THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW (2004) FULL LENGTH MOVIE REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Comments

Draekor Targaryen

how come we can't see or hear the movie/show y'all react to here on patreon?

Freight Train Jon

@The Media Knights I remember seeing this in theaters. I can't imagine something like that happening.

The Media Knights

Putting the entire movie on here is illegal. It is not considered fair use and we could face some serious legal repercussions because it would be seen as us reselling movies to you guys. Which is obviously not what this is. All of these reactions are in "Watch Along" format which means you need to sync utilizing your own copy of the film. The little portion at the beginning is there to help out with syncing!

The Media Knights

It would be terrifying! Still thinking about the size of that absolutely massive wave!

My wife and I re-watched this, like, yesterday!!?!?! Wtf y'all stop reading our minds!! (Then watched '2012.' Ha!) Cheers.

Joey Cintron

Not a bad natural disaster movie...

TJ

This one was up there when it came to disaster flicks. Still think the California tornadoes were a bit over the top, but still enjoyable. Can definitely relate to the weather guys being like "what', there's a tornado in California?" Had one nearly land on my apartment a couple years ago early in the morning and didn't know until sirens started blaring and phone alarms went off.

The Media Knights

No way! Wow! Hope you guys had a great time. Sounds like an awesome weekends watching some nice disaster flicks 😁

The Media Knights

The visuals hold up strong with this one! What a fantastic time!

The Media Knights

Oh wow! Can't imagine waking up to such an intense situation. It takes me at least 15 minutes to understand where I am and who I am after I wake up 😂

Must admit, I feel it's much easier enjoying these films from the 'safety' of the SouthEast Coast...

Show Town

Another good movie choice. I was wondering if your choice of uploading the full reaction on YouTube instead of the other form here on patreon, like some of your old posts, is out of convenience and practicality or it is just for no particle reason. I dont mind either way other than the fact you can not do the pic in pic format with YouTube.

Show Town

never mind just searched the web and apparently there is a way to do that on pc. Thanks for the entertainment you provide us. much love

Freight Train Jon

If y'all haven't seen it already, The Director of The Day After Tomorrow has another one called 2012.

Semaj Brown

I literally just watched this movie yesterday on Hulu🤣 not knowing y’all were planning to watch it and god damn, I’ll watch it again. I love this movie. Can’t wait to see your thoughts.

I have to admit, this movie held up a lot better than what I was expecting. I haven't seen this in years and I was thinking it might be a lot worse than I remembered. Genuinely surprised about how good it was. The scope and scale of this movie is huge, so it would be very easy to make it cool but very soulless. What is the "genius" of this movie is that we as an audience actually connects with the characters. Sure, it's still a bit on the shallow side as there is too many people involved for us to care about everyone, but the survivors in the library and Dennis Quaids character are all super easy to relate to. I also find it interesting that we get that classic trope of people banding together when they have to, but in this one it feels a lot more genuine than in some other cases. Not as "american", if you understand what I mean. Regarding the effects, pretty much the only thing that looks a little bit out of date are the wolves. Everything else is very well made, especially considering it was made 20 years ago. The social commentary feels necessary as the whole plot is that we wrecked the environment and the planet wrecks us back. The little jab at immigrant policies is fun, but also true. Overall, a very fun experience to watch this with you guys. I always like to leave recommendations when I can: The Replacement Killers (1998) From Hell (2001) Inside Man (2006) Chinatown (1974) Desperado (1995)

Nice stuff TheMediaKnights! Can't wait for ya'll to be blown away by Kingdom Of Heaven. I'm hoping ya'll get a chance to review the following as well: - Super 8 - Kick-Ass - Apocalypto - Tears Of The Sun

Dee

That tsunami scene stressed me out more than anything else. The tornados were a close second though😬😬

Mike Jenson

Deep Impact should be the next on your disaster list. It's actually something that will one day happen.

I’m glad you all enjoyed this film it is one of my favorites, I thoroughly enjoy watching your reactions. Hope you had a great weekend. Here are my couple of recommendations for disaster flicks. #1 is Dante’s Peak, a fantastic volcano natural disaster movie starring Pierce Brosnan, you might know him as “Bond, James Bond”, #2 is Geostorm which is more of a futuristic natural disaster/action movie starring Gerard Butler.

Tim Heron

If you didn't like the VP, it's likely because Kenneth Welsh was cast because he resembles Dick Cheney, and the film was intended as a criticism of George W. Bush's climate-change policy.

Helion

Please let Dante Peak be next :)

Jamie Hicks

Great movie, and one of my wife's favourite films along with twister and kindergarten cop. Sometimes I wonder why I married her 🤔 . Just kidding keep up the great work .

Tatiana Ferreira

I'm so happy I was a teen in the early 2000s. I went to the movies every week! What a time to be alive! 🤓 I remember watching this one in theatres and it was very impactful, everyone was talking about it. I also remember this movie was in theatres along with Van Helsing, which is also a movie you should watch if you haven't already.

TN

I love these type of movies! Would love to see you watch 2012 aswell (:

BlueJean452

It’s so funny the different things that irk us (not seriously 😉) or we notice based on our own life experiences. You guys questioning if that ship would actually fit based on your NY knowledge. Me as a pharmacy tech side eyeing the penicillin cause it doesn’t come as a liquid. IV penicillin is a powder you have to reconstitute cause the liquid isn’t shelf stable for very long. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Casimir

Question! When you talk about spoilers, you're asking not to post spoilers for you to keep the purity of the reaction but once you've seen it we can talk about it freely, correct?

BubblyRainbows

As a person with health issues both mental and physical, I don't know why I find disaster movies so fascinating, since I have yet to see one, I'd last through the first day of (or sometimes just the first hours). A playlist of these movies could just be called "A Thousand Ways Bubbly Would Die". But they're still so much fun for some reason. I like the serious(ish) tone of this movie, but after the snowstorm that hit this area two years ago and knocked out power, I can't view this one quite as seriously as I used to. There were people in this area that died from just the cold we had and a few days without heat or power. It got down to the low 40s in our house even with a fireplace for warmth and only about 70 hours without power. I doubt very much that a fire and a few closed doors would save them from the kind of cold that freezes gasoline in the lines in seconds. Of course, as I said in the "Volcano" watchalong, I don't watch these movies for realism. With disaster movies, the over-the-top fun is more important than the realism of the scenario. I rate this movie very high on my disaster funometer. It's not my favorite, but it's up there. I hope there are more disaster movies on the schedule for the coming weeks. Still hoping to see a few specific ones sometime soon. Can't wait to see what's next!

Ludus Aurea

Lol I watched for 5 minutes going "Wow copyright butchered this" and then I had to re-read the title and realize I was doing it wrong.

PumpkinHat

I was thinking as y'all were talking about the music at the beginning of the movie if y'all have ever heard Nightwish? They're a Finnish symphonic metal band that I think you two would really like since you like that kind of epic music. Specifically The Greatest Show on Earth and Ghost Love Score are two songs I think you would really enjoy.

Nya

Always has been one of my favorites. Im so excited

Ryan Towell

I've always liked this movie.. it's fun. -150 freezing up.. Coldest I've ever experienced is -125 but that was the real feel, but still flippin seriously cold. I remember thinking about this movie when that happened.

Emperor Raven

Wooo exciting... this is my FAVORITE disaster film of all time, going to enjoy watching along with you guys right now! :O
