On this edition of Once In A Lifetime, we're getting in the Halloween Spooktacular spirit with a chat about a Wes Craven TV movie, Invitation to Hell!

How hilarious is the cold open of this movie with Susan Lucci and that limo driver? Is this the same neighborhood from Poltergeist? Does Robert Urich's family hate him before all the cult stuff? Say hello to Frank from Murphy Brown! How hilarious is this notion about going to Venus by 1987? And what's that weirdo forcefield around all the family in Hell? PLUS: Someone shoulda told that boss to second guess that Halloween costume, yikes!

Invitation to Hell stars Robert Urich, Joanna Cassidy, Joe "Frank from Murphy Brown" Regalbuto, Kevin McCarthy, Patty McCormack, Bill Erwin, Soleil Moon Frye, Barret Oliver, and Susan Lucci as Jessica Jones; directed by Wes Craven.

The Craven tier is like the country club of the WHM community

Move over Freddy, this is the definitive Wes Craven horror experience of 1984.

I just put Summer Of Fear (1978) on my watch later on YouTube

Generation X is awful. I can't wait.

Cabin says, “At some point if you continue with this you will have the urge to tell everyone else to come and do this, that’s about it.” You just described church.

Love how Dad pulls a Charlie and Grandpa Bucket. Sneaking away from the guide but instead of drinking fizzy lifting drinks, he finds a Super sex demon

I waitressed at a country club too! I would always try to start moving back to the kitchen when there was just one cocktail weenie left on the plate so I could hastily shove it in my mouth, but sadly sometimes someone grabbed it.

I l8ve that you guys keep referr8ng to "Frank from Murphy Brown" as opposed to just saying Joe Regalbuto

I'm definitely keeping up the conspiracy board. After this I threw on the new Family Guy Halloween special where Brian and Stewie go to hell and they do a joke about old commercial formats and they play the trailer for the Susan Lucci TV movie.... Lady Mobster! I laughed so hard and my daughter looked at me like I was deranged

Andrew is in fact extremely correct (the second-best kind of correct): a flamethrower would not work on Venus. Venus's atmosphere is like living inside a giant fire extinguisher. I hope Frank from Murphy Brown got fired for that blunder.

That Barret Oliver kid also played the android boy in the movie D.A.R.Y.L., (which you guys should consider if it's streaming somewhere) He was honestly neck and neck with Henry Thomas for King D.S.B. of the '80s for awhile there.

I worked in the kitchen at a country club for almost eight years. Multiple members of the rich part of the family were members there. Which only came up when attending a cousin's wedding reception, at which time I said hi to chef and the few cooks that remained on the line.

Urich also starred in Spenser for Hire (later rebooted with Joe Mantegna), which included Avery Brooks as a virtual costar, leading to his spinoff A Man Called Hawk, and DS9.

Steve, please watching the original Invasion of the Body Snatches! It’s so good!

I think Andrew unlocked a long-dormant memory of me absolutely seeing Nightmare on the 13th Floor on TV as a kid. I think I need to hunt a copy down and revisit it...
