Welcome back to Taylor Talk, where we debrief the trials and tribulations of the past month's Swiftiedom. April was a seismic shift in tonality for the fan base. With delusion running amuck, we reflect on what we learned (that Joe Alwyn is the heirloom turkey). Video coming soon!

The discussion on tiktokers/locals who love to argue about anything (and are usually misinformed) literally just summarises Gen Z. Like, not even in the literal sense of all Gen Z and only people of those born in those particular years, but the effect that Gen Z has had on the world and the way everyone loves to be self-righteous and argumentative online... so glad I found a safe swiftie space online filled with adult snakes with critical-thinking skills. And on your points about newer artists that Taylor fans love to suck-ass to, as a millennial-gen Z cusp, I definitely relate more to millennials and that generation of pop music. I agree that a lot of the younger artists just aren't matching up to the iconic legendary status of the Taylors, the Rhiannas, the Beyonces, the Lanas, or fuck, even the Katys of the golden years of 2010's pop. The market now is over-saturated with Gracies and dare I say Pheobes who just have music that all sounds the same and uncompelling, Pheobe has made it a brand for herself, and so she holds a bit more credibility but none of them seems to hold any charisma, which sounds very familiar ala heirloom turkey

I think to add to the Phoebe discussion what sets her aside in that "uncompellingness" brand that she has is she does actually have charisma and a compellingness to her and her sound even though she's not a "performer" in the sense of when you think of a performance. The other singer/songwriters in the genre don't have much of a charisma about them so while their music may be good and sound good, it will be lost eventually as people get bored and want entertainment.
