Content

The time has come, the wheel has been spun, and the genre is WAR (coincidentally my favorite type of movie!)

Reminder: One submission per person, submissions are open until 12PM CST TOMORROW.

The poll for you all to choose the winner will be up Sunday afternoon!

Because this genre is my favorite I have seen a lot more than others, I wanted to include a list of movies that I have seen (that I can think of) that may be a popular submission so you don't waste your submission on something I have seen: Hacksaw Ridge, Fury, Saving Private Ryan (don't remember it), 13 Hours, Hurt Locker, Black Hawk Down, The Patriot. The rest I can't remember, feel free to comment and ask if I've seen something!

Kawaii Leonard

Troy (2004)? It's not my favourite but it's one that popped in my head when I saw this post.

The genre of war covers so much, lord of the rings has wars, are we counting fictional wars or anything that's got war in it lol 🤔

swilkins08

Jojo Rabbit for sure

All the best ones have been mentioned already, so I'll just wait for the poll. Nice to see Inglorious Basterds get the most hearts so far, that would have been my pick, but I can't believe you haven't seen it.

Starring some GOT alumni... shhh.. Don't look up the cast list.

defunctus

"The Dirty Dozen" (1967).... During World War II, a rebellious U.S. Army Major is assigned a dozen convicted murderers to train and lead them into a mass assassination mission of German officers.

Clay F

+1 for The Pianist. That is war genre.

David Girard

Have you seen Schindler’s list? It’s a very long movie and but very sad and very good it. It is actually sometimes really difficult to watch in. The whole movie is in black-and-white except one scene. It’s a movie directed by Steven Spielberg and Liam Neeson plays the main character.

Clay F

kolor, 8.4 on IMDb.

Clay F

War is one of my favorite genres. Trying to decide between these two to submit. 1. "Schindler's List" (1993) (WWII) [Spielberg]. IMDb 9.0, RT 98%, RT Audience 97%. #8 on American Film Institute (AFI) Top 100 movies all time. Everyone as a citizen of the world should watch this movie at least once. Plus, absolutely awesome movie. 2. "Apocalypse Now" (1979) (Vietnam) (theatrical version). AFI Top 100. IMDb 8.4, RT 91%, RT Audience 94%. Francis Ford Coppola.

Tax2er

Also movies with foreign language and subtitles?

MarkSpark

Yeah true that makes sense, I'll watch anything apart from romance stuff so I'm happy enough with whatever wins

Patriot Rebel

A Bridge Too Far (1977), though if you're willing to do a mini series I would LOVE to see you do Band of Brothers!!!!

Darryl Glynn

Kelly's Heroes. Starring Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, and Telly Savalas. One of my favourite war movies.
