The biggest reason that this show was successful was that they had Todd Howard the head of Bethesda Game Studios as an executive producer and actually had input from the people who helped create this world. That really is the secret. JK Rowling had input on the Harry Potter movies and Hogwarts Legacy as well. The writers of Avatar the Last Airbender were originally working with the people who made the live action show and they split due to "creative differences" and that show was very poorly received.

The Media Knights

That's such a good point - when you have people who have had a hand in developing the original content, on the project, it makes such a difference! If they studio cooperates, you can just feel the love being brought into the adaptation and more adaptations should strive for that! We have been having a blast with this show, it's been absolutely fantastic!

Very glad to see you guys picking up on all the subtle threads being laid out! Many "reviewers" never seem like they're paying full attention to the background story as much as the foreground. One thing I'll add that you may not have consciously noticed: Cooper has a very generic American accent in his pre-war scenes, whereas The Ghoul has a pronounced Southern twang... like his character in the movie. 🤔

Ludus Aurea

The wrist thing is called a Pip Boy it's in all the newer games and there are a couple versions in real life. Fallout 4 collector's edition came with one which basically is a mount for your smartphone but it only fits certain phones. The prop made for the show is similar - it holds an iPhone but I'm not sure if it's just an app or they actually wrote a whole operating system for the show. Ella Purnell told a story in interviews that she destroyed like 10 of them because she kept accidentally sending the phone flying across the room on set. I think Fallout 76 centennial edition also came with a Pip Boy. The prop on the show is awesome and in addition to being a reference itself it's a source of multiple easter eggs. At the beginning of Episode 1 when Lucy is talking about herself, you can see Norm using his pipboy to play a version of Asteroids, which is a thing you can do in Fallout 4. The pipboy in the game has a few different games, one I know for sure is like Fallout version of Donkey Kong that's the first one you find. But everything you see on the Pip Boy in the show is in/from the games like the minimap or how Chet pulls the little usb interface cord from his to unlock the Vault 32 door in episode 1.

The thing about the Fallout games, is that you can choose to be good and caring angel but you can also choose to be a ruthless psychopath and kill everyone and everything, it's all your decision 🔥🔥🔥

If you start playing Fallout 4, you will understand every reference because they're so specific and iconic... I recommend 4 because it's the most updated and relevant 💯

One last thing about the games... I don't want to spoil anything about the Vaults but I just want to say "experimentation" 🤔

Nowhere Man

Did anyone else notice that the Super Duper Mart had power? Where is the power coming from?
