Id have to disagree with your point on obitos death. You guys just calling it "kaguya kiling him" is too surface level imo. He sacrificed himself for his friend it mirrors when he saved kakashi from the boulder I think Obito finally taking a stance and agency over his actions is a solid aspect. But id still say it isnt good enough, you guys are forgetting that obito is still a terrible person who orchestrated and participated genocides, mass murder, kidnapping, and literal terrorism. Id say he got too good of an death. A death by madara would be boring and too cliche but on the other hand this death was WAYY too good, they made him out to be a hero,. Imo Obitos death should've been more gruesome while still him still sacrificing himself for someone but also i think he should have died as a loser with the weight on his sins something he has to accept, not a mfk smile on his face. Because he wasnt being mind controlled madara just didnt tell him the whole plan he fully did heinous shi to people who didnt deserve it just cause he was depressed and mad at the world.

I loved the show up until the pain arc which most anime watchers agree is one of the best arcs in anime That was where the show peaked and almost all of the war I treat it as Madara inflicting me with the infinite Tsukuyomi. All of it was a dream. Kaguya arc was a nightmare. Even if there are some very high highs in the war, the lows made it unbearable. But the last episodes are like a continuation of the real story and not some bs. I think of it like Pain arc - a big filler gap - the last episodes. War arc - 7/10 without kaguya Kaguya arc - its a 2/10 not even debatable

Firstly, you only brought up wano because I have an Ace pfp. I've been a naruto glazer for most of my anime journey I only started OP this year. Saying wano is a 3/10 immediately disqualifies you from having an opinion on arcs. Look at the ratings of both and come back to me it has the second most stretches of 9.3s and above other than marineford. One pace exists for badly paced stuff as well. Imagine making this about other animes. 😂

I dont need to check ratings when I have seen it myself and it was really hard to get through. A lot of people had already fallen off One Piece in post–time skip arcs and Wano is the arc that caused the most controversy among fans. Just because people hype it up and spam 10s on imdb doesnt mean it actually deserves them. If you filter imdb ratings for aot, naruto and other big anime to saudi arabia, you will see a lot of people from that country rating episodes a 2 and most of those comes from a one piece discord server that was set up to review bomb other anime and spam 10s for one piece. imdb scores cant really be trusted when they are easy to manipulate.

You need to do bleach next over boruto. Boruto doesn’t have a great adaptation early on and it makes sense for bleach first as it will complete your “big 3” watch through. Bleach has some slow arcs but soul society and tybw are soooo peak.

Well, I guess I'll chime in about Boruto. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you skipped certain arcs of Boruto. First off, you guys have to watch the movie Naruto: The Last. It's written by Kishimoto and it's canon content. Then you should watch at least 3 specific arcs in Boruto, don't really care if you skip the show. It would be like skipping Kakashi vs Obito fight, you just don't do it, ya fools. I'm not gonna spend my time defending Kishimoto or the animation studio. The Naruto manga is better than the My Hero Academia manga, that's just the truth 😂 haha. its funny thats not even a crazy take or insulting thing to say, that is literally just how humans work. its not some smudge against your ability to judge things and form your own opinions. They for sure wouldve not liked it anyway but having someone who says this is his "favorite" show perma complaining before, during, and after certain parts will 100% impact the experience. Not sure it was answered, but Kaguya is a power house. Incredibly powerful but not really a strategist. Zetsu on the other hand has been around Shinobi for hundreds of years and is very knowledgeable. That’s why she listens to him, he technically has more battle experience and knowledge than she does.

Zetsu knows more about history, ninjutsu, and battle strategy because Kaguya has been sealed away for 1,000 years. That’s why she’s relying on his advice. I think the reason it’s confusing is because she looks like a god so you would think she automatically knows everything but in reality she’s just an overpowered alien.

Ngl I have not been catching up with the Naruto reactions and that’s due to me not as much connecting with the guys throughout the reactions. I think the big factor is emotional feels where the disconnect started. Which is fine, but I wanted to comment for this war arc since it’s coming to a close. I would give it a solid 8. If I had to give a worse rating, I wouldn’t go lower than 7.3. There’s a lot of criticism I have for this arc but it’s definitely no where near a terrible arc in the show. For me Pain arc - #1, Final War arc - #2. There’s still a lot of great moments that will never be forgotten and great plots points. My favorite being Obito and Kakashi. So, I get the hate bc I have criticisms for things like Kaguya randomly appearing and not agreeing with Neji dying, things like that. However, this arc is still great but could’ve been done better and due to that, some downfall appeared in this arc. That’s why I was so surprised when 2 of the Geks said Naruto was their #1. Yes, Naruto will forever be iconic but after you watch the show and analyze it you realize there are other anime that is better than Naruto. No where near a terrible show but after watching other animes, you start to come to this realization. For example, I have shows like HxH, One Piece, AOT, Fullmetal, Code Geass over Naruto. I still believe Naruto is one of the best anime as well. Anyways, I hope you guys watch the movie soon when you catch up! And I also vote for Bleach next as well!!

Hearing people have Naruto as their #1 is definitely not surprising. It’s consistent for the most part. land of waves to the end of part 1 is the first long great run, akatsuki suppression up to kushina and minatos backstory is the second. then it slows down at the beginning of the war arc, but once naruto joins the battlefield, the third long stretch of greatness begins. You just have to skip the flashbacks, which is very easy to do and you are good.

Yeah, I don’t get surprised with people who just started anime saying Naruto is their number one or it’s their number one bc they grew up on it/nostalgia. What surprises me is if the person has seen loads and loads of anime and still has Naruto as their number one. I have Naruto in my top 10, but I will say it’s a show I did have a hard time placing. Even having to watch the slow parts and flashbacks, I still was enjoying the story. I do love Naruto but after I acknowledged the lows of the show, there are other shows I think were way better executed in comparison

The low points in one piece are much worse and last longer, so it’s surprising that you rank it so high. many of the pre–time skip arcs are genuinely boring, such as long ring, syrup village, thriller bark, skypiea, etc. and most post–time skip arcs are the length of the entire war arc but with fewer highs, repetitive content and very low lows. If it doesn’t surprise you that one piece can be someone’s #1 despite these major lows and after they’ve seen tons of other anime, then Naruto being someone's #1 shouldnt be surprising at all.

Also how I rank my shows is judged by writing, world building, character development, etc. The more the show excels at those points, the more I enjoy them. While I kind of disagree with your comment (I love Naruto and its flaws) unfortunately I too feel disconnected with their reactions. For me, when time passes and I remember their reactions to Naruto, I’ll remember them with the word “negativity” attached to it. It’s just how it is. It is the feeling that’s left in me after watching them all those months. Personal opinion is definitely not a problem, but the manner of which characters are constantly neglected, expectations are set before certain arcs, dialogue or character’s role definitely weight in.

And once I noticed the emotional feels wasn’t hitting them as hard, I thought “damn they probably not as much into it”😭. For example, I cried my eyes out during the Jiraiya death episode, for Itachi’s backstory, and I loved ending/solution for the pain arc (also had me in tears). Everytime I think back to Naruto, i remember how emotional I was into it bc I was bawling my eyes out in so many parts, from OG to Shippuden. Not saying the guys need to cry bc they don’t have to at all, and not saying it’s a bad thing they didn’t, and I’m not saying none of them get the emotional feels from the show, but just from me watching the reactions I noticed they are not as into it. Which is fine, but I find myself not as much keeping up with the reactions

Kaguya turning into a giant rabbit and also having Rabbit influence in her base form is not random, it’s a direct nod to Japanese mythos and lore of a Rabbit goddess from the moon. That lore most likely deriving from the fact that when looking at the moon from in Japan, the moon’s markings can look like a rabbit.

I hate when people have to dog on a show thinking the people they are saying it to will then skip the other one and watch the one they want asap, it’s really corny. I don’t love boruto but it’s not trash and bleach is definitely not infinitely better than boruto, it’s better but boruto has some good stuff. I personally don’t really care which one the watch first but dogging on a show and giving misinformation to people so that they won’t watch it is so cringe. That was wayyy back then when boruto started really bad but it’s pretty decent and has some peak moments, so saying that now is just really hard to watch grow up it’s like the console wars in the big 2025 almost 6, lock in twin 💔✌️

I still have Naruto at 1 after watching a lot of anime's but Naruto hit the hardest for me despite some plot holes and all that. The closest anime that hits almost as hard as Naruto for me is One Piece.

There’s only 74 manga canon Boruto episodes, and I’d actually recommend y’all give those episodes a shot. Can double check me on animefillerlist. I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised, it’s definitely overhated (I think over filler episodes, which I don’t like to watch in any series)

I agree Jack, Obito should have had Sakura transplant his sharingan back to Kakashi before he crumbled. Woulda made more sense than what happened. The explanation is he still had 6 paths chakra so that’s why he was able to pull of the Hagaromo. But as a Kakashi fan, and after everything, he deserved to keep at least one of those sharingan. And I think it would have been better if he gave him both and they became eternal MS. The writer could pull out anything at this point as we see, might as well give Kakashi the ultimate buff 😂

well the mostly used his sharingan in pair with his raikiri, to perfectly dodge and counter, but as the lore goes in OG, it eats his chakra pretty bad and fast. IMO i think, with all the jutsus he copied, he could be even stronger without the sharingan since it wouldnt drain his chakra and stamina so fast

thats only an american thing.. they have fans all over the world, not only americans.. and we hate the dubs no offense. for me, it just doesnt hit the same. I can feel the emotion in a jap/korean VA, but in english (im not saying all of them, but most of them) you can literally hear them just read a script. I'll give you an example. If you know MrBallen on youtube, he makes story videos, and i love them. But recently he started making podcast story telling and i cant even listen to them. You can hear the difference from story telling to script reading so much...

Totally with you on Kaguya feeling like it comes out of nowhere. If you’re judging Shippuden as a perfectly plotted story start to finish, this stretch is not great. But for me Naruto was always a character/relationship story first. The plot is basically a vehicle to force people to collide emotionally and show the parallels: love turning into hatred, trauma repeating through generations, and whether anyone can break that cycle. That’s why stuff like Sasuke/Itachi hits so hard. Itachi’s love becomes cruelty, Sasuke’s grief becomes rage and revenge but the love is still there under all the damage. And it’s why Gaara, Nagato, and Obito are so tragic. They’re all “Naruto if he’d broken.” Naruto’s best trait is that he refuses to write people off, because he knows what it feels like to be treated like a monster. He changes them by forcing them to look at the part of themselves that still wanted hope. So yeah, Kaguya isn’t my favorite either. The series’ strength is the emotional core. The bonds, mirrors, loss, redemption, and Naruto trying (over and over) to end the cycle instead of continuing it. He’s my goat and always will be. And the multitude of so many great characters with well developed backstories that further highlighted the “wretchedness of the shinobi world”. In short, I wouldn’t focus too much on the plot. The plot was just the environment for these character dynamics to clash
