This is another super detailed piece from the good old days. It’s just one illustration, but it has a lot of tiny little stories hidden in it — the longer you look at it, the more details you notice.

Sigh… I wish I still had the time to do art this way: just wasting my time irresponsibly on all these tiny details. The original drawing was drawn on A3-size paper with pencil and then inked digitally. I’m usually not a big fan of my old drawings that I inked digitally, but I think this one turned out not half bad :)

Anyway, this is a super complete pack: ink, pencil, the PSD with all the layers — everything is here. Enjoy :)

Thank you for this new shop update. This one is really a classic! ’m not sure Herbology 101 was supposed to be this interactive. I love how some students look concerned while others look way too interested. I noticed something interesting between the pencil/ink version and the final colored one. Hermione’s expression feels different. It’s subtle, but it changes the whole mood of the scene. That’s exactly the kind of tiny detail that makes a big difference. And about what you said, “just wasting my time irresponsibly on all these tiny details”, I really disagree ;-) These tiny details are not a waste of time. They are the magic. The expressions, the background reactions, the small plants, the drops of liquid, the faces in the crowd… all of this is what makes the scene feel alive. It’s exactly this time and care you invest that made you a legend. Without these details, it would just be a funny drawing. With them, it becomes a full story in one image. A true Akabur's art. Thanks again for sharing this one and for giving access to all the files. It’s always a pleasure to see how much work is behind every piece.

Wow so much wow, not sure I'd see that one before. I was going to do some weeding in the back yard, but after seeing that maybe I should let it grow, you never know.

Harry Potter stuff is always fun to work with :)

Good thinking. Just wait a couple of months and than invite some female friends! XD

Well, going from pencil to ink to color is all part of the process, and I continue to make adjustments to the picture at all stages. What I kind of regret, looking at this one now, is that in the pencil version you can see the house elf polishing the table leg more clearly, whereas in the colored version the bottom gets cut off a bit and it’s not clear what he’s doing there, apart from being bothered by the student's erection. Anyway, thank you for your feedback and your support! :)
