I LOVED the cinematography, and how they built tension with those long, wide shots. Loved the supernatural/psychic FBI agent angle (as a Twin Peaks fan I wish there had been a little more of that, even). Nicholas Cage was Nicholas Cage-ing in a way I'd never quite seen before. Acting, writing, directing were awesome all around. Loved this one so much!

I think I enjoyed this movie more the second time around so I'm glad I got to rewatch it! Another good Maika Monroe movie suggestion would be It Follows from 2014!

Initially, the film drew me in with a strong 40-minute opening. But Nicolas Cage's usual theatrics made it hard to take seriously after that. Stylish cinematography couldn't save it from being a missed opportunity. Just my opinion.
