I really think so...

You ever feel like drawing your characters in the Turning Japanese by The Vapors’ music video?... Yeah, usually me neither but turns out you just need it to happen just once and boom! Here it is.

And it was fun, I should do stuff like this more often. 

I felt like drawing this because I had the song Turning Japanese stuck in my head for like a month some time ago. See I mentioned that some time ago I rewatched all the jackass movies, and this song is featured in what I think might be my favorite Jackass bit ever; Night Pandas. 

What can I say, the vibes on that one are just perfect.

The point here is that I played the music video on YouTube like a thousand times while working because that's how I listen to music that I haven't downloaded, on YouTube and with ads.

Anyway, I guess the band made a cover or something. They either recreated the video or just made a photoshoot recreating some shot with the help of Tak and a model she knew or something idk lol

For the geisha, besides the traditional geisha look I also took kitsune masks for reference.

A fun fact about this picture is that this is actually my second attempt. I was working on a more detailed version during my free time that I didn't finish. I just got Diana's Lineart done. And that was going to be it for this idea but as I have been trying to do some cartoony stuff lately I gave it a second chance and I'm pretty happy with the result. It actually makes more sense this way. Now I'm trying to figure out which other music video it would be fun to apply this treatment to.
