Also, with the subtitle stuff, you guys didn't do a trade-off; the subtitles were always going to be censored, you just switched to a visually uncensored version. Even if you stuck with the other version, you'd still be getting the bad names. Our suggestion isn't to read the manga but to use a pirated version of JoJo that has the correct names. I understand that isn't as straight-forward as loading up a streaming service, but it's not like we're asking you to do the impossible here. Other reactors have used the corrected subs too.

You can just look up the real names after or see if someone says in the comments. You can also hear them if you listen closely but it’s not always easy. Not a huge deal you’ll probably find out the real names one way or another.

True, Part 3 feels like monster of the week so far, but monster of the week is not a bad thing imo. It is still so creative, different, and entertaining that it's still really good.

Yeah not a big deal imo. For the major characters you'll inevitably come to know what their real names are since they're so often repeated.

The stand names are an iconic and needed part of the story plenty of other reactors have watched unfiltered episodes and i believe that yall will come through for us. It begins to really matter later and in other parts

It just sort of ruins the experience if they have these misconceptions about the names of important characters. It would be one thing if it were just Dan of Steel over Steely Dan or Centerfold over J Geil etc, but it becomes pretty unbearable from Part 4 onward.

Lali Ho Geks. I was so knee-deep in your GoT season 2 that I missed my Jojo's notification. I'm glad you're enjoying the pacing, Carter. Part 3 is definitely an essential watch, and fun. That being said we, the hindsight merchants, know how the show vastly improves - particularly towards the end of part 3, and most certainly parts 4 & 5. PS - get well soon McKay 🤧

What i would give for you guys to watch Kaguya-sama Love is War. It’s like a JoJo’s type but rom com of pure comedy. I’m sure you guys will love it. sub or dub of this awesome as the narrator in both is great and having fun with the script. Where my Kaguya fans at?

The names in the subtitles are always censored on every steaming platform and the names are "important" to jojo fans because Araki named most if not all the characters after musical artists he listened to while writing each part. You'll start to recognize some as you watch future parts I'm sure but its just a fun part of the show and story. Don't do it if you don't want to but like Carter said, just listen to how they say the names instead of reading the names in the subtitles. It's really not that hard.... I do notice that several people usually leave comments in the comment section to let you know the real names if you missed it during your watch, so you could always read those. Only if you care to.

I think the "problem" with the names it's that most people don't really know/referred to the characters or stands by the censored name. Right now it's not that big of a deal, but later on can get out of hand.

To me it adds to the flavor heaaavily but i wouldnt start a civil war over it in the comments. Would be nice if they either looked up the reference names after an episode (i could write up a list and dm it to one of the geks to make it realistic) or let the comments tell them

I find it kind of out of character that none of the Crusaders believed Kakyoin (other than Jotaro maybe?), since he's consistantly been very level headed and trustworthy. Obviously he started out as a villain and then was "a traitor" (Yellow Temperance), but in both instances he wasn't himself. Believing Kakyoin that a baby has a stand might be a bit out there, but they've fought the R-Ape by this point already. I personally don't think that Part 3 drags. Compared to the previous parts it IS adapting fewer chapters per episode (4.8 for Phantom Blood, 4 for Battle Tendency), but it's still 3 chapters per episode. I think the main thing that makes it feel more samey is that we're consistantly with the same cast of characters, as opposed to the previous parts where we were with the same 2~3 and everyone around them switched out consistantly.

"Monster of the Week" isnt too bad if it does something fresh which jojo fights deliver in. Its not like Pokemon or Super Sentai stuff where it something feels like ur watching the exact same episode. Jojo also has stakes in each encounter since you never know with this show so the settings and abilities have mostly been fun enough for me.

to me it was one of the most important parts of the show, but i was suuuper into all the bands, so each stand basically represented a song or band to me, which adds sooo much. but i dont expect anyone who isnt familiar with classic rock to really pick up on the names except for the really famous ones. its sortve a case of ignorance is bliss, as in if you dont know the references, you dont even realize what youre missing out on

Prime has uncensored for the visuals. No legal source has the correct subs. Just listen to what they say, and you will most likely pick it up. If not, then comments will help you. It can also be fun to try and figure out what the actual non-copyright name is for characters. As for why the visuals matter, the censorship is awful. Jotaro smoking a cigarette in episode 6 for example puts a black box over his whole face below his eyes. It's terrible.

Jojos doesn’t have a bad part tbh. 1 and 3 (and to a lesser extent a later part) receive more hate and maybe have more flaws than some of the other parts, but I love every part

I have to be so real man, why is everyone complaining about the subtitles? The copyright names are literally part of the charm of watching JJBA, Dan of Steel is SO funny! If you guys listen to the VAs you'll probably pick up on what these names are meant to be but its just, so not a big deal, please ignore the people complaining.
