It's very similar to what Charon does in Greek mythology: carrying souls between life and death. When the final game is cleared, the playing phase is over, & the Joker will appear before you. You will then have to make a decision if you want to return to the real world or stay on as a citizen. They're adapting the Joker card differently & I'm intrigued to see how & what they do with it.

Yes that is Banda, the psycho serial killer from the J❤️ game "Solitary Confinement" which imo was the best game & it's even better in the manga! I'm glad he's getting more screen time because he's one of my controversial faves in the manga alongside Yaba. Also correct "the alley scene" is the K♠️ game with Isao Shirabi. One of the most brutal showdown & one of my favorite reaction from you guys lmfao

tbh i didn’t even know season 3 was dropping, but episode one pulled me right back in. the concept is abstract, so it can feel a little nonsensical at times, but i’m trusting the process. the well-built tension and characters ground it enough to keep me excited to see where it goes!

McKay asked a lot, “how did a meteor create this?” or “whose dictating these games?” and I thought I’d talk about it since it is something a lot of people tend to misinterpret or get confused about. The meteor didn’t magically “create” the Borderlands, it’s just a real world accident that put a lot of people on the brink of death at the same time. It could’ve been any accident or disaster, the specific event isn’t the point. The point is what the Borderlands are. They’re this shared in-between when you’re medically on the edge (coma/cardiac arrest territory), where your body and mind are basically deciding whether you’re coming back or letting go. It’s not a physical place a meteor zapped people into, it’s a symbolic space about life and death. That’s why everything in it is so surreal. The empty city, the sky lasers, the games, the impossible injuries. It’s meant to be fantastical rather than sci-fi. It’s a world that shows the dreamlike state between living and dying. The ending of season 2 tells us that there isn’t supposed to be a logical explanation. Instead the show is asking, “if you were on the brink, what would it take for you to fight to live?” That’s why the games are designed to test the things that actually push someone toward wanting life or giving it up. So the Borderlands already “exist” in the story’s logic as that liminal space. The twist isn’t that a meteor made the Borderlands. The point is to get us to think about the space between life and death and what we’d choose if we were stuck in it. I’m also only an episode into season 3, so I’m not sure how the rest of the season will play out or if it’ll shift the meaning since it’s no longer based off source material.. But for season 2, this was the intended ending!

And yess I’m an anime fan, but I only got into it about a year and a half ago after seeing a viral clip of the Geks reacting to Attack on Titan. I gave it a try and it became my favourite show oat haha. I became a Gek/anime watcher after that! I’ve been into k-dramas for years though ☺️

Yes that's very true! Hope you're right, Anya. I'll hold on to hope and think positive. But I'm kind of in agreement with others on here of being a bit skeptical to watch this season due to having mixed thoughts and emotions. That said, I'll probably conrinue since I love this show. It just feels a bit different. Aww yeah I suppose I am :) But I watch more anime and kdramas rather than read all manga. Lately, I've been reading more manhwa than manga. Also with manga, I've read a lot of them but the type vary. It's a lot of shoujo/slice of life stories and then some that have been adapted into anime. Thanks, it was nice to see and catch up with my brother and his family. However, it's good to be back so, I can fully indulge and focus on the episodes now as well as get caught up with the geks. Also, I wish I binged season 3 like I did with the other two seasons of Alice in Borderland but oh well. I guess I'll be good this time lol

In my opinion, I feel like there were a few key elements missing and not quite enough explanation on certain things, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. Overall, it was still entertaining, but I do prefer the earlier seasons more. I would give it a try, it was really entertaining and enjoyable.

Hey, McKay I don't think the meteorite is magic and caused the borderland. I think the meteorite was just a freak accident that caused everyone to have the near death experience. From what I remember from the first season, I think the borderland is just like a purgatory space.

It feels crazy to be back in Borderland... But here we are haha And the lengths Arisu will go to protect Usagi and make sure she's okay is beautiful. He's such an goated husband. Hope he can save her and they can live happily and have their baby. But I'm still scared of what will happen before they can reach that point of peace and security.
