Shane should be the goat bro. Stepped up when he thought Rick was dead. Lori getting with Shane is weird but an understandable response for her. Its the apocalypse. When Rick came back he did his best to follow Loris boundaries and tbh I feel like Lori is fully responsible for Shane keeping the relationship a secret. Plus hes choosing to leave when he knows things arent working out, but staying to find Sophia. The scene with Shane and Lori in the CDC is indefensible, but rn it feels like the writers included it just to make Shane unlikeable. First time watcher by the way.

A person who wants to die does not necessarily attempt suicide because they 110% want to die. They attempt it the same way a person stuck in a burning high-rise building will eventually jump from the window. Not because they want to, but because it's the lesser of two terrors and also a way of feeling in control of a situation far out of their grasp. That terror of jumping from such a hight is no less great for the person up there than it is for a spectator on the ground who can't imagine the heat of the flames. It is true that some people who survive suicide attempts report that they regretted it immediately, or while in the act, but that's very far from the case every time. The difference is that the people who didn't regret it, and are rather upset about failing, won't go around talking about it so nobody knows. That's one of the real killers. I've been around countless situations like this and it's horrible and complicated. I don't necessarily agree with how Carter phrased his thoughts at the end about Andrea "bluffing" but I understand the sentiment. The anger she feels about being forced to keep on living is extremely real and genuinely just sad

Buddy she's like a 10 year old child who was scared out of her mind. If you paid attention to what Daryl said when tracking her, she was walking back like Rick told her but something apparently spooked her and she ran off in a different direction. She started walking too early but kids have genuinely no concept of time and 15 minutes while you're that scared feels like a lifetime. Well, one person should never carry the weight of someone else's suicidal thoughts/attempts. Someone can love you and still want to opt out. Unless you are an absolutely disgusting human being, you wouldn't kill someone in your attempt to opt out. Ofc you should do what you can to save a life, but you should realize that forcing their hand may very well backfire. Resentment, guilt, anger are expected. Dale forced her hand and is facing the consequences, and Andrea is coming to terms with what happened. Just like most things in the show, you can argue back and forth on who's right or wrong and never come to an agreement which is something I love.

I agree more with Cannon regarding Andrea wanting to take her own life. She chose to keep living, not because she didn't want to die, but because she didn't want Dale's death to be because of her own decision. I disagree with Carter's "when you want to die that bad, you just don't care" statement. It's nuanced, not just black and white. It's important to note that Andrea was dealing with the death of her sister AND an apocalypse. Her rationale that life was no longer worth living is totally understandable.

I think Shane felt responsible for Rick getting shot in episode 1, which in turn made him feel an obligation to protect Carl and Lorie, since Rick was most likely dead and couldn't. My guess is that Lori and Shane just started developing feelings for each other since it was like the end of the world and it was probably comforting to have someone to hold.

yeah no, as someone whos been in and around certain situations, being suicidal doesnt just make u heartless - someone doing what dale did would absolutely make most people reconsider their actions (in that moment at least). it is true that many people who survive attempts have found themselves wanting to live at the last second, because at the end of the day its typically not about dying itself persay, but escaping things that people feel they otherwise cant (basically the wish to live never really left, but the hope one has in thinking they could reach a life in which they /could/ live has) - which as you said, has particularly clear reasoning in andreas case. i mean even along the way weve seen several people like the 'god forgive us' couple who have opted out of things, and jacqui herself hadnt experienced a loss like andrea just had with amy, but still chose to go out with jenner. i definitely dont blame dale for doing what he did, but i also dont blame andrea for being upset about it either - even if in the case of andrea realizing she wants to live and being embarrased of how things went down (which i think a lot of people inevitably would be, bcuz of what a vulnerable situation it is), i really dont think saying 'if andrea really wanted to die dales actions wouldnt have changed anything' is right either

100% agree. Being suicidal doesn't make you selfish at all. I had an almost successful suicide attempt in my early twenties and at that time, I was thinking about what a burden I was on my family and loved ones, and truly, deeply believed that they would benefit from my passing in the long run. There was never a single moment where I wanted to hurt them in any way. I also disagree with them saying suicide survivors usually realise they want to live as they're dying. I, and many others I know, felt a deep sense of shame that I could fail even at that. It takes years to conquer depression, and everyone watches you like a hawk after an attempt. You're kind of forced to keep on keeping on through guilt. Obviously a decade on, I'm grateful, but at the time I was just more depressed lol. I would also be pissed if I was Andrea. If I was in an apocalyptic world and watched my family die, I would also want to get exploded at the CDC :P

He has a video presentation about Love Sx and Relationships in which he sais that a big contribution to "falling in lave/chemistry" is when two people share/experience the same emotion.
