cara

buggy time 🤤

Qhoa

W

지원

yes!!

Silentwtf

going crazy with content, easily becoming my #1 channel youtube and patreon

charlie

I dislike that the live action makes it only seawater that can weaken devil fruit users when in the anime its any liquid

Marcus D

Correct, I think for most characters, the live action jp dub used the same voice actors from the anime. Goated choice by the jp team

지원

Yayy i love it

Marcus D

No even that, it’s coming into contact with it at all that makes them weak in this version, while in the original story it’s being submerged in any body of water

Ana

Omg yaaaay was not expecting this so soon. Can’t wait for episode 3 that’s where it really picks up

Ana

Fr I need some more BTS reactions

McKay Carter

Buggy is crazy in the live action

Patrick Bateman

Stranger Things, My Hero Academia, and OP Live Action. We drowning in content, lets go.

lana

hell yeah

shadowwalker

Yeah the original Japanese voice actors agreed to do the Japanese dub for the show

Maj

Watching the japanese dubbed version would lowkey be a vibe lmaooo

Ella

this buggy can get it

Adri

Does anyone know if they are planning to react to the new demon slayer movie once it comes out on crunchyroll?

SavDog23

Buggy truly is the GOAT

Belly

probably

Mahti

This is worse than I remembered 😅

Patrick Bateman

52:10 He sounds nothing like The Penguin lol 52:48 And yeah Colin Farrell is in The Gentlemen, great movie.

Alex

It's not "any liquid" in the manga/anime. It's any standing water (e.g. the sea, lakes, rivers etc). Rain, showers, drinking liquids, etc don't affect devil fruit users. Just look at how Luffy swallowed a barrel of water to fight Crocodile in Alabaster.

Dee

Buggy is so hot 😫

Ana

He is 😭😭

Marcus D

No its specifically having the body be submerged in water. DF users for example, have no problem walking ankle deep at the lake or beach but oda has said that when it’s higher than the ankles they start to feel weaker and that feeling progressively gets stronger the more they’re submerged.

Nrock23

can someone remind me how much of OP jack has seen?

charlie

you are misconstruing what i’m saying if a devil fruit user is in a sea of soda or something they will not be able to swim i don’t think that is a stretch to say because soda is made predominantly of water so are many liquids so i’d say any liquid that is predominantly water

HeavenlyR

Last I remember he was in the 900s

Marcus D

35:48 Lord Of D. Coast spotted

Halfblood Fuko

It's not the best made but it has great effort that's why people liked it when it came out.

Marcus D

@charlie correct.

Jimmy

Im curious how long they can realistically continue this live action due to actor ages and abilities. Like is there a good/satisfying stopping point before shit goes crazy? I cant think of one and the unrealistic craziness only goes up from here

EmlovesOP

I loveee the way they did buggy still so full of himself but also a little crazy he might be my favorite of the live action cast so far he had me laughing

sil 🧸ྀི

i love that they made buggy a little bit scary in this lmao he's a menace through and through AND HIS JOLLY ROGER AT THE BEGINNING WHEN THE ONE PIECE TITLE APPEARED!!! i loved that

sil 🧸ྀི

japanese dub og actors revoicing the live action show makes me so happy <3 they're so iconic

kumamon

Yipeeeeee

Michael H

They had some solid casting for this show, but, honestly, Buggy might be my favorite

TrueCrisp

All the outfits the characters wear are outfits they wore on the manga covers i think

Marcus D

Air pods den den mushis is crazy lol

TrueCrisp

The live action was actually my introduction to one piece. I was an avid hater until this came out and i loved it so I watched the whole anime in like a year and a half

Initial D.

One thing i realized is that they made Luffy a lot more perceptive, and overall smarter in this Live action

Nash

Buggy is so fine😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

1804

I'm crying... Jeff Ward is a beautiful man though!

1804
>>187144260

As long as it's succesful and benefits Netflix, they will continue the show most likely. As for a stopping point... There's not really one, they've talked about doing 6-12 seasons but that's just talking stage. Matt Owens did talk about wanting to reach Ennies Lobby if I'm not misremembering, so perhaps that. Another point would be Sabaody.

1804

They truly found a job for forever. I wonder if they knew op was going to last so long. And yes, they're goated.

cozo

sabaody is gonna hit even harder after watching this

wanira 11

Carter imitating Hoghback's laugh perfectly lmao

Ante

OP Lvl 1: Why do they laugh so weird??? OP Lvl 50: Dereshishishis; Gyagyagyagya; A A A A A; Chapapapapa; Yohohohho; Heroheroherohero; Kishishishishi; Carter @0:10. If you can ID all the laughs without looking them up your Lvl 100.

wanira 11

Man, after watching over 800 ep in the anime, the moment with Shanks giving Luffy the hat gets me so emotional, you just have so much more context to how important this scene was to Luffy's journey and it just hits me in the feels every time. They also nailed it in the live action

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! The snails are so overly creepy in the live action. It's kinda funny

Sasha Ruple

Live action Luffy feeling the need to say "we don't need to resort to violence" just feels strange to me. Luffy is very good at intuiting when violence is necessary and when it's not, he doesn't need to say it directly lol

kivu_king

To be hero x just ended the season today, 10/10 peak would love you guys to give it a chance :)

Szonin

daily OnePiecedle 😎

Szonin

Buggy in the live action is so cool and menacing.

Rahaf

Did they watch episode 1?

watwilje

how are you already posting more live action than the actual anime, this so trash

Belly

they have a schedule dumbass. plus they don’t just watch one piece.

Belly

yup

Dasha

Yes but it’s in regular one piece collection for some reason

cozo

well they've been reacting to the anime for over a year and are only gonna be watching this for like another week and a half

Nrock23

Nice! I didn’t realize he was watching it on his own still

1804

The live action only has 8 EPs, it will be over soon. Besides this is their channel and they decide what to post, it's not that deep.

watwilje

yeah and im saying their schedule is trash

Daniella

I have absolutely nothing appropriate to say about Zoro so i’ll talk about Buggy instead. He did pretty good ngl, i feel like this show is definitely taking a serious route rather than the more comedic east blue saga which i do miss but it’s probably to appeal to non-op fans but again i think his performance fit the vibe of the show. Also, i don’t like the look of Shanks’ crew i’m sorry like they look so rough and uncool to me compared to the anime 😭

CatchyGhost

I watched the Live Action first, and then I went on to watch the whole anime in about two months (I work from home and I fixate easily). I remember wondering if Zoro's dedication to Luffy was expedited in the LA, and they maybe skipped something from the anime where Zoro decided that Luffy was worth following. But nope, he's simply ride or die almost immediately in both, and it actually happens even faster in the anime lol

Spidey

BRO your pfp LMAO. Also bogard so peak lmao

Indifferent Denji

Theyre schedule isnt trash they just started this show this week its barely a change, Just cause they are switching sum up for two weeks it isnt the end of the world how childish of a mindset can you have? Not to mention live action is just a fun easy watch let em enjoy it

Zipzzty

Zoro the goat

Zipzzty

Bogard Stocks will be worth it one day trust

Zipzzty

Syrup Village My fav arc in the live action 😭😭

fia

i hope they dont drop new anime reactions until they finish the live action just because it's funny

McKay Carter

How is it trash? Ever heard of one piece week 😂

McKay Carter

Must’ve missed the two whole arcs posted in a week 👀

Rahaf

Ah, I see. Thank you

Marcus D

Bogard stocks is as trust worthy as a Logan Paul business

Mr. John Kagurabachi

A lot of Japanese people watched the OPLA in Japanese dub which I think is crazy haha. Like watching Squid Game in English dub lol

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Nah Jeff Ward (Buggy) is so good at acting. No offense to the other actors but you can feel the difference of performance and living into the role.

saida

i love the live action so much simply for the nostalgia. i've never watched the anime but my brother has been watching it for the past 10 years and i've seen bits of it because of this. i guess you could call the LA my intro to the story and i genuinely can't wait for season 2. been wanting to watch the anime for a while now, but the amount of episodes i have to catch up on...shall i just dive in??

sil 🧸ྀི

they probably didn’t i mean wow it’s definitely a dream come true!!!

Andrew Lynch

Some people just like complaining¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you guys stick to your schedule 99% of the time and two a week is reasonable fs. Not your fault 1100 episodes takes a lil

Andrew Lynch

Loving the LA btw been waiting for this one 🙏

Charybdis

Definitely dive right in. I started One Piece years ago when there were somewhere around 600 eps and I was also hesitant bc of the length so I can only imagine starting now with over 1k. But I'm glad I committed because it's one of my fav anime. I recommend going into it with a long-term mindset bc unless you have all the time in the world, it'll probably take months and maybe over a year to catch up. Enjoy the ride and experience PEAK.

saida

i'm gonna take your advice because you're right, there's no pressure to be quick with it. i'll start and see where the episodes take me. i'm so excited!!!! thanks charybdis!

All might

Has Mckay seen how good Lisa looked at the Emmy awards yet?? 🤭

지원

bro..

Tr3v1nat0r

The way water works with devil fruit users is that flowing water (ie rain and showers) dont affect them as it washes off. The amount that the water affects them is proportional to the percentage of their body submerged. It doesn't just apply to salt water, any water follows this principle.

Gabe P

Harsh take incoming but I’ve always felt like one of the few One Piece fans that truly dislikes the live action adaptation. To me it feels like people are too quick to praise the show because of all the passion that clearly went into the making of it (and don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking that). But, for me the show fails in the 2 core areas I believe are truly necessary for any live action show to succeed, directing and writing. Not to get too into the nitty gritty but with the direction it just feels cheesy, one example is trying to make one piece edgier than it naturally is with its themes. Then with the writing, look I understand it’s an adaptation and it isn’t going to be one to one but there are multiple emotional beats that I think they absolutely butcher due to writing out small but key details that gives those moments it’s emotional boost. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the adaptation and that it’s the worst adaptation ever (it really might be the best anime live adaptation) but it’s by far no masterpiece.

Gabe P

TL;DR - Weekly reader says: good adaptation, mediocre show.

Andrea

There's a little video with the japanese VA's about dubbing this, it might worth checking out after the end. And also the bloopers!

Merylin Special

I dont think anyone claimed it was a masterpiece, it got high praise simply compared to its other live action competition and coz it got new people into OP..which was its point and since it served its purpose it deserved praise.

Gabe P

Just cause of Garp’s LA story arc alone I would never recommend anyone to start with the LA. Sorry if I’m coming off as too much of a hater but at the end of the day a polished turd in a sea of diarrhea is still a turd.

JBVI

Ignorant point of view but ok

Gabe P

Hey now don’t start calling me ignorant cause I’m willing to say something OP related is bad. If we believe OP is a masterpiece we gotta be able to criticize slop and not fall down the Star Wars/Avengers pipeline.

Tokyo Ghoul Supremacist

Nah the Garp storyline lowkey goated. The show's got issues but that isn't one of them

Zess

Yeah, I actually don't dislike the garp reveal being early. The only reason that makes it "bad" is because it spoils for people who pivot to the anime. The story element by itself though isn't bad at all.

Lil Mimi

I feel like in the live action they show less of Luffy’s gum gum devil fruit powers like I need more of that

rac coun

It's not consistent though and the depth of the water seems to play a role as well. At Amazon Lily. Luffy was fully submerged, but he could stand up on his own. Usually DF eaters lose all strength as soon as they are more than knee deep in water, but in the beginning Luffy is struggling in the water. Also DF eaters can't float, except if they do.

Tr3v1nat0r

The inconsistencies are more from the anime, or they were explained by Oda in SBSs. I've also never read anything about knee-deep water being enough, it's always been proportional weakening

Liberty

Fun fact - Nami's actress is actually REALLY good with the staff. She nailed all those shots with the body parts herself. They're not CGI'd - she literally hit things into things for that part. Pretty crazy! Also, is this an extended version of the Live Action, because I swear there are lines in this version that aren't in the original, and some seem missing, too. IDK, it's definitely different to the version I watched.

Dani G

I think it’s excellent. I would never have watched the anime if I didn’t fall in love with the live action first.
