose-Your-Own-Ending.

Informative, humorous, and ominous.

The “Race” ending Reads like a Science Fiction short story.

Thanks to friend & patron Chris for sending it to me.

5. Ramy by Jan Garbarek, Anouar Brahem, Ustad Shaukat Hussain

Atmospheric track. Unique instrument arrangement.

Found in my backyard the other day
