Andrew's talk about how terrifying Return to Oz still is made me think of the fact that whenever someone brings up the Wheelers or the disembodied heads as the scariest elements of the film, I point to my counterpoint: The way that the goddamned (supposedly friendly) Scarecrow looks 😳 (Edit: I do mean the Scarecrow, and NOT the pumpkinhead, who may not be a looker but certainly isn't scary either.)

Since they mentioned the See No Evil movie staring the wrestler Kane, I get to share one of my favorite trivia tidbits. The film was a WWE picture, so Vince McMahon had final say and input on the script. He wanted a scene where one of the women leads peers through a crack in a wall and sees naked Kane, complete with “a huge 2-3 foot cock.” The penis size was non-negotiable. I guess it required several all-hands on deck meetings with Vince before he finally relented on the huge-cock Kane scene.

The non leprechaun actors that could be ranked would iirc be Francis from Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Miguel A. Nunez and then very far below Anthony Montgomery who was part of Enterprise's main cast, though one who had the least episodes focused on him.

Regarding gun nuts losing their minds if someone gets a type or detail wrong: I once heard best-selling thriller writer John Sandford at a book signing. He told a great story about how he once screwed up and forgot that he had a recurring character get married and have a baby in a previous book. When he brought her back he wrote her as childless and single. Nobody caught it so the book was published with that error. Oops. But the kicker is that he said got way less angry feedback from fans about that than the time he wrote that a certain gun model had a safety switch when it didn't.

Hellraiser has been relaunched in comics form in addition to the game. Butterball, Chatterer, etc are revived in them but CDhead and Camerahead appear v briefly only to be killed off by one of the original lineup.

As I’ve gotten older and older I’ve found that I find less joy in Christmas but more joy in the Halloween season. For me it begins the first Tuesday in October when I hear the Spooktacular theme. And I do get a bit sad when it’s over.
