Comments

Michael G. Munz

Woot! Looks like I'm staying up later tonight. I hope the cider supply holds out! 😁

Michael G. Munz

😁 🍻 Speaking from experience, what's really fun is filming reactions while drinking cider. 😁

I know this movie isn’t a cinematic masterpiece by any means but I still love it. Can’t wait to watch it with you guys 😁

Luis Ramirez

YESSS i was literally thinking when will they do resurrection another movie night ready to go

Sagitaria

Hi guys! Well then, I still hold the title of being the only one that find the alien humanoid cute 😂, and felt really bad with that look of betrayal in his eyes when Repley had to kill him. For me the whole movie makes sense in the way they wanted to go. It’s logical that if when they cloned both of them, Repley got some alien trades, that the queen will get some human trades too. And Repley knew in the 3rd movie that she was carrying a queen, that’s why they bring her back. Great reaction as always guys! See you soon 💜

Yesss! Finally! Was waiting for this for so long <3

Thanks for this, Reaction .. I've Been Watching many of your Full Movie, Reactions over the Last Several Days - so much FUN, to Share these Experiences with You Both - Keep them coming. **Fact - Ripley actually made that Basketball Shot, without Looking, She practiced for 2 Weeks prior to Shooting the Scene, it only took Her, once to Pull it off .. She said that it was *One of the Best Moments in Her Life"

Hey ! Great reaction as always. Did u watch the show "Vikings" ? If u didn't , it would be great if u react to it !

BlueJean452

Fun fact after practicing for weeks Sigourney Weaver was able to make that backwards basketball shot on her first take. Ron Perlman almost ruined the shot because he broke character and cheered. After several more tries, she was unable to make the shot a second time, which is why they have to cut away so quickly.

Lets do this!! This is, we'll, it's a movie. The effects are great and look amazing. It's just weird on so many levels. I have been looking into the background/making of this movie and the newborn alien, thing was originally worse. They had given it genitalia, male and female. The studio stepped in which is one time I'm glad they did. Watching with you guys will be a fun ride.😃

I got the Special/Extended Edition on YouTube, had trouble trying to align it with how you two were watching it, lol! It has extra scenes that were not in the theater cut. This movie was a fun ride, not sure why critics were hating on it (same with Predator 2, which got the same flack, but I thought it was entertaining). I remember watching this at the theater in '97 when I was 15-16 years old...how time flies!

There's a few other movies from the Alien universe that you don't seem to be aware of. Prometheus and Covenant. There's also a second AvP, Requiem..

Love that you went all the way and watched this one as well. I hope you go all out and watch Prometheus and the shitshow that is Alien: Covenant. If you thought this one had plotholes, just wait until you see Covenant. Ok, so this one needs some dissecting. The reason you have problem with the second half actually makes sense, because that is the part that had the most re-work scriptwise. It says "Joss Whedon" in the beginning, which is, well, just not true. Joss is the 3rd or 4th writer on this. Basically the others just couldn't get the second half working so eventually they called in Joss and he had to try to "fix" it. He couldn't and he said he couldn't. They went ahead and did it anyway. The studio meddled a lot towards the end and it just ended up a whole mess. Now, let's talk about the actual film. Weaver is excellent as always and I actually like the weirdness that this version of Ripley has. She pretty much nails some xenomorph movement and manerisms, which is pretty cool and makes sense. Also delivers some great one-liners. Perlman is fantastic and Ryder is pretty good as well. I can't really critique any of the acting, most of it works. The effects as well are very good, like you said, the fact that they went practical as much as they did is just great. Considering when it was made the effects work pretty much overall, which is uncommon at this time. I have to admit that this movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, but the end part with the silly monster baby is unfortunately horrible. The rest of the movie I feel works. Some recommendations as I like to do: The Maltese Falcon (1941) Surrogates (2009) The Road From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) El laberinto del fauno (2006)

Can’t wait for Prometheus and Covenant

This movie was never my thing, but I always like it when we get to see additional features of the aliens that we didn't see in other films like how they use their problem-solving skills to escape and their acid spitting features which is only seen once, maybe twice if that's what the one in alien 3 did. The movie really went south with the newborn. I get that they were experimenting, but that's single handedly the ugliest thing I ever saw. I honestly like when there's more mystery to the aliens and some things not get too much exposure. It helps to keep the mystique around the aliens as a whole.   Really looking forward to seeing y'all react to Predators 2010 and AVP Requiem. I like both, but for AVP definitely need to turn up the brightness for. Prometheus and Covenant are interesting just from a lore perspective. Also looking forward to y'all reacting to Dante's Peak for the disaster flicks.

Of the four "Alien" movies you've seen so far on the channel, this is the one that I wasn't a big fan of. You hit on a lot of the issues I had with it, and other comments covered most of the rest. It was easy to see the multiple rewrites in the final product, but even so, the movie has its moments. It's not all bad. I know there are fans of this movie out there, and it always frustrated me to see people telling all the reactors to "stop after 'Aliens'. There are no movies after that." I liked "Alien 3," as I mentioned on that video, and I hated watching reactors give up after the second movie because of a minority of haters. It's why I never recommended skipping this one, even though I'm not personally a fan of it the way I am of the other three, and why I'm glad that you watched it and made up your own mind about it. I'm hoping you'll be watching "Predators" and "AvP: Requiem" (with the brightness up a few clicks for that one), sometime in the near future. Looking forward to both, if they're coming, and to whatever else comes in-between them. Hope your weekend was great! ✌️🤓

Wow guys :) Really amazed that you watched this one! It is the lesser of the opening movies, by a long way. And yeah it has plot holes galore and a mad ending. But still ... I have a strange fondness for it :)

Emperor Raven

I agree so much... the film has a lot of neat experiments and concepts, but it really does go all over the place, while the "hybrid" xenomorph is... ONE... UGLY... MOTHAF*CKA! Lol... the ending does make me cringe too, but some parts are OK otherwise. Another victim of too many script rewrites and execution issues, but at least it's a fun ride! From Dusk Till Dawn is awesome! <3

Emperor Raven

Heh that's interesting... I thought she was all cgi because she wanted her character to die in Alien 3 lol.

Emperor Raven

That would be interesting... I was watching it before and stalled, gotta get back to it! :D

Emperor Raven

Wow so doing this film really boosted her self-esteem lol, I agree too it's so fun watching along with them! :)

Emperor Raven

Guys that was one wicked fun and wild reaction hahaha! I know this isn't a great film and while it has some contradictions, I gotta respect it for being fun! With every post-reaction film analysis and closing thoughts... I grow to appreciate traditional film making techniques, quality storytelling, and rich, charming, meaningful characterization when done right! The practical effects and set designs were definitely impressive here and I agree with the ugly af creature design for the hybrid lol. I love Ron Perlman in this film for being the apish wild cannon, Gary Dourdan for being the reasonable heroic cat that wasn't willing to leave anyone behind, Winona Ryder for being the compassionate voice of reason android, the wheelchair guy (Dominique Pinon) was cool in his role and actually enjoyed his character, plus Ripley who is clearly very different and weird as she takes on more of an anti-hero role. The film could have been much stronger with a solid script and vision intact, it just feels like a final "whatever... GO CRAZY" film!

If Alien 3 was a funeral, Alien Resurrection (1997) is a weird, neon-lit wake where everyone got a little too drunk. Written by Joss Whedon and directed by French visionary Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie), it is easily the strangest, wettest, and most "comic-book" entry in the series. Alien Resurrection is experimental sci-fi at its most chaotic. It’s gross, funny, and visually arresting. It lacks the "purity" of the first two films, but it has a punk-rock energy that makes it much more rewatchable than most people admit.
