Glad you are enjoying hazel. I find him an extremely complex character and a lot of reactors just dismiss him due to the flaw in Hazel's logic in blaming Oz for his sister's choice and especially how its presented. Its not dove into as deep as it could be in regards to Hazel but the reason the othrs don't trust Oz right now seems tk be how Hazel is looking at it, even if he only has some of the story. Outside of Ozpin, he is a fairly noble character with purpose Really fits the "bryonic hero" archtype (who dont all need to be heroes)

I like that you noticed how much Weiss was shaken up by the discovery of the corpses. Considering Weiss and Yang went upstairs, and we hear Weiss scream out from horror; I have to imagine she went into that bedroom with Yang behind her, got up to the bed and maybe tried to wake the man up before realizing he's dead. Then backed up into Yang when she freaked out. But bundled up Weiss is so cute, its crazy how adorable she can be. I think the animation upgrade helped us see her full cuteness potential. Yuri without angst and drama?? Not in this house! If you ever see chains or bars on something, just remember, it may not be to keep people out! Can't wait for you to see the next two episodes, they're another reason why this volume is my favorite.

Weekly chloe bee post.I love that you pointedout how blake grabs her metal arm and its great she treats it like its no different. You might have missed it but when blake makes a joke about a tractor being street legal and yang ignores her, blake runs back to stay close and its really cute

When Salem is talking about love, justice, and reverence, she is talking about the motivation of the group. Emerald's motivation is love because of her feelings for Cinder. Hazel is justice because he wants revenge for his sister. Tyrion is reverence because he worships Salem and chaos. I'm not sure how to categorized Mercury, and Watts's motivation will be revealed later.

Silly Morgan. You know you have to earn your happy Yuri through angst and drama! 😀 Great catch whenever the girls mention they're tired! It is important. But not going to spoil why. I love this volume. All of the little moments between the characters are so great. I love how with Blake and Yang you can feel the awkwardness that still exists between the two but you can tell they still care for each other so much. And the way both Weiss and Ruby react to the cellar hinting at them both not being too fond of anything alcohol related due to their experiences with their Mom and Uncle. Cannot wait until you get to the next set of episodes!!

Yeah, it's understandable that the group reacted poorly to the truth, Qrow especially since as you said, he followed Oz without question. To find out that he was following a man who had no plans to stop the apocalypse, that would crush even the most loyal of people. Looks to be a place-holder for Tyrian's tail till Watts gets the final product done. Maybe a nub to anchor the new prospective? Makes sense that Salem holds Cinder accountable, Leo spilled the beans prior to this meeting before he was killed off. Well, one of the Grimm arms is blocking Hazel's mouth and nose, so even if he wanted to fight back, he'd suffocate very quickly, so he doesn't. Yeah, the whole love and justice speech refers to each of the members individual goals. Emerald's love for Cinder [up to interpretation in what kind of love], Justice referring to Hazel wanting justice for his sister. So yeah, Salem is not much different from Oz, manipulating others into doing what she wants. But while Oz feels remorse for doing so and deems it necessary for the greater good, Salem has no issue with the morals of said deceit. She can make all of the empty promises she wants, cause nothing bad will end up happening to her, as far as she sees. --- The grand return of the Ice[Cream] Queen! Neo! It was great to see her after so long, and it seems she never really moved on from the events of Volume 3. Hard to blame her when she wasn't present when he died, only knowing that Ruby was there and hold her and Cinder accountable [the later for making the plan that lead to his death]. Feel this is the best time to properly explain Neo's Semblance, cause the show never stopped to explain it in detail, leaving it to supplementary material. Neo's Semblance is 'Overactive Imagination'. Basically, anything Neo can imagine, she can make a physical construct of it that can interact with the world, though they're fragile under force, shattering like glass as a result [or whenever Neo deactivates it willingly]. Neo often uses them to misdirect opponents away as she moves around undetected. But the key thing is that it's only a visual trick, it doesn't affect your other senses. And given Neo is mute, she can't do certain things without giving herself away like impersonating someone, unless they're unassuming. Well, seems Halloween came early this year. Prepare for some spookiness~ And yeah, they all got spooked by the corpses. But Weiss seems the most shaken up, and it makes sense since she's the most sheltered of the girls in regards to death. Blake has likely seen people die during her time in the White Fang, Ruby and Yang had to come to term with Summer's passing, and even Oscar likely had to deal with it while living outside of the kingdoms. And while she has heard of people within the SDC getting killed, she didn't give it much thought since she never witnessed any of them in person. So yeah, poor Weiss has had it rough during these last 3 volumes. Disowned by her father, having a close death experience thanks to Cinder, and now this. Yeah, Yang has been pretty moody these last few episodes. But given all of the drama that's been happening, and likely still having Raven in her mind, plus the whole thing with Oz, not to mention Adam; yeah, Yang feels like the world is out to get her. The same girl that was force to grow up too quickly to care for her sister when nobody was able to do it [Tai was depressed, Qrow was distant, and both moms gone for different reasons]. So yeah, Blake's comment on protecting her came off as an offensive comment [unintentional as it was], Yang probably saw it as Blake giving her pity, and that's the last thing Yang wants. Especially coming from Blake of all people.

25:08 thing with Neo's semblace is that she make illusions of whatever she can imagine, are made and looks like glass, but as cinder said 'she got stronger', because during all the fight inside the bar, that wasnt Neo, it was a solid illusion, cinder actually hit her and the illusion hit cinder too and fight back but the moment it got out it broke from too many damage, so Neo's illusions now can become solid but arent very resilient but imagine the possibilities... You can notice when the real Neo shows up, her clothes are more messy because she has been living on the streets searching for cinder and ruby

That was the classroom scene where Yang attempts to get Blake to slow down so she shares her own personal trauma and youthful err(aka mistake/misjudgment) as an example of what NOT to do. Ep 4: Ugh, the tension in the scene with Salem is just... UGH! I freakin love that scene so much. Salem is so intimidating and she never has to really raise her voice. Jen Taylor's performance gives me chills. The music also just gives me anxiety. In a good way. There's also the small and subtle moment after her big "you can only get what you want through me" speech where she just takes a moment, sighs and says "and so we must press on." Like this woman has wanted to die for centuries and she just can't. (Mainly because she also refuses to learn the "lesson" the gods wanted to "teach" her but I digress.) Then there's also the moment where she flips the table with "That wouldn't be fair now" and she said the same thing when the GoL told her he wouldn't bring Oz back. Oh, Salem, honey, you've learned so much and yet so little. Ep 5: Finally, the debut of Neo in the Maya engine. Look at her go! Gotta admit, very entertaining seeing her kick Cinder’s butt until Cinder brings out the Maiden powers. Also the reveal that she’s wearing Roman’s hat! Instantly cluing people in to why she’s after Cinder until she’s redirected to Ruby. Ugh! My Bees! The miscommunication hurts me! Blake with the right intentions saying the wrong thing!

Neo had the upper hand before the powers, but backed off immediately when the powers came out, Neo deserves praise for the badass she is but lets not get crazy lol. Neo is one of the most skilled fighters in rwby (probably 2nd in just raw skill) but shes still only human

yeah, i mean, all fight in the bar? that wasnt even neo, that was a glass copy, so cinder was fighting a glass copy all along and they were in equal conditions, neo can basically worn off cinder without lifting a hand, she confronted cinder herself jsut for what she wanted, but if it was about actually beating her up, she could have done it wasily if cinder didnt have the maiden powers, the moment she use them, neo knew she cant fight THAT because lets be real, cinder can jsut float up and throw lightnings and fireballs at her... kinda reminds me on how WotC manages the martial vs caster powergap...

Because she’s such a badass it’s easy to forget that Weiss has the least amount of experience by far. Weiss being a lot more disturbed by this than anyone else makes a lot of sense, as does Blake (who is probably the most used to this kind of thing aside from Qrow) having no visible reaction, and actively trying to keep everyone else going (putting the blanket around Weiss, suggesting something productive to do in an upbeat tone). It shows a lot of character progression for Blake that now when her another bad thing happens her reaction is to try to make things better for her friends rather than taking it as a sign things will always get worse and worse, like she did at Beacon

I’ll forever love that shot of Tyrion getting in Emerald’s face. Not just showing he welcomes pain, but demonstrating that he didn’t even feel threatened enough by her to bring up his aura, much less draw a weapon.
