This feels so nostalgic watching this with you geks, my first watch was with my mum and it was the first long standing show we managed to get through consistently, an episode, 2 or 3 a week can you believe it but it was definitely worth it and this is exactly how it feels rewatching with you like being able to understand both sides of Lori's struggle with wanting to abort and then throwing up the pills, we spent just as much time debating what we'd do, as watching the episodes 😆

I feel like they were feeding the walkers because they probably thought they'd starve without being fed. I don't think they are very knowledgeable about them. That being said, the decaying flesh alone would render a cure useless on those walkers. Also, poor chickens.

I don't know if this was already mentioned but there was a slight foreshadowing in previous ep when Hershel and Rick talk about the "disease" and Hershel compares it to AIDS outbreak and how everyone panicked but humanity bounced back, kinda showing how he still considers walkers humans who can be cured/treated. I caught this on the rewatch and this is what makes this show so good

Hershel is correct, its perfectly reasonable to view walkers as sick people and its not weird to keep them in a barn and keep them chickens to keep them alive.

Dale shouldve said to Lori that her child doesn't need to live to 50 years old and doesn't need to live a "happy life". Life is still worth living, even in this zombie apocalypse. There is hope for a cure, and even if there isn't they are still able to live lives that resemble other lives that many people live today. They get to eat, they have family and friends, they have shelter, medicine, weapons for security. Theyre not in pain and are fully able bodied. They can laugh and play guitar read books do household chores and ride horses and even have sex. Yes terrible things can happen in this world they are living in, but there is still a lot to be greatful and a lot of privileges to enjoy.

I'm afraid this is absolutely not a realistic look at life in a zombie apocalypse. It's cruel to bring a child to life in this world just for it to be eaten in a couple of years and while also endanangering yourself (as a mother of a young boy who needs her) and endangering everyone around them. This is not even about a child making it to 50, it's about survival day by day. Also there is no hope for cure as of this moment in the show. Eating, sleeping, talking, etc is not a privilege; it's a basic necessity that they barely have and the apocalypse started just less than 1 Year ago. Would you actually want to bring someone to life knowing that they don't get happiness? in the world where humans are losing their touch with humanity? Also knwing that that child might be a product of an affair with your husbands best friend?

I've never personally witnessed a pregnant woman get like that, but I've seen it in plenty of TV shows and movies. i think dales decision to confront shane 1o1 was a double edged swort cuz its true that he wouldnt win against him in a physical fight and it is definitely unwise to make shane your enemy but he probably knew that shane wouldnt show his true face like that infront of the hole group and just lie. But now Dale got his suspicions confirmed.

yes, it's a very good call back and also gives us insight to their relationship prior to the outbreak. While Rick hasn't done anything "wrong", he reaction really implies that Rick is the type to shut down and recluse, and that obviously isn't healthy or good for a relationship. This doesn't mean Lori is right by any means in how she acts, but both parties can be wrong in their own ways at the same time. Maybe it could be an intended plot point, maybe not, but I think Shane is meant to be an idea of what Lori originally wanted from Rick, but after having it with Shane, realizes she really wants who Rick is.
