Good evening everyone, cold as all hell here in Florida, a practically freezing 65.

Fearing for my life outdoors. I actually had to wear a coat.

Have a great weekend.

1. Book I Want to Read - The Undertaking by Thomas Lynch

The memoir of a Funeral Director who also happens to be an author and poet.

Blurbs on the back from Elmore Leonard and Jim Harrison, looks compelling.

2. After the Orgy by Jean Baudrillard

Terrifying. A great piece, though.

3. Match Point

Also terrifying, and completely brilliant. An homage to Crime and Punishment, which Rhys Meyers is seen reading in the film. One of my favorite Woody Allen films.

4. Johnny Thunders breaking my heart

That's gotta be one of the saddest songs ever written. Perfect.

I thought it might've been something up Bourdain's alley. Turned out it was the last song in the last episode of his show, though a cover.

5. The same could be said for books

"The more virgin our eyes are, the more we have to say."

Don't know if I agree with it, but fascinating to think about.

Johnny Thunders', So Alone (1978), on which you can find the above-mentioned song, is one of those albums that ears were invented for. His acoustic album, Hurt me (1983) is darn good too.

Someone considering 65°F "cold as all hell" is pretty damn funny to me. Best wishes from the 59th northern parallel, hope you're enjoying the lovely late spring temperatures!
