Alanis has way more songs that sound alt indie than alt rock ... and a very personal writing style, like Taylor. If you follow her, you also know the muses of all her work ... like Taylor. For example, Flavors of Entanglement is an entire album about her breakup with Ryan Reynolds. "Unsent", "That I Would Be Good (MTV Unplugged version)", and "Thank You" are some of my favorite Alanis songs. As Madeline would say, you need to open your heart to Alanis. Because a lot of artists were directly inspired by her honesty on Jagged Little Pill (Taylor, Avril Lavigne, even Katy Perry). She's the OG. Show some respect.

also you'd be shocked that ryan gosling was getting early buzz BEFORE the movie even came out, we knew in nov of 2022 that people were labeling him as a standout, also it's a bit diff for me that he's nominated in supporting actor. I'm fine with him being nominated there as that's usually where comedic performances get nominated (melissa mccarthy was nominated for bridesmaids). I personally prefer Ruffalo's performance in poor things as a comedic choice but idm gosling being there since we're giving it to rdj for no real reason yk. Also Emma Stone winning over lily was always on the cards, mainly cause if you've seen poor things its sort of undeniable and emma almost had an unfair advantage going in just cause of how juicy that role was. Sorry to blabber but i am an oscarologist LOLL!! also also lily gladstone was originally campaigned in supporting and was later moved to lead which is a bad choice in terms of voting cause people already saw your performance as supporting even if it wasnt yk. Additionally there was a decent amount of pushback from the Osage community about Lily's role in the movie, they said that they were very conflicted which isnt a good look. (i for one agree and wanted more from lily's character) but overall that is the oscars tea. I also want to say that barbie being nominated and up for wins isnt that shocking considering top gun maverick had a similar path last year. OH also also, people were so shocked by margot missing but it was actually not shocking to those in the know (she was never in my predictions) cause her performance was never gonna get a lot of number 1 votes which is what counts when deciding who gets nommed. additionally she was actually nominated as a producer and campaigned heavily there so people seem to forget that

yeah, she gets reduced to "jagged little pill" a lot, but she has released a lot of albums. i think, "hands clean" was an interesting departure from her more rock-inspired beginnings. also lyrically - it's about a relationship with a much older man when she was pretty young. the fact that this really is one of the poppiest songs ever and is so easy to sing along to kind of clashes with the lyrics in an interesting way. i remember being really gagged about this back in the day, but i was also shocked at how poppy she had become. the old alanis could no longer come to the phone at that point 😉. her honesty/confessional songwriting was something else, though! i think "not as we", "this grudge", "madness" and "simple together" have interesting lyrics for taylor fans maybe (well, maybe!), as these songs describe the post-relationship/post break-up feeling very well and include a couple of lines that are pretty clever (😎), but some of them sound a bit dated, i guess. some of her pop bangers include "hands clean", "sister blister", "precious illusions", "straitjacket", "eight easy steps", "versions of violence", "woman down".

I agree both that KOTFM, specifically Lily Gladstone, was robbed. I love Emma Stones performance, but I love how subtle that Lily Gladstone was. Also, Anatomy of a Fall is sooo good. Honestly, I loved most of the best picture noms, expect for the flop that was Maestro. My #1 was Past Lives.

"anatomy of a fall" and "past lives" were both outstanding, i think. "poor things" was great as well, but a bit too porn for my liking. and by porn i mean male-gaze porn, not aesthetic porn that would have fitted the movie. this really put me off... but the rest of the movie i loved!

I was one of the people who left a Nicole raffie comment, and honestly, I have trigger fingers. I wanted to comment before the videos over. I didn’t even get to the point in the video where he credits Nicole yet.
